Seever dis not know what kind of drinks were available. Took quite a long time to get chips and queso and cheesebread. When ordering, I told the server no guacamole, then my daughter said she would eat mine. The seever coukd have said “the fajitas do not come with guacamole!” Thus was charged extra for it! The food was pretty good. Table right in front of the door. Would have been nicer in the back. Our reservation was early, not knowing why it took so long to get food. All in all was a nice placw! The aeever also charged the happy hour drinks at the non happy hour price. She fixed it but it would have been nice not to have to get it corrected!!
Excellent server, very attentive to our needs and good recommendations. Quiet for an early Sunday evening and we had 1 of 2 window tables although the restaurant is just off the main drag. Burrito sauce was a bit salty but the chicken burritos were very good, moist not dry. Chicken Tamales very good, styled as cigar rolls rather than packets but good. Tre' Leches cake was terrific (double layer of spice cake with whipped cream) and we barely managed to finish (burp) most of it as it could have feed 4 people (4 inch cube) so we needed an after dinner stroll to walk it off.
It was perfect!!
A Royal Oak favorite!
I love going here. The last few times the music has been a tad too loud to have a conversation at a normal level, but it won't keep me from coming back. Gail is incredible.
Food and drinks were fantastic. The only reason I am giving a lower score is because their kitchen closes at 10. I’m not quite sure why they allowed me to book a reservation at 930. I had to rush to place my order.
Other than that, it was great!
Waiter was fantastic! Actually everyone was great !!!!!
Food was just alright, rice was under cooked and chicken was sort of dry.
This is by far one of my favorite restaurants in royal oak!
Great food and great service. Will definitely be back!
Amazing food , service. All was great. We had a table of 6 and they took reservations which I always love. Great for kids who have a more adult palette as my 10 yr old loved it too.
Good Mex food.
We initially picked the Iron Horse for dinner because it is next door to the Royal Oak Music Theater where we were seeing a show that night. It was also our 38th anniversary which I must have ticked off when I made reservations.
The food was really good and the ambiance was nice but what really impressed us was the service and staff. Two flutes of champagne arrived as a happy anniversary courtesy (thanks!) and as we were leaving seemingly everyone on the staff wished us a happy anniversary. A nice touch.
I met a girlfriend for drinks and dinner and the gentleman at the host stand who greeted us was very kind and welcoming. He also informed us of the amazing drink specials (half off!). Our server though was very hands off. She rarely stopped by our table and when she did she walked away before we could say we were ready to order. It ended up taking an hour after we sat to get her attention long enough to order our food. I think the ambiance is great and not too loud although a little too dark in the back area.
Iron Horse is one of my favorite spots in Royal Oak. Their tacos are excellent and the staff is always friendly. It's a lively atmosphere and open to the outside on nice days. Definitely worth a visit!
Very good but wish they offered a couple of better red wines.
This restaurant is my all time favorite! They have a plethora of amazing cocktails.
Our server, Gail, was amazing! So friendly, attentive and was so sweet with our daughter. She brought out crayons and a fun kid's cup for her. She made our experience so great, definitely an asset to your team at Iron Horse. The food was delicious and the best margaritas! Thanks for a great experience!
We LOVE Iron Horse. The food is always good and the service is, too. I recommend the nachos!
My family and I went on Cinco de Mayo looking for a fun, festive experience, but it was kind of dull and dark there as compared to a Mexican restaurant we visited same day last year. Thought we'd try something new, but the ambiance and food was just "okay". Service was friendly and prompt however.
Iron horse is by far one of my favorite restaurants around.
We absolutely loved this restaurant. We had an amazing server who explained all of their custom made drinks to us. We had the standard margarita and it was delicious! For an appetizer, we order the chips and queso. Also, to die for. I had the chicken tamales and they were delicious! Just as good as any restaurant in Texas that I have had them at. The interior of the restaurant is beautiful. Looking forward to going back there again during the summer.
Loved the food and our Server was awesome. Will definitely go back.
