Food was surprisingly pretty good, but the service was pretty horrific.
The staff seemed overwhelmed for Sunday brunch. It took us 20 minutes to get service. There are too many good options in that area to go back to Irvington. One and done .....
The food was good and the wait staff great, but the kitchen was very slow. I would TRY it again to see if that was just a one time problem because the food was quite good. It's definitely noisy, but not deafening. Good for a date.
Terrible portion sizes - like EMBARASSINGLY small. On top of that, Food mediocre - tasted like airport food - and very expensive!
Great setting and cordial staff, but it was so loud I could not engage in a comfortable conversation with a person directly across from me.
Was on the fence for 2 or 3 stars. Before I get into it, I want to be clear - my only issues were with the food. Service was perfectly attentive (dead Sunday night).
The food was extremely disappointing. I came here after seeing some solid reviews, and I wanted to try a new spot.
Everything we ordered should have been the “safe”
options. In general, most of the food ended up being mostly one dimensional (only savory flavors in a way that just wasn’t good. there was no balance) and bland.
Started with the octopus which generally doesn’t need much - you could grill it with salt, olive oil, and lemon juice and it would be great. I forget what it was exactly, but it was a completely overpowering sauce that destroyed most of the octopus flavor. And the octopus itself hardly tasted seasoned.
I had the pappardelle with short rib. The pasta was undercooked and sauce was bland. The short rib itself was cooked well and tasted good, but the sauce didn’t do it any favors (usually it complements it...).
My friend had a burger which he mentioned was forgettable, though the fries were good. Standard whatever burger fare here.
The space is nice and ambiance is on point. The value for the food was fair-ish given the area, but overpriced considering how it tasted. I would consider coming back for a drink if I were in the area, but that’s ut
This is a very attractive restaurant in W's Union Square hotel. The soup course was incredibly good, the other courses good. Service was good, but we had to leave earlier than expected and skip coffee because the noise level, both from music and other tables was extremely loud (we had requested a quieter table).
We moved to the lounge adjacent to the restaurant where there was less loud music and fewer patrons and enjoyed our coffee and visit there.
Great food, horrible service. Had two different ones and they were both horrible
It was very busy, I think there was a Grammy crowd as it was much busier at 6:30-7:00 than usual, noise level was off the charts. Food was good and service was ok, not as good as usual but understandable. Will go back.
Visited during NYC restaurant week - the special menu was intriguing and showed off a wide range of dishes. Enjoyed the Artic Char but the mustard greens with roasted grapes was amazing. The cocktail menu was well balanced with unique offerings as well as some well loved favorites.
This is really a nice place for a business meeting. Great location and food is great too!
Drinks were good. Portions were small for the price--husband's steak portion looked like an appetizer instead of an entree. Service was okay, a bit inconsistent. Had a booming bar area that made conversation in the dining area hard.
The food was really nice but the service was awful. Too much time waiting for a booked table and for being service.
SO UNBELIEVABLY NOISY, that we couldn’t stay to complete our meal. And no one seemed to care about how ridiculous the noise level had been.
Really yummy pancakes. But the helping is big. Almost need to split with a friend. All of the food looks great though. Super convenient spot to get to
My friend and I chose this place for dinner because it was located in Union Square and convenient for both of us. I thought the service was slow, the waiter was not very knowledgeable, and the food was fine, but not amazing. The space is very nicely decorated. I would suggest coming here for a drink or two, but I would not come back for the food. There are better options in the area and/or in the West and East Village.
I wanted to like this place, but multiple items on the small brunch menu were unavailable. The food was nice, but unexceptional. The room is wonderful, however.
Literally the best burger I have ever had in my life. Amazing!
Our lunch at the Irvington was delicious! We enjoyed our meals and great conversation with wonderful service! I will definitely book another lunch there soon.
Food was good. Expensive for what it was. Place is loud and service was a little slow.
Restaurant was very Loud. Service was Good. Food was Average & Overpriced. Would not eat here again.
Last week, with my wife and sister, I celebrated my birthday at Irvington. All seemed fine until the stomach cramps started on the way home from dinner. What followed was hours in the bathroom. The next day, I learned that my sister also spent most of the night in the bathroom.
Four days ago my sister called the restaurant and left a message for the manager. As of now, now reply. Nice.
Hot sandwich was stone cold.
This wasn't all that I thought it would be. The meal is good, but not amazing. It's a good option for a last minute date night.
Food was delicious and service friendly, attentive and professional. Noise level is pretty high but still upbeat, hip restaurant.
This was our third visit, it is always a pleasant experience. Food is good, although the menu is limited. Hip area.

Great location, friendly staff, awesome food and good bar.
Great food in a relaxed and beautiful setting right off Union Square. Good service.
Enjoyable but noisy
Food and service very good - great option for dining near my office
We were looking for a nice spot for dinner before a show at Irving Plaza. I think we scored a bullseye! Absolutely no complaints on any area. We'll be back here long before we'll be back at Irving Plaza. Everything great from cocktails to dessert, including the service.
Attentive service. Good food but a little pricey for what it was. Probably because it's in a hotel. Lively but the price is noise. You can tell by the decor it's going to echo. Hard surfaces. '
Great food in a casual setting. Flavors interesting. Great selection for people who like lighter foods. We loved it. Highlights: crispy artichoke, lobster roll, burrata, grilled veggies.
The food was absolutely delicious and the service was excellent, both times we've been there!
Fantastic place, great ambiance, friendly service. Highly recommended!
Took advantage of the restaurant week menu and thoroughly enjoyed my meal. My two daughters ordered from both the regular menu and rw menu and everything was perfect.
My only complaint is that the waitstaff is not as attentive as it should be especially when the restaurant was almost empty.
Came here to celebrate an anniversary, and I was really pleasantly surprised. The food was exemplary. It may have been the best chicken I've ever had in my life--and I've eaten more than my fair share of chicken. Everything was really perfect. I will certainly be back. LOVED IT!
We had the Restaurant Week menu. The food was good but not great. The service was ok. Overall, though not bad, there was nothing really distinguished about it.
Food was delicious! Server could have been a little more attentive.
