Iron Hill Brewery - Phoenixville Ratings and Reviews
We dine at Iron Hill regularly. There food is consistently good. We don't love their beer; there are other breweries close by with much better beer. The acoustics in the restaurant are horrible and this visit was especially bad as there were three large groups seated in the dining room. We could not even hear each other at our table of four. BEWARE! We ended our meal quickly and came home for dessert and coffee.
We made a reservation for a group of 14 and were extremely pleased with the way our large group was accommodated. We requested and received separate checks, our waitress was highly effective and very friendly, and the food was served in a timely manner. Beer selection was great and the food was delicious!
Our reservation didn’t save us from waiting 15-20 minutes for our table. We had been to Iron Hill once before at another location and had trouble deciding what we wanted, it all sounded good, this visit was the opposite. My appetizer, a seafood soup was, if I am generous, lukewarm. It tasted like they had taken it out as a clump from the freezer and warmed it up in the microwave. My main course, a pizza, was also tepid in temperature. The positive of our visit was Emma, our waitress, who was attentive and energetic.
I was attending training nearby and happened upon this gem with the help of OpenTable app. There is only street parking available, so it took a little more time than I'd expected only because I was unfamiliar with the area. I started off with the porter, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I asked the server about the Jaegerschnitzel, which she enthusiastically recommended. It did not disappoint! I even ate the green beans!
We made reservations for seven but additional people wanted to join us...I called an hour before our reservation and they accommodated us, no problem. Our server, Nicolette, did an awesome job and the rest of the staff jumped in to bring anything else we requested. Even with such a large party, Nicolette was happy to keep track of everyone's orders and split our bill into three separate checks. It was a fun night with great food and wonderful service. Highly recommend it!
Have always loved Iron Hill. However, the waitress that started with our table was painfully slow. We waited almost 30 minutes to order and get everyone's drinks. We were one of two tables in the dining room, so they were not very busy. I believe she overheard us complaining about her and we then had a new waitress. The second waitress was on the ball and did a great job on the second half of our visit.
We are regulars and love this place. Great beer, great food. Staff is always friendly. I like the atmosphere, it's quiet enough you can have a conversation but not so quiet that you can hear the table next to you talking. We love sitting outside when possible. We've been going here for years.
Iron Hill always has predictably good food. There were very few people in the dining room when my friend and I were there, but the server seated a loud party with a small noisy child at the table right next to our booth, which made it hard for us to hear each other. Oh, and every time we thanked our server for bringing something or for checking on us, she replied "No problem." I'm glad we didn't put her out!
My chicken friend chicken had a great gravy and the potatoes and cornbread were good. The wilted spinach was bitter and overcooked. I was surprised about how hard and tasteless the top of the cherry cobbler was. Also, the cherries were too sweet for me.
The room is rather dark and there is too much noise for me.
Iron Hill Phoenixville is our go to spot for a quick lunch or dinner because the food quality and service are always consistent. I ordered the Red Chili Shrimp from the healthy options menu this time and was surprised to find that it was mostly a black bean burger and 5 tiny shrimp floating in some corn and broth. Maybe consider changing the name to "Black Bean Cake with Chili Shrimp".
