When we arrived, the lady walked past us and went to the group behind us and seated them first. I was taken back as we was waiting first and she had said she would be back to seat us a few minutes before that, so I was slightly annoyed at that first impression. She looked rushed and stressed. She then told us we were on the bar side which I was completely shocked about. When booking a table for the jazz night, it didn’t give an option that there was the restaurant side or the bar side, It just booked us in. If I had known that I wouldn’t have booked as you can’t see anything. I spoke to the host, which was the man behind the bar and he said he couldn’t do anything. It was completely sold out until midnight. After 20 minutes the lady came back to us and said she could seat us in the main restaurant which was amazing. She really did try so I can’t fault her for that. She could only seat us as there was a no show. We were waiting for the live music to start. It didn’t begin until 11pm as the pianist was late. So we waited an hour as we got there for 10pm. We had to leave at 11.15pm. So we only got 15 minutes to watch. We were told we had to pay a five pound charge pp to sit in that area which would have been fine if the live jazz music had been playing for the whole duration. In total we had four glasses of champagne and the charge to sit in the area. The whole experience was disappointing. I had waited months to watch live jazz music. They needed more staff to begin with and to make clear where you would be seated when making a reservation. Another couple also wanted to sit on the other side as they were shocked to be seated at the bar where you couldn’t see anything. I feel like the jazz music/show was nothing compared to what the influencers got on the promo night when it first opened. Very disappointed.

We had a very poor experience with the service at this restaurant. We booked our table more than a month before and explicitly mentioned we were celebrating our anniversary. When we got there, we were put in a seat right at the back next to the entrance and when I asked to get a better table, we were told we would get onto the next table that was free. We sat in that table for more than 30 minutes, nobody took our drinks order or anything. In that time, another couple came in and got a table right in front of the band - we questioned this and was just told to wait for another table. We ended up sitting on a different table which was better but the waiter acted as if we were bothering him. He didn’t speak to us for the rest of the evening until we asked for the bill! Poor poor poor service. Ruined our evening

Booking was for speakeasy experience, which lacked the ambience of such a venue. Had to go to bar to order a drink. Trio that was playing took till 10:30pm to set up, so for 30 mins of booking was sat with contemporary background music, set in downstairs restaurant. Expected perhaps secret access for that feel of prohibition. Trip were fine when playing. £5 cover charge too. Could be better

We booked for the jazz club and had pizza while we watched, it was very good and the service was amazing, would definitely go again.

A lovely restaurant with great food and a marvellous negroni. Sadly quite quiet when we visited but would be keen to revise on a weekend.

Excellent roast (helped by the current 50% off Sunday roast promotion). Very attentive staff. Great room in a lovely building. Seemed very quiet (late Sunday afternoon). Had a nice drink in the bar after which was excellent. Will definitely be back.

We visited for Father’s Day and had a lovely lunch. So pleased with the level of service our server Sophie was so friendly and helpful. My husband had the Sunday roast and he said it was the best roast he’s ever had. I had a few vegetarian dishes which were lovely. Portions were generous. The server who brought our drinks over was extremely polite and very well spoken unfortunately did not get his name to mention. The pianist was amazing ! Will definitely be returning. Thank you.

The main host want not very helpful or accomodating, when asked if a corner seating arrangement would be possible he advised they were for larger parties however within minutes they were filled by a couple and a single guest & then when asked if we could move to the opposite side due to the lights and reflections causing disruption he didn’t even acknowledge it however the table waitress was absolutely amazing, very helpful and even apologetic for the host not being able to accomodate us The actually set up is nice however the main event was replaced and there were no notifications to advise which was annoying as we could r made alternative plans to visit on a different date had he known prior
