Isa Ratings and Reviews
Terrible service. We got there at 8:45 and by 10:45 we still hadn’t received our entree. The waiter rudely told us he forgot to put in our entree then asked “do you even want it?” Totally rude and ruined our Valentine’s Day. We ended up just leaving and not having our dessert. Will never return
We went there on Valentine's Day. The outdoor seating was warm and lovely. Table and plate were minimum decorated. Food was designed to be served swiftly on a holiday occasion, nothing fancy but tasty nevertheless. We had 4 different waitors checking on us and all were lovely. Overall great value!
Really nice staff and delicious food. The mushroom risotto is great. On the pricey side for food, but not overwhelming. A little slow with coming to our big group of 8 with taking orders, drinks, etc in the beginning. Otherwise, a staple restaurant and one that I'll come back to frequently.
Hey find meal with our son who is visiting from Tokyo. Among other things we had crab salad, Muscles, fish of the day, Lamb and tuna tartare. All were excellent. Our server was great. My only complaint is that the ambience was nothing special and the tables were too close together. That aside we are Shirley to go back because of the quality Of the cuisine.
Isa is amazing. I have been twice now: once with a group of 5 other people and we sat in the lovely outdoor space in the back of the restaurant, and once for a date. Between the 2 visits, since this is a share plates kind of place, I have had almost everything on their menu and every single item was delicious. Definitely a gem in the Marina/Cow Hollow area.
Loved it! This is my second visit to Isa in the past two weeks. It is that good and the service is that great! Jonathan was our server on both occasions. His ability to make you feel welcome and knowledge of the food and wine list is a bonus to the entire experience. What a delight! You can’t go wrong with any of the menu choices. Each one is different and every bite is delicious.
I have been twice before and was impressed, but this time it was a disappointment. We visited during restaurant week and the entire place was packed. The food options were good, but everything felt rushed and mass produced. The dishes came out at different times, but they weren't designed to be family style or tapas so it left one person just watching the other eat. The bread and butter was good and I loved the creme brûlée. For the high price tag I would expect much better service and food quality.
Went during SF Restaurant Week--it was all very delicious! Took away one star on food because the steak, while delicious, was not warm enough--it was a little cooler than room temp which threw me off. However it was still very tasty.....just the wrong temp.
The salmon carpaccio also didn't wow us as much of the other dishes did in terms of flavor.
Everything else was perfect!
Went for the tonight for the SF restaurant week menu. This was quite the perfect way to showcase the food; it was prix fixe but you had different choices for the 4 course meal. The arugula salad was actually arugula; not a the previous dinner where they served me radicchio.
My wife and I shared most of the meal but we ordered separately . The soup was light but the fennel was still present and well balanced. Then the salmon and mussels were next and they salmon was okay with the capers making it the tartare. The mussels nice and small but slightly over cooked but the sauce was great it had an umami to it that complemented onion and tomatoes, I wish was more sauce at the bottom of the dish.
For the mains we had the scallops and steak. The scallops were perfectly cooked with a mash potato and vegetable. A nice seer to caramelize and bring the sweetness out. The steak was good nice flavor with the sauce and fingerling potatoes roasted just right.
Finally the dessert creme brûlée and semifreddo with almond flavors. They were what you expected nice balance creamy mousse almond flavor with 3 cookies . The creme brûlée had nice brûlée on top nice crack to it and the creamy texture was just right not too dense.
This was a nice surprise and the was some passion in the cooking and will highly likely to be back
Isa’s Restaurant Week menu offered a wide selection of food compared to other places. Portions are decent and each dish had a good amount for two people to share. My favorite was the scallops! Their complimentary bread was crunchy and addicting.
The patio seating is cute and romantic - perfect for a date or specific occasion.
We had prixe fix menu (it was restaurant week). Four courses was more food than we could consume, but all of it was delicious. The yellow fin tuna was melt-in-your-moth delish! Duck breast had a reduction sauce that was fantastic. Mussels were very good too. Only the arugula salad was ho-hom. The service was great & they were especially fast because they knew we had theater tix. Will definitely go again.
Came here as a random choice because it was close to our hotel and we couldn't have been happier with our experience.
I and my boyfriend agreed this was the best meal we've had in a long time. At first glance the pricing looked a bit high for our tastes but I'd say it was well worth the cost.
It was pretty crowded which made the place a bit noisy, but we lucked out with a cozy little window seat and really enjoyed ourselves.
This place certainly delivered on great food and a nice experience. I would come back here again next time I'm in San Fransisco.
Friendly server and very accommodating (too bad I forgot his name). We enjoyed the pre-fixe menu during the Restaurant Week. The mussels were delicious, the sole was moist and crispy, and loved the scallops. I thought the duck was a little gamey for me, but it was moist and tender. My friends enjoyed them just the same. We all enjoyed the warm toasty bread that we constantly asked to be refilled. The $1 oysters were really good and went well with our great cocktails! A great meal was had with great friends!
The staff was very attentive and friendly. Couldn't have asked for a better one especially since we asked for a lot of bread and butter throughout the meal. The food was delicious but we were quite disappointed with how we were given our food at different times. As a party of six, we wanted to eat each course around the same time. Our appetizers were given noticeably far apart and it was worse when it came to our second course. Our food had gone cold by the time everyone was served their second plate and it was really disappointing for our celebration. Our servers were great- their kitchen needs to work on working faster for their price point. Maybe go with just another person so there's not too many dishes to wait on.
