The restaurant wasn’t actually open for the time of our reservation...
Why is this restaurant on open table when it’s closed???
This is one of our fav restaurants. They make one of the best burgers in NYC. Of course, you add that with wonderful service and it’s a big thumbs up for us. Their manager Edwin always gives us the best service and makes sure to get my burger just as right. Not always easy as I am a picky eater. Can’t wait to come back soon
We opted to fine outdoors on a day when street construction was being done, so the noise (and smell of tar) was a little overwhelming, but not the restaurant’s fault.
Our meals were OK. I had the avocado toast with poached egg (the accompanying salad was a little wilted and overdressed) and my friend had the roasted chicken with a small side of roasted veggies. Service was lovely.
The food was excellent and the drinks are very good- specifically the Irvington Toddy. The music was a wide variety mix which added to the fun atmosphere. The server was nice.
However, one of our orders was mistakenly doubled which we pointed out as soon as it was brought out. They said “keep it anyway” which we assumed meant we would not be charged for the mistake. That was not the case and unfortunately I didn’t see the small (2) on the bill next to the dish until the next day. Put a bit of a damper on the evening since it felt a little deceitful.
Amazing server , don’t remember her name. Food was delicious. I would come back
Servers were especially nice. Food was good. A large palm plant fell over in the wind. No one was hurt, but they might rethink the plants.
We absolutely loved this place, everything was perfect (cocktails, food and team) and I looking forward to coming back during the winter because the big indoor room is just stunning!
This would have been a 5 star review had I left it at my first visit this past week. However, I was so impressed and excited about the the place after grabbing drinks with a girlfriend this past Wednesday night that I couldn't wait to book a reservation for date night with my boyfriend last night. Just to quickly outline both visits: First visit 3/4- Came in to a bustling bar area. I had arrived before my friend and happened to ask the hostess on duty if they provided tables for drinks only. To my surprise she gladly offered up the 1 open high top table they had right behind the host stand. It was perfect. We had great service, shout out to our server Luis(?) and that hostess. The whole experience left me excited to re-book it for date night with my boyfriend 2 days later.
I ended up booking a res on OpenTable and even put in the notes "drinks only please". I was looking forward to introducing him to the infamous cold brew martini prior to dinner reservations we had elsewhere. Our reservation was at 8:15. We showed up right then. The place was much more tame compared to Wednesday night. 2 high tops were open. 1 had a reserved sign on it. The hostess working last night was awful and the attitude she projected after we asked to be seated at a high top for one cocktail, offered to get up when the reservations showed up, mentioned that I was told just 2 days earlier that these tables were for drinks only too, and then when all else failed and we asked her about the bar she said "there's only one seat left". After that exchange she finished it off with "no, you can sit in the lobby and someone will serve you." I was disgusted and wanted to walk out immediately but my bf sat us in the lobby and we made due. We ended up leaving exactly 1 hr later at 9:15 to make our 9:30 dinner reservations. To no one's surprise, both tables that were open when we arrived remained open our entire time in the lobby. She completely ruined a great first experience...for what?
Service was friendly and efficient. Couldn’t ask for more. Food excellent all around.
Very strange that everyone of us in this dining room was made to sit with his/her winter coats in the back of the chair. Can’t believe no one offered to check our coats
Bathroom miles away from dining room I. Hotel
the service was very poor. The waiter didn't even care about us throughout brunch. Had to go to the hostess to get a refill of coffee then to get the check. Food is OK
Food was better than I expected. Service was attentive and friendly. I will be back.
Excellent food and the restaurant was beautiful.
Great food
We were a party of five for brunch menu. We waited several minutes for a server to acknowledge us and bring waters. All of us were drinking coffee and a small thermos carafe was brought which we needed to ask twice to have refilled. Nothing was anticipated by our server; cream for coffee, ketchup with fries, etc. The server was neither pleasant nor appreciative of our business. The space is beautiful, the food good, but the poor service will not bring us back to The Irvington.
