Went to Nantucket to celebrate my husbands and my anniversary. Our dinner at Island Kitchen was wonderful and would definitely go back. The mushroom bruschetta was delicious and also really enjoyed the chicken Milanese. ❤️
We enjoyed our meal at Island Kitchen after a long day out on our bikes and in the beautiful summer sun. The meal was perfect for all of us. The restaurant was very busy, so the service was a bit slow, but to be honest, we enjoyed the time just drinking our drinks and sharing stories of the day. The restaurant doesn't have a nautical view but is tucked away on a quiet cul de sac and was very nice. We would recommend Island Kitchen to anyone looking for a nice way to end the day. And, the ice cream was a delight!
Quick, efficient, friendly service. Food was absolutely phenomenal. The medallions were cooked to a perfect medium rare, grilled salmon with lemon risotto had magnificent flavors. Only complaint has nothing to do with the restaurant itself and more with parents who couldn’t control their children! Overall a great experience and may have to dine there again before we leave the island!
Very good food..ate outside, service was excellent. Will plan to go back for sure
Love breakfast and lunch, love dinner just a bit less.
Food was good, but portions were very small and the prices are very expensive for what you get. I left hungry after spending $130
We asked to be moved to shady table and we’re accommodated immediately. Service and food were delicious except for the shrimp Fran Diablo which was not at all spicy. Our server was attentive and friendly
Could not have been more impressed with the wait staff and food. Was an amazing treasure we will definitely go back to and recommend.
Great food, Ambiance, service and staff
Great food and wait staff!
My friend and I had a wonderful experience dining at Island Kitchen during our Memorial Day weekend stay in Nantucket. The food was delicious and so filling!
Love the menu changes! Great dinner!
Wonderful experience. We were seated outside in the enclosed window room, which was quite warm. It was nice since we had been sailing earlier in the day and had wind chills. Our hostess was extremely nice and attentive, but not overly so that it was annoying. She was sweet.
We had the calamari for dinner which came with a large sauce pan. I appreciated that as my biggest complaint with most restaurants is that they don’t provide enough dipping sauce for the volume of calamari. Superb! My husband said he thought the app was better than the calamari we had at Cru the night before.
I had a spicy margarita and the tuna bowl, both of which were fantastic. The bowl was spicy (love) and the food tasted so fresh. My husband got the chicken which he raves about the entire time.
It was quiet and the atmosphere was cozy! Loved it. Will be back during our next trip on island.
Lovely setting and great food!
Our waitress,Vanessa, was as good as it gets. service was way beyond expectations
The entire experience was wonderful, like always. The service with Moisa was fabulous and professional. The food was delicious.
Good food in a casual place. Great service! Centrally located so easy to get from any part of the island.
Always great food and service!
Great meal, great service. Nothing much more that can be said. Servers were super polite and the food was great.
DISAPPOINTING We have been fans of IK since its inception. However, our latest dinner experience was not up to par. The chicken breast served with Greek salad was a good concept, but the breast itself was way over salted and way overcooked and dried out. The crotons in the Caesar salad were poorly made with one side nearly burnt and the other untossted and soggy with oil. Hopefully, this was just a bad night for the kitchen.
Island Kitchen is a nice spot. Food was simple but well cooked . This was my first indoor and dining experience since the pandemic and it was a nice reentry. Perfect as a simple casual joint.
Terrific meal. Thanks again.
always delicious. great staff great food
Food was delicious and wait staff very friendly and pleasant! Would definitely go back!
Great waitress. Lots of good choices for food, fast timely service.
Fantastic. Thank you
Cozy space indoors or lovely outdoor porch with lots of plantings.
Island Kitchen always does a nice job, and this dinner was no exception. The heirloom tomato salads were delicious, but skimped a bit on the arugula. Shrimp and chicken additions were very tasty. Wine was overpriced for the glass and vintner, but that's our fault for not looking more closely. We will be back though... everything is tough with this stupid virus around... thanks!
Ugh. Not so good. Covid mulligan but not likely to return soon.
We have always loved Island Kitchen. Breakfast, lunch and dinner have always been outstanding. They have tried very hard to maintain their high standards during this time of COVID-19. As a result, they have a shorter than average dinner menu with a choice of main courses that was not as appealing as usual. As a result we were disappointed in our dinners. I believe this was an anomaly but the ratings I gave honestly reflect the menu and food we experienced this one time only. The efforts we are all making to support restaurants and for restaurants to stay in business demand difficult choices. We just wish the food choices were more reflective of their usual excellent food. I should also note I had brunch and lunch there recently and both were excellent.
Outside dining is preferable as the acoustics inside are horrible...especially when you are trying to dine with a table of “ladies night out” would recommend for a casual well prepared and service dinner!
Ate on their patio during a cold night (50s) and there were no heaters. Had salad, lobster roll and pork belly on a bun- all very tasty. Service was also good. Eating in a very simple patio while shivering was not great ambience considering the cost. I guess expectation was elevated after we had eaten at a different restaurant that provided a heater by our table. I wore a long sleeve, sweater, fall jacket. I should have brought a winter jacket or do takeout. I’m sure our experience would have been better on a warm night especially prior to covid.
Very fresh tasting food, hanger steak was cooked perfect and great dessert
Based on the food, the outside covered seating and the location we ended up here twice this week! We did dinner first and it was wonderful...breakfast/lunch was no slouch!
They handled COVID well but we look forward to a meal inside on our next visit.
We had a few of the appetizers - recommend the shumai and the calamari, not as big a fan of the cauliflower. We enjoy our entrees - the burger was great, the fluke was also very good.
We loved being able to eat out which we had not done much of in the time of Covid restrictions. Food was very good and excellent wine. Our server was so nice and accommodating. It was a little chilly on the porch which is Mother Nature’s doing but some portable heaters would have been great. Overall one of our favorite places to dine on the island.
Love Island kitchen, scallops were delicious, sauce on steak was delicious but steak a little tough, ate on the porch a little chilly but is what is due to virus. Also loved the shrimp shumai and calamari.....good pour nice night for all 4 of us.
The service was very good and the atmosphere on the covered deck was lovely. We were a bit disappointed with the food however. I had the beet salad and the chicken dish and my husband had the hanger steak. The salad was good but the entrees were not very tasty. My chicken was dry and my husband’s steak was tough. We have had breakfast here several times and it was outstanding! Good reviews for dinner made us anxious to try Island Kitchen for dinner. Maybe the menu was limited due to Covid? Thought the choices online sounded much better so we may try again.
Went to Island Kitchen based on reviews here on Open Table. It was very good. Food was good and the service was excellent. We sat outside which was nice, but a bit dark. Suggest that they maybe add some lighting outside for the future. It was a bit pricey, but then again, all restaurants in Nantucket are pricey. I'd recommend it.
Freezing in the dark at a table in the parking lot....should have just left
