Très bien. Les huîtres sont excellentes! Peut être un peu cher comparativement à Montréal..,
Recomiendo las ostras todos los tipos son deliciosos
Whole staff seemed to be in a bad mood- the food was just ok.
The shellfish tower was exceptional and the crispy oyster slider was delicious. We will return.
Probably my favorite Boston restaurant when I’m visiting from the SF Bay Area. They have a wide variety of tasty oysters, a very nice clam chowder, fried oyster slider and especially shrimp pimento cheese spread ( ask for extra crackers ). It’s a vibrant fun scene with many cocktail, beer and wine choices. The wait staff are especially attentive and helpful!
I got engaged! Wait staff was amazing
Quite frankly the best oysters in Boston! Quality seafood, reasonable pricing in the heart of Back Bay. If you love oysters you must eat here!
Good. The most fancy restaurant in Fenway.
This is our second time to ICOB and it was absolutely delicious.
We got many plates to share, including: clam chowder, lobster roll, fried clams, citrus salad, oyster slider, and for dessert this awesome lemon thing. That clam chowder was the best I’ve ever had, with nice chunky bacon. Fried clams perfect. Lobster roll was huge overflowing with perfectly cooked lobster, light layer of mayo - just amazing.
Will absolutely be back again soon.
Dinner this past Friday at 5:00
Seating: After waiting at the bar (with a perfectly made Manhattan) for our seat, we were led to the very back of the restaurant and seated next to a table set for a large party and near the kitchen doorway. I should have spoken up immediately to be moved to another table. Fortunately the large party turned out to be a soft-spoken group of medical students so we were lucky.
Food: Striped bass ceviche, though tasty, was very small and served without chips. Shrimp cocktail, though $4 apiece, were enormous. I had the striped bass special served with gnocchi and parsnips, spouse had fish and chips. The striped bass was flavorless and the gnocchi was served with a heavy cream sauce which overwhelmed everything. Fish and chips were just ok. Bread for the table and dessert were adequate.
Staff: Bartender pleasant and made an excellent Manhattan. Hostesses had no smiles. Waitress was very nice and knowledgeable of best wine pairing.
Cost: Moderately expensive
Summary: Better food and atmosphere at Eastern Standard, right next door. If you don’t need to see and be seen andwant good seafood, go to Summer Shack.
Excellent souper ! Poissons et homard très frais. Bon conseil de la serveuse pour le choix des plats. Je le recommande pour un souper en couple ou entre amis !
As per usual, a wonderful birthday experience! Great ambiance, great service.
A little surprised that there wasn't a house Cabernet Sauvignon, or any by the glass. But other than that, a wonderful evening!!!
Ambiance and food are still worth it after all the years. The wine list has become very pricy and spoils the fun to some extent.
Offensively bad experience today. The server did not know a thing about oysters or really anything on the menu. It took forever to get any attention and then another ten minutes for drinks. And then the food came out, all of us really not caring for what we ordered and my burger missing the bacon that was supposed to be on it. The entire experience was just too much work, they were not organized and perhaps just too tired from an earlier rush. Absolutely will find other joints for seafood.
This is my second visit to this wonderful restaraunt. We went for a birthday brunch. But because we arrived at 1:30, they were out of a few items. Oysters and desserts were spectacular. Extensive wine list. Will go back again.
The food and ambiance is AMAZING! Cant wait to come back
Oysters were excellent. Oyster sliders were over cooked. Fried clams we're quite good, and light. Tarter sauce was not classic style I'd expect. Service was attentive.
The oysters are exceptional, and the wait staff is very helpful in suggesting which ones to order.
The wine steward, Lindsey Howard, is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. You should not miss the buttermilk biscuit. We also recommend the martinis, either straight up (my choice) or on the rocks (my husband's choice). This is our go-to place for all occasions.
Island Creek Oyster Bar is well managed by a restaurant group with local roots ... a key in Boston. There is an excellent sourcing of food and beverage items.
Symbolic of all this goodness is Victoria, my favorite bartender/server in the city - and I have lived here for 14 years. She is a perfect balance of style & substance - practically guaranteeing a wonderful evening! And don' t overlook the obvious - the oysters are amazing!!
Service was excellent, food was fine. The flavor profile of the dishes were a bit off.
Love the oysters. Drink menu was uninspiring, but food made up for it!
We went for oysters (tried 10 different varieties) and wine. Both were great. Kudos to Lindsay, the Wine Director, for making our evening so special.
Finally made it to the Mecca of Boston seafood. Made reservations 3 months ago for 6 for wife's birthday. Bottomline, decent food. Though lobster roll average if you are from New England. Give 3 stars for food and value. Two stars for service. It was a busy Saturday night and we felt rushed throughout the meal. We received dessert and 1 minute later the check. They are looking to turn tables fast. It appears Staff walks around with iPads calculating table time?
Best oysters in Boston. Helpful, attentive and knowledgeable staff even on a very busy Saturday night.
Wonderful! Great lunch-great service-delicious oysters!
My oyster-loving boyfriend was treating me to a weekend getaway in Boston. We love good food, and after looking for local restaurants before going to Sculler’s Jazz club, we immediately booked ICOB. The service was knowledgeable and just the right amount of attentiveness. The food was AMAZING. We usually try to go to different places each trip, but WE WILLBE BACK, and can’t wait for next time.
Wonderful experience! The staff was attentive and friendly. Clean, fun and inviting atmosphere. Loved the oysters! Great IPA also
Great seafood that is well prepared. Staff super friendly.
Awesome night once again. Excellent drinks at the bar followed up by some excellent seafood. When the waiter noticed one person wasn't eating his meal and not feeling well from the flu, he offered us crackers and took the entree off the bill - so we tipped another $30. Awesome service.
Our waiter was very attentive and happy to help us adjust the menu to our tastes.
Everything's just PERFECT! Try chef's favorite oysters which are all creamy and fresh. Mussels and lobsters are also great, and the bread is a surprise. This restaurant just made my day! Love love love <3
The cold appetizer for four was great ... the oysters were fresh and served appropriately chilled. I thought the ceviche was great but the portion a bit small. Fried clams were flavorful and puffy ... not greasy in the least. The chowder was a little thin and very Smokey. That was the only real miss.
Been going since they opened, big fans. When there was a hiccup in serving our entrees, Chelsea, the manager, was extremely generous and personable. Frankly it turned a small mistake into a legitimate positive in the meal. Our server was great too. Wines are also fantastic.
Fantastic service. Oysters were well cleaned
Might be my favorite restaurant of all time... Certainly top 10
We have been to the restaurant many times - the service is always excellent - very well trained staff. Two small criticisms - the small portion of fried clams was unusually small - the white caviar sliders were also on the tiny side.
The Island Creek oysters are amazing! Food is great, and you can get full belly Ipswich Fried Clams!
I’ve been several times and it’s always been great- but this night it just wasn’t. Too start, they were out of three menu items and with a fairly small menu to start with, this really left minimal options. Second- my food was good- but not great, and our service was pretty bad. At the bar, the bar tender was unable to recommend a wine- and at our table our server couldn’t answer pretty basic questions about the menu and was generally inattentive. It wasn’t terrible... it just wasn’t even close to as good as every other time I’ve been there.
The lobster crepes were memorable! Such tender knuckles in a light cream sauce and the crepes were not slimey-they were perfectly fresh and melt-in- your mouth soft.
I'm dreaming of when I can go back again. Perfect cocktail of maple, lemon, bitters and rum (?) I had two that night and would reorder the exact same dinner with oyster apps. Great execution, friendly service, very professional service on Valentine's night. Exta busy but very well controlled. We were so pleased!
