Great menu, friendly staff and good ambience
This place is wonderful! My fiancé and I live around the corner and we just found our local restaurant. The food was delicious and the staff was so friendly and helpful! I would recommend everyone to try it out
Cozy snd quiet atmosphere. They know how to cook fish of all types. We would definitely return.
Service is usually a 5, we had our finished (empty) first course plate on our table throughout the entire entree course. Wait staff and bus busboys walked by the empty plates that I had pushed to the side at least 20x.
Very nice, comfortable atmosphere. Well done.
Everything was perfect. We asked for a club soda that came in a short whiskey glass for full price. That was the only problem.
Service was prompt, food was very good. I would recommend for lunch
I was disappointed that they didn't check vaccination status at the door for inside dining. Other than that our visit was great, we stayed 2-1/2 hours and no one tried to get us out the door.
High-quality yuppie fare in a pleasant room decorated with handsome prints of yachts. Outdoor seating too, of course. A neighborhood favorite, so it's full of Upper East Siders.
Go to Island on Madison Avenue. Good food. Good service. Good price
The burger m was overcooked and made me sick a few hours later. The tuna was also overcooked.
Fantastic stop for lunch prior to heading to Museum Mile. Their tomato soup is delicious. The lobster quesadilla was as well. Great afternoon/lunch time cocktails for a day off.
Loved weekday lunch with my kids at Island. Very kid-friendly with special menus and crayons. Delicious food and great service. Outdoor heat lamps kept us so warm. Will definitely be back!
Wonderful place to meet close to Mount Sinai. Fish entrees were all excellent.
Lovely place and delicious food.
Food and service were excellent.
Perfect place to meet a friend for lunch!
Island is a favorite restaurant of ours. The only problem is it is incredibly
loud during the dinner hour, and at lunchtime when there is construction activity nearby.
A cute little spot on the upper east side. Our server was sweet but we had to constantly ask for more water and anything else we needed. Some items on the menu were perfect- the chopped salad- but others were meh- the crab cake sliders. Because there are so many other choices I wouldve expected better service and food.
Island always pleases! There is a variety of dishes offered at their Sunday Brunch and each is wonderful! The wait staff is warm, friendly, professional and usually attentive. The ambiance is lovely.
I highly recommend Island when you visit or live in the upper east side of the city.
Brunch was delicious, the only disappointment was we didn’t have room for dessert.
The server forgot to put in an order but it was brought out fairly quickly and the complimentary brioche made up for it.
Delicious food, not over-salted like many restaurants. Island Margarita had a kick! Appreciated the patient waitstaff; my dining partner and I were deep in conversation and the waitress was unobtrusive getting our order.
Excellent selection and food. Service seemed a bit stressed. Seemed like not enough coverage and the very capable people were stretched a bit more than they would have preferred.
Very pleasant dining experience. Nice ambiance and quiet with attractive lighting and well rounded menu.
My swordfish was delicious and nicely plated.
We started with the humus which was bland and badly needed some kick.
Good service and will be back for sure
The service ( not the waiters fault ) was incredibly slow. We waited almost 40 minutes for our entree to be served.
Thank you for your feedback, sorry you had to wait Micheal. We take pride in our service and look forward to serving you better next time. We hope you to see you again soon!
Loved it! The best neighborhood restaurant.
Thank you Barbara! We look forward to having you again!
Food cold. Entrees served not at the same time. Undercooked items.
Sorry you had an unpleasant experience. We take pride in our service and look forward to serving you better next time you come. Hope to see you again soon!
This restaurant is really good. Ambience always nice. Food takes a little bit long to come to table, but worth waiting for. Best salmon I’ve ever had and sweet potato fries were hot, crispy and delicious
We were seated right away with a friendly server. But the hamburger and grilled cheese sandwich we ordered were below mediocre. Food took exactly an hour to arrive after we were seated. We used to love Island but see now that it is no longer the good quality UES neighborhood restaurant it used to be.
We would not eat here again. The kale autumn salad lacked flavor needs a better dressing and maybe some cranberries or raisins. I’ve eaten a lot of salad and this one was very boring. The hamburger was decent. The roasted chicken flavor was good but the cauliflower was supposed to be Parmesan dusted and there was not a hint of parm flavor. I wound up eating it dipped in chipotle Mayo that came with the burger. Nothing at all remarkable about this place, except the server was a very nice young man. The food ingredients were of a good quality just not a personal preference for me to seek out this place again.
A great neighborhood restaurant. Really good comfort food Attentive server Decor makes you feel you were in Nantucket
Our favorite place to eat on upper east side
Incredible wait staff with consistently great food!
Lovely brunch menu. The outdoor seating was comfortable and had a good atmosphere
On a lovely early fall evening, we sat outside and shared a calamari appetizer. We then each had the lobster quesadilla and shared a slice of key lime pie. My friend had a mixed drink, and I had white wine. Food was delicious. Staff were solicitous and did not rush us.
This place is great! Love the environment and food! Perfect place for date, family or meet with friends.
Island was outstanding. The staff and servers were personable, friendly, and helpful.
The kitchen turned out dishes quickly and the food was excellent. A maple-glazed salmon and sea bass were perfectly prepared. We were checked in quickly and served promptly. We liked everything about Island and plan to return.
Lunch at Island is as relaxing as the name would suggest. Everyone is warm and friendly and the food is simple and delicious. Crab cakes and avocado toast are my favorites, but I haven't had anything I didn't like. And now that they've added a particularly charming outdoor structure, I look forward to eating outside all the more.
Consistency! Always ! Lunch, dinner, outstanding food and service! Dessert selection might improve though.
Not up to it’s usual standards. And we were offered an outdoor table on the sidewalk next to the garbage bags. Seriously. Not acceptable. Won’t be rushing back
Everyone at the table enjoyed the food very much. Great waiters!
