Iron Hill Brewery - Chestnut Hill Ratings and Reviews
Mostly, the food was good. However, my pizza was doughy and was billed as a mushroom pizza (the Garcia), but had very, very few mushrooms on it. I had ordered a pizza when the Chestnut Hill IHB first opened. It was not good and I didn't order another one til now. I won't order it again. The fried Brussels sprouts and Breuben were terrific.
I am so sad that I forget our server's name because she was excellent: professional, pleasant, conversant and on top of everything. The food is consistent and is good. There were options for the vegetarian in our group. I would recommend reservations on a Friday night. It was very busy but we did not have to wait for our reserved table.
Food was good. Henry, our waiter was very thorough going over the menu. The only thing which made the evening difficult was that the Handicapped parking was behind the building and my friend had to walk around the block using her cane and being very careful since there was snow on the ground. A rear entrance near the Handicapped parking would have made much more sense, but we were told by the smokers that we had to walk around. We used the "emergency" exit at the rear when we left to avoid having to walk around the block to get back to the car.
We went SPECIFICALLY for King of the Hill Night, as last month's experience was SO AWESOME - however, our server never mentioned it. Despite that disappointment, as usual the food and atmosphere were terrific - it's our favorite neighborhood spot! But that was a real let down, after our server was so awesome during last month's KoTH.
My wife and i ate dinner here in new years day. Food and atmosphere were very nice. Can't say as much for the service. Our waiter was really very nice, but the restaurant wasn't that crowded while we were there. It took almost 10 minutes before he came over to greet us and get our drink order. Took him a long time to check on us after we got our food also. I wanted a second 22oz beer with my dinner but was almost done my sandwich before he came by to see if we needed anything so only got an 8oz beer for my refill instead. Also ordered a coffee with dessert which he forgot about. At least he forgot to outbid on our check too. 50/50 on whether we will go back.
I brought 3 others to have dinner. Two were children and they had a good time. Even though it was crowded it was not out of hand. The food was good and served quickly. The help was very kind and making sure we had all we needed. I would make a reservation (as I did) if you were going for dinner. I would recommend it to all!
I begged but they didn't give the Louisiana Gumbo recipe. That's 5 or 6 times I have asked, but no dice. What, do they think I am going to set up a gumbo shop in competition?
Nice get-together with old friends for lunch. Mushroom soup and gumbo both great, as usual.
hamburgers very good. Very good fries.
Salads were also very nicely prepared and presented.
We even had dessert--2 ice creams!
