   Excellent, one of my favorite sushi restaurant in NYC. I dined at ISE many times in FiDi before they relocated to East Village. My Friends and I always enjoy their omakase, we were never once disappointed in all these years. As usual, after testing the chef picked fresh sashimi, we concluded the meal with TWO more negitoro each! Yes two, it's that good!

   I’m so mixed about this place. The restaurant, which used to be operating in the Fianncial District and midtown (perhaps, it continues to operate in Midtown?), is known for the quality of food at a reasonable price (at least, when it had a store in the Financial Distirct). To be fair, the quality of the fish this restaurant services is really high but the price appears to be a bit too much for the location in its East Village Store. But what disapppointed me most of the level and quality of servers - almost to the point that they were so novices; why am I paying nearly $100 for a simple appetizer, a chirashi and a small carafe of sake after the services made repeatedly made mistakes in taking my order? Yes, the fish is great so you simply want sushi, this can be a really good place, anything beyond sushi, be sure what your servers understand what you actually order...

   The food was good and the service was adequate. However, there was nothing memorable about either. Considering the price, the sushi/sashimi was sub-par. Every dish had some mild but otherwise unremarkable flavor. The service provided was courteous but the bare minimum to be considered passable. On the plus side, the decor is just lovely. Closing time is @ 10 or 11 pm but the place gets quiet long before that.

   OK spot -- definitely not mind blowing. Food was good - sushi was fresh. We ordered edamame and shumai to start and half of my shumai was ice cold. Clearly had been lazily defrosted. It wasn't crazy expensive but not cheap either. We did not try any of the Soba which is what they're known for so maybe that is the move. Very likely won't go back - can get good sushi elsewhere for less.

   Great food, nice presentation, priced accordingly. Servers explained how to eat the less familiar dishes without being asked and without being condescending. Nice selection of sake.

   The food is very good. Grilled duck is excellent. So does squads. The squad's ink soba was perfect. Décor was beautiful and quiet. If the distance between tables are 12" not 8" would be great.
