Delicious experience with restaurant week. Reservations recommended. The only con was that appetizers took half a lifetime to arrive - pretty sure they were fishing for my mussels during that wait.
Very good food and service… plates were a bit small but very delicious
Can't rave about the food enough! The four-course meal was absolutely delicious! The crab salad was flavorful but delicate and the duck breast was succulent. Overall the dinner was a superb experience.
Great setting for date night or a special occasion.
Well the reservation I made asked if there was a special occasion. I indicated it was birthday. This was not at all acknowledged by the staff which was sad for the birthday boy
It took 45 minutes for staff to take our order after we had been seated. It was taken incorrectly. And it took 3 hrs by the time desert was brought (4 course meal).
Three of us ate the prix fixe four course dinner, all of which was wonderful. Everything was delicious. We all began with soup--lobster broth with shrimp that was delicate and flavorful. For appetizers, we ordered yellowtail sushi, arugula salad, and shrimp. For mains, we had chicken with mashed potatoes (comfort food and good), spaghetti, and halibut with capers (great). All of us had creme brulee for dessert. I was with out-of-town visitors and am so glad they were treated to one of SF's consistently terrific restaurants.
Too expensive for what it was, prefixed menu with tiny portions. I went home feeling hungry. Wouldn’t come back here again.
Good experiences during the SF Restaurant 2021 in October.
We were there during restaurant week and got the $65 price fixe, with four courses. Yellow fin tuna in a timbale with just the right touch of spice. Wonderful duck breast medium rare in huckleberry sauce rare with crackling skin. Tender, tasty halibut. Great Gorgonzola cheese course to finish. Our server Jonathan was friendly and helpful.
This was the 3rd year we have come for the SF Restaurant Week menu. It's one of the absolutely best choices, both for food quality and amount, and number of choices per course! Our server Debbie was particularly nice to my sister, who arrived stressed-out after a traffic delay. The meal was as good as ever: essence of lobster in the broth, succulent prawns, tender lamb, perfectly textured creme brulee. And a large pour of wine - who could ask for more for $65?! Love this restaurant!
We went for SF Restaurant week and had the set menu. While the service was great, the food was ok. The soups for the first course, Lobster Bisque and Potato Leek, were both watery and flavourless. They should either be eliminated or improved. That said, the appetizers, hamachi crudo, toro tartar, arugula salad, were all excellent. The main entrees were good but not great. The duck was a bit cold, the tarragon butter on the steak was way too strong, the scallops were excellent. The desserts hit the right finish. Valrona ice cream and creme brulee stand out as very good. So in all a mixed bag but we would return to try again.
2.5 hours + tiny portions + crowded space + no vaccination card required. My fiance and I were both hungry afterwards and had to find another restaurant open in SF after the supposed 4 course meal.
Don't recommend visiting during restaurant week and will not visit again.
The staff was hustling! They were so good and efficient and friendly. I know everyone is short staffed these days but everyone working throughout the night was so on point. Very pleasant experience. Would go back
Neighborhood gem with great cuisine, presentation and wine list. Service is friendly and fun. The owner is a beautiful person.
Food is amazing! We had the truffle risotto and scallops and both were incredibly delicious.
Isa was one of my favorite restaurants when I lived in SF almost 10 years ago. Admittedly, I was worried if anything has changed, with so many great restaurants moving in and then the pandemic. It was my anniversary weekend but also an opportunity to catch up with friends over good food and drinks. Isa was absolutely everything I remembered and more. The ambiance in the patio was perfection! The food, which we ordered everything and duplicates, was divine! The drinks and service just topped everything else off. We all left happy and full! Thanks Isa!
Super good food, including the home-made ice cream for dessert. High energy and obviously popular. Would definitely return!
Very good service.
A bit noisy, but everyone was having a good time.
we had the seabass and the duck. For appetizers, we had the lobster broth. All were very tasty.
Food was delicious and with the portion sizes we definitely needed two plates per person. My favorite was the baked goat cheese with a plate of bread and my husbands was the duck breast. We also got drinks, a gimlet and a sazerac, and they were delicious as well.
Great local scene restaurant. Excellent service and well prepared food. Sea bass specialty of the house is excellent-not to be missed.
Greta service! Great food! I’d go back again and again!
The food was delicious, and the waitstaff was extremely friendly and accommodating. However, we had very long waits for food — no food arrived in the first hour, and ultimately dinner took a full two hours, without dessert.
We will definitely be back! Isa is great quality and great value. The tomatoes in the caprese salad were even more flavorful than my own homegrown ones. The lobster broth was delicious also. In fact, everything was.
What a great experience and delicious meal. Went for a work dinner and was SO impressed. The staff was fantastic and the food was excellent. Will DEFINITELY be back!
Wonderful truly wonderful food. Every bite was splendid. Prices / portions are truly SF level but it’s worth it to treat yourself
Loved our celebration at Isa. Our server was superb and the food was exceptional.
Isa is a neighborhood gem with an outstanding menu, service, and ambiance.
Unlike other restaurants now working with a pared down, overpriced menu, Isa continues to be a desirable place to dine.
Every time we eat at Isa Restaurant they never disappoint. The pre-fixe menu is a great value with good quality food and enough to share with family and friends. The ambiance is very nice and the customer service is always superb.
This time we celebrated a birthday and brought a guest from Pennsylvania who enjoyed the meal and noticed the awesome service. Staff is always polite and accommodating.
Highly recommend and will keep coming back.
Delicious food in an unpretentious setting. Highlights for us were the seafood dishes. Special mention to our server Sergio. He was wonderful!
Being on the sidewalk was a little loud but fun.
Isa continues to be a great restaurant. You will be guaranteed a great meal and excellent service.
Really good and tasty food , served up in an outdoors setting on a buzzing street with atmosphere . Our waiter was clearly really good at his job, knew his dishes , and guided us to different dishes . My lamb chops were done beautifully - a warm
Pink and tender yet good bite . Flavorsome. The wines on offer were not overpriced and presented a good range of choice . We will
Be back !
Fish was over cooked and service was lacking. We felt ignored while tables with younger patrons got their full attention. Not great sitting in back patio.
We went to Isa for my boyfriend’s birthday with a party of 10. It was perfect. Excellent food, kind service and a lively atmosphere. Scallops and duck breast were menu highlights. Will definitely come back!
Great spot for an impromptu date night. Food was great and service was friendly and very helpful.
Let me begin by saying all the food was excellent. Its quality really called for white linen table cloths and the lovely big napkins that tell you the restaurant takes itself seriously. Instead, the tables were bare except for a certain stickiness best left undefined. The waiter who took our order was prompt, polite, and competent, but the person who delivered the dishes seemed to be terribly overworked. We ordered two appetizers and two main dishes, but everything arrived sequentially. One appetizer was finished before the second appetizer arrived, even though the lucky one who was served first patiently and politely waited a good long time before starting to eat. The first main dish arrived only a couple of minutes after the second appetizer had been delivered... and the server didn't attempt to remove the empty appetizer plate and dirty cutlery before just plonking down that first main course. The only reason the appetizer plates were removed at all was because when the server finally turned up with the second main course (twenty minutes after the first one), he found there was no room on the table to put it down. Very odd experience. The only reason I am saying I would recommend Isa is because the food was so good.
This was the second night in a row I went here for dinner. Totally different choice: scallops instead of sweetbreads, white wine instead off red. Equally happy both nights. Will definitely go back on my next trip to SF.
An excellent restaurant in the Marina. Food delicious. Waiter very knowledgeable about what wine to pair with different food. Comfortable back patio for outdoor seating, as well as tables outside on street.
