Food not as good as it used to be when we first dined there before COVID. A lot more expensive, but that's like anywhere else. They had live music and unfortunately, our table was in front of the band and speakers which was really loud. Music was good but just too loud from where we were sitting. Service was so-so. We had to request water several times before the waiter came.

The Camarones al ajillo and the ropa vieja beef dishes were excellent! Also, the calabasa and potatoes appetizers very savory. The tres leches and flan deserts were sublime!! Service, ambiance and overall presentation were well done. One of the owners Mrs. Deyzi visited our table to check that everything was to our satisfaction. A very friendly and engaging personality! All in all, a marvelous evening. Will definitely return again soon!!!!

Had dinner here for Father's day. It took a while for our waitress to take our order. When our food finally arrived, all of us in our group except my wife got theirs . It took an additional 10 min before her food came. I wasn't too happy about that. Food was at most ok . We've eaten at other cuban restaurants and this ranks about average.

Food and service was excellent, only thing being seated in the extended parking lot where it can get chilly, but there are heat lamps, just in case have a sweater handy esp if have older folks with you

I liked the "open air" feel of the restaurant since one side opens to their patio. Service was good, everyone working at the restaurant was pleasant. We both ordered a different pork dish and although the flavor was good, the pork was a bit dry. But the food came to our table in a reasonable amount of time and our server was attentive. We were there a little early so the band had not yet started playing. And...the plantain chips and garlic dipping sauce were AMAZING!

We ate at Isla last week for my guy’s birthday with our 2 daughters. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was perfect for a Tuesday evening. Definitely a welcome step up from old school Felix in Orange. We toasted with a Pina Colada, Mojito and Dominican Passion drinks. I had the Pollo Asado Isla which was moist and tasty. My guy loved the sopa de pollo. The Masitas de Puerto was excellent and my step-daughter’s pork mofongo was to die for. We also had appetizers—the papas rellenos, tostones rellenos and yucca cheese balls were all very good. We’ve been going to Felix and Big Ed in Cypress for years so I’m really glad to have another great Cuban restaurant nearby that has atmosphere. Can’t wait to go back.

We had reservations but still had to wait 30 minutes. Seated in an area where there’s so much foot traffic that we kept getting our chairs bumped. Lighting was so bad that we couldn’t even see our food. Our server is friendly but tends to disappear on us from time to time.

A beautiful interior space with wood, mirror, crystal wall sconces and several crystal chandeliers! A roomy outdoor area with plenty of comfy seating and heat lamps. The band can be seen from both inside and on the patio. The service was very attentive and friendly! The food was very tasty starting with plantain chips with a garlicky dipping sauce, appetizers and enjoying our main entrées. We enjoyed a generous piece of birthday cake and finished off a pitcher of Mojoto’s. The pipes in music and of course the live band were the icing on the cake and gave us a most festive mood! We loved everything… we will definitely be back! 😁💕

Even though we made a reservation, still took almost an hour to get seated. This place needs to put into place a time limit and enforce it. Other restaurants have no problem enforcing a time limit rule. Food was good. Music way too loud. Cannot even converse with the person sitting right next to me. The live band was better. Server was great with great recommendations.

Everything about our visit was great but requested outside seating on our reservation but still got sat inside. we know the music is very loud so we opted for patio seating. we didn’t know we couldn’t sit outside until we arrived. the hostess seemed a little rude when i asked about our patio reservation. she explained the patio was reserved for another party but i don’t understand why no one called us to let us know our seating selection couldn’t be accommodated. everything else was great it was just that minor inconvenience and slightly rude hostess.

This is our second time to this restaurant and it did not disappoint. I ordered the steak plate and my hubby the oxtail and both were delicious. The music is pretty loud so you have to talk louder to each other in order to hear the conversation, but it didn’t really bother us. The service was good and really enjoyed our time there. Definitely one of our go to place for Cuban cuisine.

Sorry, but I cannot give a good review on the quality of the food that we order . The pork was dry even with so call mojo, this does not have a state of anything no lemon, no garlic, no salt, and oregano tasteless completely. The Yuca con mojo is the same no salt, no taste, flaw. The congri was made by a beginner, no clue how a congri is made or tasted. The best was the plantains and I'm sure they come from a Goya Box. The rice pudding has no taste, whoever is making this dessert should go look at least on the internet and find out how to make rice pudding Cuban style. Very disappointed that I invited a family member on his birthday to celebrate at this call restaurant.

Excellent, tasty food and if you like garlic, you will be in your element. Dinner started with good cocktails, except for my margarita, which tasted like it had seltzer in it. Cocktails were followed by empanadas, yucca cheese balls and tostones rellenos with chicken. For the entre, 4 in the party ordered a pork dish that was served with beans, rice and ripe cooked plantain called lechón asado. I had mofongo with garlic shrimp. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and the mofongo had tons of flavor and was delicious. I would definitely have this dish again. For dessert we had tres leches cake which was good but not exceptional. I recommend Isla Cuban Latin Kitchen and Rum Bar

The live entertainment was great. However, it was as loud as a nightclub. You couldn't talk over your meal. The food was ok. The person picking up our plates knocked over a glass with water and didn't attempt to help us clean it up. He disappeared. We were left with cleaning up all the water.

Delicious Cuban food! Mofongo was chef’s kiss amazing, and the plantain chips were also perfectly paired. I recommend the any steak/beef and ceviche. Decor was very classy, but I didn’t feel out of place. Parking is not a problem here.

Service folks need to be trained to take care of the customers. We had three at the table and I asked for lemon. So, he brought one lemon instead of the 3 for the rest of the party. I asked for a spoon so we could serve since we were splitting plates. I guess I should have said a large serving spoon because I got one small spoon. We needed to ask for water all day. I loved how they turned on the volume of music so we could not speak over and listen to each other. I asked where people danced and he said there was no dancing on weekends. UMM, on social media you always see bands and people dancing. clueless waiters!

Form the minute we got there we were reminded three times of our time limit of 90 minutes ok understood! Waited a while for the waiter but once he came over he was very attentive. We felt rushed the whole dinner we order appetizers empanadas and fried yuca , and our entrees when it finally came out it came out all together. Thats al lot at one time some cold. The Chicken ISLA was cold as was the rice and beans but my mom didn’t want to send it back. The Chicharron de pollo was over cooked. We eat here often so we know the cook was off his game for sure that night.

The Ropa Vieja was supposed to be in a salsa criolla. I did not taste any hint of lime or cilantro. If there was any aji amarillo peppers, there was very little. The Marista de Puerco was supposed to be crispy. It was hard and dry, especially the lean pieces. There was no crispiness. I suspect the pork was heated too long at a high temperature. The dip that came with the banana chips was too runny. It flows off the chip. A thicker dip would be better. The background music was too loud to hold a conversation.

Wow. We were so impressed with Isla Cuban from the moment we stepped up to the receptionist’s table. She was so personable and greeted/welcomed us warmly. Once seated, Elizabeth, our server also gave us a warm welcome. We ordered an appetizer (chicharrones de pollo) and a pitcher of sangria. Very tasty and fun. Our group ordered 4 different entres so we could taste a few different dishes. Everyone was more than happy. The food was tasty & flavorful and everything had a great presentation! We are all trying to figure out our return trip!
