                                                                                                                      Delicious BBQ! We ordered the Brisket, Ribs and Burnt ends and highly recommend. Our sides were the baked beans, brussels sprouts & carrots, and the sweet potato, which were also very good. Food came out very quickly for a busy Sunday evening. If possible request the room with the bar. We were seated in the back room, it felt more like a banquet room- not as intimate. For the food we would eat here again.

The food is usually exceptional and service is usually spot on. Our Father’s Day experience did not live up to our expectations. Service was non existent, including not having our waters refilled. The food was lukewarm and not as hot and fresh as we usually expect. We will be back, but this visit fell below normal standards.

                                                                                                                      Overall the food was good but some of the meats were served cold and the “fancy Mac and cheese” wasn’t the typical Mac and cheese my part was expecting at a bbq place. Not sure fancy is the right word. Everyone was hoping for macaroni.

                                                                                                                      Iron Star remains one of our very favorite restaurants in OKC for decades! We love to eat there often. The food is always great! We love the sides, especially the fried okra and sweet potatoes. They offer a wonderful collection of salads with meat. All the meat items are terrific. Last night I really enjoyed the half barbecued chicken. My husband loves the smoked turkey dinner. Our friends like the beef filet. They way these meats are cooked is really tasty and great! We enjoy going to Iron Star for lunch and dinner. Even though we live in NW OKC by Mercy Health Center, we can get there fast with Kilpatrick Highway and Broadway Extension. We love Iron Star!
