Iron Hill - Center City
Regretfully both my wife and I ended up sick after eating here. I would assume this was a one time occurrence with our specific meal, since other people in our party were fine. That being said we have never had an issue like this at there other locations.
Great time with family. Food and service were great.
The place was amazing- you walked in and the first thing you smelled was like...WOW!!
The beer was pretty good - and a good selection of choices. We got their standard IPA and a Wit beer they had on tap, both pretty tasty.
The food was okay. I got the Brewski Burger with sauteed mushrooms, bacon and cheese. the burger itself just had very little flavor to it, the meat was very under seasoned so even throwing cheese, bacon & mushrooms on it didn't do much. I wouldn't recommend their burgers.
We also got the chicken pot pie which was pretty good, that I'd recommend.
Service was okay, the food runner dropped off our food and our server didn't stop by again until we were finished. He also reached across the table to take the check while we were finishing up our drinks, a big pet peeve for me.
We had to wait about 10 min for our table to be ready. There were many groups of 10 or more which were already seated, or being seated but despite this, our orders were taken in a timley manner, and the food actually came out very quickly. I had the naked burger salad and my husband had the shrimp etouffee. Both were a bit salty for our tastes and the etouffee was mostly sauce about 5 shrimp and not much rice. Nontheless, he thought it was tasty. I thought the wine was priced high for the brands they had listed. Still, it was a decent meal.
Service is fast. The establishment's approach is definitely to turn tables quickly by pressuring patrons to order quickly. Food comes out at a high rate of speed. This is a good place to dine if you are looking for a quick meal. If you are more interested in the experience then there are other places to check out.
Food was good. Impressed with how busy for midweek, but that confirms it is a happening spot in center city
We had the Harvest Salad and found the portion to be small for the price ($11 with no meat). When we asked for pepper for the salads, we were given salt & pepper shakers, while observing other tables being served with fresh ground pepper. We were given the bill without being asked if we cared for anything else.
Friendly courteous service. Fair cost and great location to convention center. Food portions were perfect.
Our server was very attentive- made great suggestions and knew the drink list well. Food was delicious- we had the wings, nachos, fried calamari and Philadelphia cheesesteak egg rolls to start- everything was fresh and came out hot and fast- we had salads and burgers for main course and each was tasty- salad was a bit overdressed but flavorful- we will dine at Ironhill again!
Great beer, great food, great service, nice open layout with elbow room!
A big shout out for Iron Hill. Keen prices and fabulous food and beer backed up by excellent service. Booked via Opentable at short notice was so easy and allowed us to get a table at a very busy restaurant.
Seamus was an AWESOME waiter! We can’t waitI to go back again!!!
Good for standard American fare near downtown. But won’t wow you.
Family outing for birthdays.
The food was good, our server was very good, but the hostess left a great deal to be desired. In fact, if this is the way she treats other customers, then she is not in the correct position
One of our favorites! Server was fantastic! Food was absolutely delicious! Will definitely return!
Went there on a Saturday night. Were seated promptly. Food and beer were great. Service was excellent. We all said we would return for a future visit.
Iron Hill is solid place for dinner, drinks with friends
First time at this Iron Hill Brewery in central Philadelphia on Market Street. Same menu and great beers as always. Wonderful service from Madelyn from Newark Del. Made sure dishes came out timely and that we had fresh brewed coffee.
Great atmosphere delicious food and wonderful service.
Overall, had a great meal and service was wonderful. We got seated in an empty section, which was a bit strange. Since they didn’t seat anyone else with us. We got placed over by the windows to the left and I would not recommend seating there. The large outdoor signs right next door was very distracting and annoying. It’s constantly flashing and very bright as in changed displays. It was the one thing that ruined the night, they need to get some block out screens.
it was really nice
Convenient to Forrest theater, great service and food.
Great food, timely service and friendly server. Host staff could use more training, though. Three people were staring at tablets when we walked in and did not look up to greet us until a manger approached. Even then, they weren’t very enthusiastic about doing there job and this was before the evening rush began. My sister also commented that the restroom was not well serviced.
My daughter chose Iron Hill for her birthday dinner. She was turning 7 and chose Iron Hill because of its large menu and the fact that there was something for everyone in our family. When we arrived we were not greeted at the desk right away . We waited to be acknowledged even though there were 5 people at the desk. After checking In early ( we had a 6 pm reservation, and arrived at 530) we were sat promptly. Our server introduced themselves and brought us waters. While friendly he did not add anything to our experience. We found ourselves waiting for a good part of the meal on the server for drink refills, to take our order to take our order, to check back for dessert and to give us the check. Very lackluster especially since I noted on the reservation was noted that this was a special occasion . The food was fine but not mind blowing, 6 ounces of greens for a salad that was $15 , and 8-10 fries on a side order . We decided on not getting dessert because of the previous wait . Overall I was pretty let down in the experience . This may be better for a casual grab and go.
Casual atmosphere, Great service. Falafel sandwich was excellent. Good home brewed root beer. Would recommend it for friends hanging out.
The service here was excellent, the food was good value but not exceptional. The beer was very good! Having a table next to the restroom meant high amounts of traffic passing between our table and the wall, minor issue really! Overall very good and would use again!🍺
I enjoyed everything about this restaurant from the service down to the price of the food
Mike was our server he was awesome!!
From the moment we stepped in until our final goodbyes, the staff treated us like gold. Daniel our waiter was incredible. At first, I ordered Soft Pretzels. Then Daniel after placing order for my wife's appetizer, gave me the bad news that the kitchen wasn't making pretzels and he apologized. He recommended the Voodoo Chicken Flatbread which was amazing! Daniel was attentive to our dining needs. Great sense of humor. Main dishes was good then here comes the dessert, Russian Imperial Stout ice cream on top of the apple crisp. Instead of the standard one scoop, Daniel have is 2! Delicious! Choice of beers was more than adequate and the explanation of every beer with matching food choices was extremely helpful. Conclusion: Iron Hill Brewery is centrally located, right across the street from the convention center. Wide variety of quality food and beers. Can be a bit crowded for a date due to noise levels but not annoying. Make reservations. We were seated immediately upon arrival.
We were going to see “ the piano guys” that night
Simply awesome service and food!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Little noisy and tough to hear across the dinner table. Otherwise, no complaints!
We have never been to Iron Hill and really enjoyed our apps and main meal. It was fun trying new beers and our server was delightful and helpful with choices. The noise level was a bit high but it did not deter was from enjoying our evening.
Great service and food
Iron Hill - Center City makes a great pre-theatre stop. Highly recommend getting a reservation, at least on a Friday night, because there's quite a crowd. Location is across the street from SEPTA train station and 3 blocks from the Forrest Theatre. Mushroom soup is the best on a chilly and rainy evening. Our burgers were prepared exactly to order for fixings and done-ness. Overall great value for food and beers. First time in the Philly location, not our last.
Excellent find! Fall flavored beer flight is awesome.
We are regulars at the Iron Hill in North Wales, PA, but we were in Philly for the weekend and thought we would try the Center City location. The food, beer, and service were typical of what we have come to expect of Iron Hill - consistent and well above average. the evening was beautiful and Iron Hill's reliability of food and service helped us to enjoy our time together without additional concern.
Excellent location for casual every day center city dining. The restaurant is directly across the street from Jefferson Station which gives easy access to the regional rail lines.
