Best bbq in town and the service is top notch! Love this place!
Started with with a couple of cocktails. Bartender came to table and custom made one for us. Very good. Finally decide on adult cherry limeadess. Delicious
Waitress was great! Menu selection was good. Atmosphere was quiet and due to COVID-19, spacing and masks were practiced.
We ordered the lite meals. Just right for us. Not too much food. We left feeling just right and not stuffed.
Recommend this for a casual evening.
Great food. Highly recommend.
Always a good experience. Didn't disappoint this time either.
I normally rave about Iron Star but...it has become inconsistent. The portion served to my dinner companion last night was noticeably lacking. I had just boasted about how great the food was and nice sized servings. I wish that I had taken a photo. Others around us seemed to have heaping portions so I am not sure what happened but for $18 for a combo meat plate there should be more than a few tablespoons of 2 kinds of meat, a small bowl of beans and 6 little fried okras. Very disappointed. On the other hand, my meal, the brisket sandwich and fries were good and seemed more generous at $13. 😏
Great social distancing and COVID guidelines.
Enjoyed the flavor of the bacon wrapped quail breasts, but they were extremely small bites. Also would have been nice to have a pat of butter to go with the dry and crumbly cornbread muffin. Flavor was good, texture was off.
Brisket slices were very tender, but lacking in flavor.
Loved the drink options.
Iron Star has always been a favorite and it did not disappoint this time either. Our server was wonderful. Sorry I can't remember his name.
Love the food and service.
The chicken tenders are the best appetizer ever!
Great service, great food, social distancing in place! All the employees wore a mask and hand sanitizer was available.
First time to be back here since Covid. Tables were extremely spaced out - almost too much which made the space seem very empty. Their reservations were full so it is odd they haven't added more tables to accomodate more diners since they could have had more tables both inside and outside and still been distanced. Asked about cocktail special of the month. Server did not know and said it was her first day. She went to ask but never came back. Asked another server and she did not know either but came back and said "it is somthing fruity with vodka." Well that was not helpful. Ordered something else. Original server kept stopping by far too often at first and then when we were finally ready to order was nowhere to be seen. After a bit we did order and food arrived promptly and was delicious. If they could add some more tables and address service issues it would be great. Portions were far too large also. Ordered the dinner chicken fried steak special which only came with mashed pototoes which was odd. Would be great if they could offer a lighter portion since it came with 2 large pieces of steak and a huge pile of potatoes. Would have like one piece of steak, smaller portion of potatoes and a vegetable. We ordered a side to share which was fine but again - would be nice to have dinner portion with a vegetable in addition to the potatoes that does not require a take home box or eating far more that any one person should eat. If you have an event or are from out of town, you can't always take food home after dining.
This is a great place for a business lunch or drinks after work.
The quail appetizer was amazing!
One of my favs!! I LOVE their deviled eggs, the jalapeño bread, their brisket, and the Mac and cheese is THE best in the world. I basically love everything they have to offer.
Typically, I would rate this place 5-stars. My wife and I both had the filet and it was not as good as it was in the past. It was too “char” tasting and was a little thin. We should probably stick with the bbq. Both of our kids enjoyed their kids meals (burger & chicken fingers.
GREAT FOOD AND SERVICE! FAVORITE PLACE TO GO AND HANG OUT WITH FRIENDS.
This place exceeded our expectations. I want to highlight the sides. The sides were exceptional and I may come back just to have a dinner of the sides perion
Delicious Oklahoma barbecue! My daughter is a vegetarian and she did not have a problem eating here. Great service as well.
Outstanding as always. The quality never changes so anytime we go it is as good if not better than I remembered. I got there for something only they make and it is amazing every time!
Lovely dinner, attentive waiter.
Food was amazing. Great service. Will definitely be going back.
Family dinner. Great food and service was wonderful. With social distancing a concern for everyone, there was plenty of space and restaurant staff doing a great job taking precautions.
Father’s Day dinner was amazing just wish they hadn’t run out of ribs. Also they didn’t have lemonade for their Arnold Palmer which was a let down.
But the salmon was great. Mac and Cheese was fantastic!
We really enjoyed our meal at IronStar BBQ. I love the flavor of the prime rib and the brussel sprouts are always a favorite with our family.
The food and service is always great! I especially like the desserts but I love sweets. There is never a long wait for your food either. Always a big plus. Love it!
The best BBQ in Oklahoma City! Hands down!! I cannot recommend enough
The food was very good and staff was super accommodating.
Tables were spaced out so everyone was far apart.
Food was pretty good. Sides shined a bit more than the bbq as it was a little dry. There was a table in the side room with us that was playing their own music from their phone overtop of the music the restaurant itself was playing so that was very annoying and distracting. They did have the best peanut butter chocolate pie I've ever had!
Very good service. Attentive wait staff. Love their St Louis style ribs, along with mac and cheese.
Great customer service. Everyone is very friendly.
Delicious as always. Burger with pimento cheese was great.
This is the worst experience we have ever had here, even though the last time we were there the food wasn't very good. This time the food was awful, I had the tenderloin salad, the tenderloin must of been an extremely low grade, as it was very tough and basically no flavor. The "cheese ball" thing they stuck in the wedge salad was cold and hard and tasted nothing like blue cheese. My husband had the ribs and said they wee "OK". This was the first time we were seated in the back, I understand completely the social distancing and spreading everyone out, but that room has no ambiance what so ever. I don't think we will go back.
Great As Usual
Was GREAT to be back eating at Iron Star. Still the best prime rib in the city!
I made reservations, the restaurant was closed due to everything going on with the COVID-19 observance. But no one ever called, emailed, or even texted. I came up from Midland to meet people there for dinner but we ended up going elsewhere.
Great service and food! The ribs are delicious! Try the fancy Mac and cheese.
Delicious and great cocktails and service. Can't wait to go back.
Always love the food! Would love to see a different beer menu or better wine glasses for wine.
The building has a retro vibe and the decor is fun. We were greeted warmly and the tables are spaced far enough apart to feel we had some privacy, even in the open-concept setting. Our server was dull and seemed to be uninterested in us or in serving, which was surprising because it's her job. The food was underwhelming. The BBQ itself was boring. My smoked turkey sandwich was only a couple slices of turkey in between a bun. The cocktails were expensive and mostly sweet syrup; not many layers of flavor. The bread pudding for dessert was the best part of the meal. The only reason I would try Iron Start Barbeque again would be to order dessert for take out and skip the rest of the experience.
It was my first time there. Food was amazing!!! It was a very quiet Sun morning, not much traffic in there.
