Always great food and service sets the bar high ! Safe eating out with a great outdoor seating spaced properly and ALL employees wearing masks and following CDC guidelines.
Staff is always welcoming and friendly. Nachos are delicious and plenty for two of us to share. Drinks never disappoint. Covid measures in place made us feel appropriately spaced and able to relax and enjoy a date night.
I love their chicken nachos and for some reason this time.. they just seemed different then any other time. Also, the music is so loud. I wish they would lower it.
Best brunch I’ve had in a long time. New favorite brunch spot for sure!
Excellent food and service!
The bartender was great! Loved coming in for a few cocktails and something quick to eat.
Iron horse is one of my favorite spots to stop for a drink because everything is for fresh. Brunch was the same, very fresh, large portions, and great options. It is rare that I feel like I got a good 'value' with brunch, but I think it was very reasonably priced and I had leftovers! High recommend their Angry Ginger and house Jalapeno margarita!
Over priced and lacking in ambience. Food was nothing notable.
Iron Horse is by far my favorite restaurant in Royal Oak. Whether you're craving something light like apps or a salad, a tasty mexican style entree, or a great pizza, Iron Horse does not disappoint. Their socially distant setup allows for comfort and security while enjoying a night out in these new times of dining. Don't forget to order the Esquites and or a refreshing Kentucky Blackberry Mule. As long as Iron Horse is serving, my girlfriend and I will be coming. Thank you!
So happy Iron Horse is back!
Always a great time at Iron Horse! Service was top notch & food was amazing as always. Love that they have a cute patio now too!!!
First time here and it was ‘ok’ not sure I would go back. Small menu options, not a lot to chose from. Fish tacos were ok. Tortilla soup was good. Margarita tasted like it was a mix and not made from scratch.
The service was great and the food really tasty. The cocktails were fantastic! We'll definitely be back!
Gail was our server and she was fantastic! My allergies and such require avoidance of specific foods and Gail went out of her way to speak with the chef to come up with a delicious meal. She did not judge or assume that my restrictions were not valid and I appreciated that. She was simply the best! This was my first visit and I look forward to returning again. Great atmosphere with real food at a respectable price. Well done Iron Horse!
Favorite place ever! i will continue to go back for happy hour!
Quick service, good food, great drinks!
Enjoyed the esquites as an app. I had the angry ginger for a cocktail, excellent. The chicken tomales were very good. My family and I enjoyed the ambiance and all enjoyed our food. Small menu, which I prefer. Service was excellent.
Loved it here! Food was great, service was great! Loved their housemade chips and queso. Rest of our food was delicious, too!
Absolutely lover coming here for happy hour. Music was WAY too loud, and chips were extremely salty.
I was disappointed they got rid of the half nachos.. menus change up. But food is still phenomenal. It won't keep me from still going.
The Buffalo Shrimp Tacos were outstanding!!! I just wish our server was more attentive . . .
We came here on New Year’s Eve and were pleasantly surprised! They still offered happy hour prices and food came out quickly. Our waitress was excellent as well! We will definitely come back.
Firstly, Gail was a fantastic server! On top of her game, fun, friendly, solid recommendations. We enjoyed delicious libations and the food was spot on. We will be back soon!
Server was slow food was great as usual
Nice restaurant next to the theatre. Nothing very interesting on the menu. Tacos, fajitas, nachos, etc. Our meal was good, but the rice and beans weren't hot enough. Fantastic margaritas! I wish there were something about this place that made me love it, but it was really just OK.
Seever dis not know what kind of drinks were available. Took quite a long time to get chips and queso and cheesebread. When ordering, I told the server no guacamole, then my daughter said she would eat mine. The seever coukd have said “the fajitas do not come with guacamole!” Thus was charged extra for it! The food was pretty good. Table right in front of the door. Would have been nicer in the back. Our reservation was early, not knowing why it took so long to get food. All in all was a nice placw! The aeever also charged the happy hour drinks at the non happy hour price. She fixed it but it would have been nice not to have to get it corrected!!
Excellent server, very attentive to our needs and good recommendations. Quiet for an early Sunday evening and we had 1 of 2 window tables although the restaurant is just off the main drag. Burrito sauce was a bit salty but the chicken burritos were very good, moist not dry. Chicken Tamales very good, styled as cigar rolls rather than packets but good. Tre' Leches cake was terrific (double layer of spice cake with whipped cream) and we barely managed to finish (burp) most of it as it could have feed 4 people (4 inch cube) so we needed an after dinner stroll to walk it off.
It was perfect!!
A Royal Oak favorite!
I love going here. The last few times the music has been a tad too loud to have a conversation at a normal level, but it won't keep me from coming back. Gail is incredible.
Food and drinks were fantastic. The only reason I am giving a lower score is because their kitchen closes at 10. I’m not quite sure why they allowed me to book a reservation at 930. I had to rush to place my order.
Other than that, it was great!
Waiter was fantastic! Actually everyone was great !!!!!
Food was just alright, rice was under cooked and chicken was sort of dry.
This is by far one of my favorite restaurants in royal oak!
Great food and great service. Will definitely be back!
Amazing food , service. All was great. We had a table of 6 and they took reservations which I always love. Great for kids who have a more adult palette as my 10 yr old loved it too.
Good Mex food.
We initially picked the Iron Horse for dinner because it is next door to the Royal Oak Music Theater where we were seeing a show that night. It was also our 38th anniversary which I must have ticked off when I made reservations.
The food was really good and the ambiance was nice but what really impressed us was the service and staff. Two flutes of champagne arrived as a happy anniversary courtesy (thanks!) and as we were leaving seemingly everyone on the staff wished us a happy anniversary. A nice touch.
I met a girlfriend for drinks and dinner and the gentleman at the host stand who greeted us was very kind and welcoming. He also informed us of the amazing drink specials (half off!). Our server though was very hands off. She rarely stopped by our table and when she did she walked away before we could say we were ready to order. It ended up taking an hour after we sat to get her attention long enough to order our food. I think the ambiance is great and not too loud although a little too dark in the back area.
Iron Horse is one of my favorite spots in Royal Oak. Their tacos are excellent and the staff is always friendly. It's a lively atmosphere and open to the outside on nice days. Definitely worth a visit!
