                                                                                                                              Iron Whale is a very well run restaurant in a great spot on the boardwalk. We dined there with our 2 young daughters for the first time and were pleasantly surprised by the options for kids. They made them Shirley Temple’s and was shocked by such a low $2 cost, which is unusual for a boardwalk place. The service was outstanding as was the food. Rather than ordering a couple of large entrees we ordered a bunch of their smaller plates which was a great way to sample all the different flavors. The tacos are a must have, especially the cod, as you get 3 overstuffed shells of perfectly fried fish. The charbroiled oysters are delish and reminded me of New Orleans. The jerk shrimp were a standout- Huge, spicy and perfectly cooked. Kids portions are larger than expected. My daughter really loved the ravioli, which was a huge portion. Try to get the side room overlooking the boardwalk and beach you want a quiet, bright, airy room with a better view.

The music playlist was modern and fit the outdoor vibe. Wish the outside was decorated as nice as the interior. Drinks could’ve been a little stronger (especially considering the price), but were tasty nonetheless. The food exceeded expectations. The lemongrass chicken dumplings were crunchy and juicy. My better half had a short rib grilled cheese which came on two slices of this massive bread. They definitely did not skimp out on the short rib. It also came with this onion jam that was reminiscent of honey that was to die for. I had a lobster roll with large chunks of lobster and tasted like potato salad, only with lobster instead of potato. Overall, it was a great date spot and well worth your time.

We started off with the roasted red pepper hummus which was light and refreshing. For lunch had the fish tacos (highly recommend) and the Maine Lobster Roll, which honestly could use a little more lobster. I've had lobster rolls at other establishments which have more lobster chunks. It was still very tasty but I would likely stick with a fish taco or salad on a future luncheon.

Not best we ever had, but good. Swordfish very good. Fish tacos good, but small amount of them. Rigatoni and seafood dish good. Service very good. But server never mentioned if there were any daily specials and I forgot to ask. Not thrilled the restaurant allowed a patron with a very loud dog remain seated long after dog owner done w/meal. Dog barked in an extremely loud and aggressive way for quite a while every single time another dog passed by which put a real damper on our "dining out" experience and a big part of reason we had dessert at another business. These other dogs were passing other dogs on Boardwalk without so much as a short bark. But the dog at restaurant couldn't shut up. It would be nice if restaurant did not allow dogs. But if they continue to do so, it would be nice if they would ask owners of loud, aggressive dogs to at least leave after they are finished dining. The noise was annoying.

The food was okay. We ordered calamari, pork belly appetizer, fish tacos, lobster rolls, a chicken sandwich, and a brunch entree. Everything was okay, not really anything exceptional. A very nice place for a first date or for friends getting together for a drink.

Everything was wonderful , we had the octopus salad & jerk shrimp ( not enough ) I had the plank Salmon , and dessert was key lime pie . Our waiter was great he was so friendly and nice knew what he was doing!! everyone there was friendly and attentive food was great and great menu so much to choose it’s hard to narrow down with out ordering every app oysters were fresh and great drinks were on point the bloody whale was one of the best bloody Mary’s I be ever had! Definitely can’t wait to go back when the weather is better and you can enjoy the beach view! Definitely check it out it won’t disappoint and you’ll feel ao welcomed by the staff!!

                                                                                                                              We ate here to celebrate Mother's Day with my wife, our two grown children and me. The location and atmosphere are tremendous...we had been here before for drinks at the very long bar. The food was hit and miss. For appetizers, we ordered the shishito peppers and chicken/lemongrass dumplings, both of which were very good, especially the dumplings. For entrees, we had two taco dishes (Roy Boy and Tofu) both of which were mediocre at best. The corn tortillas were not warmed, charred or grilled in any way, so the tacos just fell apart in a mess. My fish was very crispy and tasty, but was not hot. The tofu tacos were bland. On the other hand, the other two entrees were outstanding...the cedar plank salmon and linguine and clams, though serving clams without crusty bread for sopping up the very delicious broth is a mistake. Overall, we had a great time and will be back, and just won't order any tacos.

Our server (Keys) was amazing in providing suggestions and service. The food was outstanding—we didn’t wait long even with the holiday crowd. Even the manager stopped by to ensure we were happy. Our server Conner was attentive, personable and very funny. The food was delicious. The scallops were amazing! Loved everything!

                                                                                                                              Granted it was a busy holiday but the food was miles below previous visits. Soggy, tasteless pasta. Rubbery octopus. Mashed potatoes with boursin that were overpowering - more boursin than potato. We had to ask for cutlery, ketchup for fries, sugar for coffee…it was a real disappointment.

My back was to the windows without a view at all. Food was good, everything arrived in a timely manner. cocktails were good. Would go back again and insist on better seating.

                                                                                                                              Food and service was excellent. Delicious drink and salad for appetizers. My husband loved the oysters. All our meals were delicious. I had salmon, others had mahi, halibut and swordfish. Everything was amazing. Ask for a table by the window, can't beat the view. A definite favorite!

I kind of wish they had a fresh fish offering for lunch here as the menu is very sandwich heavy. That said it's a great location and the food and drink is always good.

We had the halibut special and the waiter hyped it up so I was excited. Got my meal and there was no sauce. Fish was dry. We also got the bell and evans chicken and the only thing with flavor was the peppers. Drinks were OK. Overpriced. Not worth it at all.

I ordered the special, a Kansas City strip steak and it was pretty bad. I expect better quality for what it costs to dine here. The ok’d fashioned I had was pretty good, and the scenery is nice also, but I doubt I’d be back.
