Iron Hill Brewery - Lancaster Ratings and Reviews
Food was excellent. I appreciated the large selection of gluten free items. Had the chicken sandwich on gluten free bun. The bun was tastier than most GF types, but the bottom part of it crumbled apart....still, it was better than most, so I didn't mind terribly. My friend who is very picky really enjoyed it also. Acoustics were poor though, making conversation somewhat difficult.
The very best turkey burger I have EVER had!!! So nice to get a lean turkey burger without grains and crap added! It was amazing and the bun was delish. Had sweet potato fries but they should be called sweet potato wedges...they were good but would have prefered thinner cut and crispier. Highly recommend making reservations in advance (we did!) and it was a great move; there was quite a wait.
Nice mid-way meeting spot for friends. Reliable food and menu -- always has something for everyone and usually everything is good to great. A few things are hit and miss. Artichoke dip is bland, but the marghertia pizza is great. Fries are always good. I'd call it very good pub food. My friends love the beer selection. If you sit in the bar, they do have sports on TV, so expect liveliness!
As always, the food (except dessert) was outstanding. Fried Mac/Cheese was served with an amazing spicy sauce. Guac and chips were great. Filet mignon was tender, cooked perfectly, and served with fabulous smashed potatoes. Chicken fried chicken was also cooked perfectly -- crispy on the outside with moist, tender white meat of chicken breast inside. Sadly, the desserts did not match the rest, so I took away a star for food. The creme brûlée was not a usual sweet custard -- it seemed more dense and flavorless. Not being a food critic, I can't pinpoint the problem -- kind of like whipped cream mixed with custard? But not sweet, except for the caramelized topping. And the apple crisp was not edible. Apples were not cooked enough, and it didn't appear there was any brown sugar/butter in the not-so-crispy topping. However, the ice cream accompanying the apple crisp was great and a huge portion, so we ate that.
This was our first visit to Iron Hill and our reservation was originally for the Frightening Feast. The evening before we found out it had been cancelled due to lack of participation we were a bit disappointed but kept reservation anyway to try the restaurant out. I am so glad we did we had a great time, great food, amazing beer!!!
I can’t even begin to express how happy I am with our visit.
Besides the food and beer being great our waitress was phenomenal. She took such great care of us and was so personable. I can’t wait to come back again!!!
Keep up the great work!!! This was most definitely a great experience for us!!!
Overall we were very disappointed with our dining experience. It was extremely loud. Our server took a very long time to bring out our food and drinks. All of our drinks had to be returned. Food was ok, but the service was very slow. It will be a very long time before we come back to your restaurant.
We were in town for an afternoon wedding. We came across Iron Hill on opentable, looking for a light lunch beforehand. On our way I texted my daughter, who had eaten there, and she responded, "standard American fare". I must say it was above standard for us! My wife had the Salmon salad and I had the ahi tuna salad, and both were exceptional. And the service was so quick, I could not believe they could prepare them that fast. We each had a beer, and you should know that they brew everything on site. We both enjoyed ours very much. Sorry, I can't remember which beers we had, but ask your waitress for recommendations. Our waitress Alicia was very attentive, confident, and friendly.
Check it out, I don't think you will be disappointed.
This was my first time at Iron Hill Brewery in Lancaster. The overall experience was excellent. I made a reservation because I know Friday nights are notorious for waiting an hour for a table. We walked in and were seated immediately. The drink menu is HUGE. They offer taste testing of their microbrews before you order a glass of it. For those of us that need the non alcoholic menu, I really enjoyed their flavored teas. They offer seasonal drink and meals. Our food came out in a reasonable amount of time and was delicious. The price was a little on the higher side. I would only come here for special occasions because of that factor. As a college student money is tight and cannot afford at $70+ meal weekly. Overall highly recommend!
Iron Hill is an easy choice for dining as it is always very consistent in terms of the quality of the food and beverages, as well as service. Pricing is very reasonable and consistent with the area. Two of our party had the Moroccan Salmon which they thoroughly enjoyed. I had the Octoberfest special to try something different and it was excellent as well. We don't get here very often and left wondering why as we've always had a great experience, so will be back soon.
We visited for the first time and were seated immediately. Service was great, food delicious with nice sized portions! I was happy to see it's a kid-friendly place, even though we were enjoying a date without kids! We definitely will be back and have already recommended it to our friends!
We came for the Oktoberfest menu and had an outstanding meal! We've had their Oktoberfest menu in the past, but this was the best so far. Of course, the Oktoberfest beer was excellent, but the food was even better. My wife had the Hunner Schnitzel (lightly breaded chicken breast) and it was moist and delicious. I had the Schlachtpatte. It consisted of a kielbasa, cheddar and bratwurst sausage and a marinated pork chop. The sauerkraut and German potato salad sides made for a really authentic experience and were perfectly rendered. It's hard to say which was best, but the brat was perhaps the star of the entire plate. This menu is only available for a short time, so get there if you want a great German food experience!