Very slow service. Seemed understaffed.
Good food, nicely set up.
Very nice venue.
Service is slow.
It was SO noisy
With a reservation, still seated next to bar-impossibly loud. Didn’t have entree ordered from menu and forgot to bring two appetizers. Won’t be back.
How have I not been there before. Had a great affordable lunch in that neighborhood with super relaxed ambiance. Chicken sandwich and fries were different than I expected but in a good way. Special sauce made a crispy, non greasy chicken breast and good bun the perfect lunch.
The bathroom set up is HORRIBLE but I’m sure they know that.
Good food, courteous service. Only minor complaint was that we felt a bit rushed even though they seem to have plenty of available tables. Overall though, good experience.
Pleasant spot in a convenient location. Great staff. Bartenders are very professional and warm.
AMAZINGGGGG
Temperature was a little hot
Overall a good experience after we finally sat down - we made a reservation and still had to wait 30 minutes to sit down - not sure I would go again just for this reason. Food was really good.
We were looking for a late lunch spot but having difficulty as many restaurants were in between lunch and dinner service. We got a 5 pm reservation here. The waitress came up to us and basically said, you ready to order? Nothing like how are you? My name is...nothing except you ready to order. Didn’t tell us if there were any specials? Don’t know if there were? Food was tasty overall. Service sadly not so much.
This space used to be Todd English’s restaurant called Olives. It was great. I know he and the Corp have gone through some things.....now it is called Irvington. it is a serviceable hotel restaurant. There is nothing special about the food or the service. I frequent this location. I wish they would/could do better.
The place is very nice and well located, and the service is great. The food is just OK and it is on the expensive side. It means, according to OpenTable is an affordable restaurant, but it is not; they might need to correct that.
The price goes with the decor, the location, and the service. The food is OK. It might be a great place for drinks. The music and the service are very nice.
This local used to be Olives. Now it feels like a hotel restaurant with Olives prices. Nothing wrong here....nothing to write home about.
it is a good place to meet up in a semi-casual environment with friends or business associated. Its a comfortable place that is btw white table cloth and casual, hence appropriate for meeting friends or business people you know.
Good service with emphasis on looks. Burger excellent, pizza too salty. Good service. Great location.
Beautiful, modern wide open space. Attentive and friendly staff, moderate noise level to hold a conversation. Good food. I'll go again.
Great spot for lunch near my office. Food and the service was very good.
Very underrated spot! Lovely restaurant near Union Square. The food was high quality and the service was amazing. The ambiance was great, high ceilings, good decor. Highly recommend getting the artichokes as an appetizer, so so good. Overall, a little pricey but relatively standard for NYC, most dishes were under $30.
It was pretty empty for a Friday night, hard to say why - maybe because it is connected to the W hotel - but you honestly wouldn't even notice that's the case walking in unless someone told you.
would go again!
Great “date night” out for my wife and me! Food was delicious, it was fresh and well presented. The service was perfect, our server, Allison, anticipated some of our needs and made the night a great experience. Would certainly go again and again.
I had brunch with my friend on Saturday. Spoke with the hostess number of times. I don't know why I got no show after all that talking. Also the food was way over priced. brunch was just two eggs, 2 toast pieces with 1 jam type, and potatoes. I had to order sausages on the side. my friend also had similar dish. costs us $70+ and then I tipped them too much for that. The total with the tip was $84. I want to remove the tip and not return here.
Service was spotty and we were placed at a cramped table before we requested to move. In addition the shared bathroom with the Taco Restaurant were sub par. Really surprised. I have been to other Gerber Group restaurants such as The Campbell and Mr. Purple all top notch. It can only go up.
It's a nice place to dine because the service was great. No crow and very layback. Food was only ok.
good vibes, solid food, and excellent service. Recommend giving Irvington (in the W Hotel Union Square) a shot.
Got the açaí bowl - wasn’t good at all. Sour and soupy.
