   Time and time again, I have given this restaurant numerous chances. Whether I have eaten in or made the unfortunate mistake of getting take out, The Iron Lantern has proven to be reliable in producing the worst restaurant food ever. From the incredibly rude owner/hostess who drily greets you as you walk in and who seems very miserable having to work with the public, to the outdated (circa 1984 ) decor that has not seen a dust rag in just as long to the horribly executed entrees that are either swimming in their overly salty sauces to drowning the entree in chopped parsley like its confetti! I had the sirloin steak which was rare and chewy at the same time, if one can imagine such a thing. ,Surprisingly though, the one thing the Iron Lantern has going for it, is the jam packed parking lot Friday and saturday evenings. I am always puzzled by this. Do people actually like their food? Do they have that much of a local following? Sadly I believe its the later. With their un-sophiosticated palette , I believe the locals think this is fine dining at its best. Remember these are the same people that wear sweatpants out in public and still think fanny packs never went out of style.So im trying to reason with the other folks out there that still believe in basic manners, like offering guests something to drink when they come to your home or putting the napkin on your lap during a meal, DONT EAT HERE1!!!!!
