Great food and great service - very reliable
A very friendly and professional staff that is always knowledgeable of the menu and the daily specials.
One of four or five Iron Hills we patronize and this one is the closest to our home. Friendly people, very well trained waitstaff, good food, good beer - what's not to like? This time 2 soups, one chicken, one fish tacos, 2 salads, don't remember the other 2 meals. The 6-person booths are a great feature for us, as is the parking lot.
For the most part, food was good. Louisiana gumbo and seafood bisque soups were excellent. Ribs were tough but management replaced them immediately for another food choice. Always a good time. Will return again soon.
We waited for over an hour for four entrees. Once the food came, the French fries were raw. Very disappointed in the service since our waiter disappeared.
The food is fabulous. The dining area is pleasant and does not have the high decibel level of the bar area.
This was my first time at the Iron Hill in chestnut hill (I have been to others)
I went with friends and we throughly enjoyed it. Service was very good
The lunch with fries and fish was fair. The fish had too thick of coating.
In the lunch with salad and burger, the burger was too well done, in fact hard. She should have mentioned it so that we could have returned it.
My shrimp and scallops was all right, as was the lunch of the person who had the steak.
Lemon pie was excellent.
We have been there several times as a group and t his is the first time that any of us has been displeased.
our waiter Sean was excellent....he was prompt and courteous. Food came out fast and he was attentive to our needs while dining. Very pleasant experience and restaurant was very crowded.
It's nice to have Iron Hill in the neighborhood. Whenever we don't feel like cooking and want some good food and drinks at reasonable prices, Iron Hill doesn't disappoint. Although it's a chain, it manages to feel like a local place.
Excellent. Great food. Beer was very good
Such a pleasant place, but I've never liked the food there. And we can't understand how the beer wins prizes, the ones we've sampled have been watery. It's a very pleasant place to dine and the staff are always very nice. But just gloppy, poorly thought-out food. This time, the nachos with guac, beans, and cheese had all kinds of random extras squirted and shaken on, which muddied the flavor. The pizza had a pale crust, with a dense layer of cheese. The pizza eater forced himself to eat some of it. The salad with seared salmon had a pile of little strands of potato, not substantial enough to make a difference. Just a ton of arugula, a piece of salmon, and intense dressing. And a stick of tasteless bread. Fish tacos were said to be tasty.
Greetings. I'm feeling so horrible about this poor rating of what use to be my favorite restaurants. However the food has gotten worse. There is no flavor to the food. My cheese steak egg rolls tasted like nothing. My daughter's turkey burger was dry and tasteless and the French fries... horrible. I told the manager and he apologized and I came back to try again. Still more of the same. The food is bad. Hamburgers smaller with NO taste. Salad taste like they didn't wash the greens. I'm heartbroken. But I'm giving iron hill in chestnut hill a break until hopefully they work things out. I think they need to talk to there chef he or she is failing the restaurant. Coincidently I went another iron hill not far away, and it was great!!! My Burger was AWESOME! I service was great too!! Again I hope iron hill in chestnut hill rebounds, it's definitely the location and the chef.. But for now... giving them a break. ☹
The service was a little dicey. I had called a day ahead and made reservations. Our table was ready but it took them about 10 minutes to seat us. Our waiter, while nice, looked frazzled. We waited a long time for drinks and then after drink a were served another 10 minutes just to order. Our food came out on but then to clear and get our check, we had to walk the restaurant to get our waiter. The food was good and I would recommend the restaurant.
This is our go to restaurant when we have guests from out of town. The menu has something for everyone. They take reservations and have a great space which offers plenty of seating. When we arrived the greeters were friendly and our table was ready. Our server was Logan, and he was very pleasant, attentive, and had all of our orders accurate. The only downside was when the food arrived. The food runners didn’t know whose food went to which person, and it seemed that each person had two plates that were at the opposit end of the table, and then the runners seemed annoyed, no smiles, not friendly while actually serving the food. Everything else was great, that’s just an area for improvement. Looking forward to our next meal at Iron Hill!
Great food selection. Beer list was good. Our server let us sample some beer selections before making a selection. Food was very good. Service was great. Definitely would recommend.
Consistently a great place. New menu items are excellent. We love it here.and go frequently.
Good food and service.. not a particularly special menu, but certainly serviceable.
Seated right on time. Server friendly and attentive.
We went there for St. Patrick's day on a Saturday so it was quite busy. Although things were a little slow, that was to be expected so it was not too bad. The specials were quite good.
My husband's birthday was in St.Patty's day so I wonder why the service was a little slow. They were able to accommodate a bigger group even when we reserved for fewer people. Super nice of them. Also, we brought our own cake and they were kind enough to take it to the kitchen and cut it for us. Food was good, my hubby loves the lamb/beef burger, I had a simple cheeseburger and it was excellent. Good place, you'll be happy you went there :)
Salmon Came out over cooked. My grandmothers meal came with asparagus (not as an add on but printed on the menu) and her plate came out with only chicken and potatoes and a massive hole where the asparagus was to be. They then brought her cold asparagus. Wait staff let dishes pile up on our table and had to be asked to remove them, they just kept bring out new plates with nowhere to put them. Never returning for food there again.
Well to start we had a reservation and still waited about 20 minutes for our table even though I specified that my leg was broken, I wanted to avoid being in a crowded waiting area. We were sat and I don’t feel the server paid us much attention, although as a couple we don’t require much typically from servers, he seemed to just check on us in a pass by. The food was just okay I probably wouldn’t recommend it. Overall the experience was fair but I probably won’t be back any time soon.
This was our first disappointing visit to Iron Hill and it was not the server's fault. We ordered a salad to share which was brought out within about 10 minutes. However, our salmon dishes, while tasty, were brought out before we had finished our salads. The salmon sat and was lukewarm by the time we ate it. The kitchen was definitely working with a different time frame.
Iron Hill in Chestnut Hill is always at the top of our list of places to go. Great Craft Beer (their own) along with a diverse and tasty menu, everyone is sure to find something they like. The server was good, and the manager came around to check on us. This time, we joined King of the Hill club ~ we like it that much.
this is my 3rd or 4th time at this particular establishment. I always have an enjoyable time here. the staff are professional and friendly and the atmosphere is perfect. Awesome for a group gathering or a quiet date night with your spouse. I do recommend making reservations earlier in the day or the day prior to your dining date. My husband and I had reservations and we were seated fairly quick considering it was a Saturday night . the wait time without a reservation was 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Highly recommend the cheese steak egg rolls as an appetizer.
My husband and I was doing a date night everyone and everything down to the food was great
Just really enjoy their great food, great service, friendly staff !
The staff was excellent. Food delicious. Definitely a kid friendly place.
This was my first visit and it was great. The food was delicious, the server was patient but the Restaurant Week menu was not flattering.
Our server was very friendly and nice. She had to be reminded about a few things along the way but it was not a big deal. The food quality has decreased some. We used to go here quite often, haven't been here in a little while, and wasn't thrilled with the quality of the food. It was still good but not as good as previous visits.
I take my family to Iron Hill all the time. We always come here because of the selection and the reward program is very useful when feeding a family.
My only greivence is that it got really dimly lito in the evening so having a business meeting with paper was hard to view the print.
Server had difficulty hearing due to a crying baby and small children. Other than that, it was fine.
Excellent service. Nice environment Food was great.
Four high schools friends got together, had a good meal and excellent service. Parking was a bit tough, but once we were at lunch it was great.
My second visit in 2 weeks while visiting the Philadelphia area. Will be back again. Great experience both times.
Service was excellent and we our entire party enjoyed their meal. I would recommend and visit again.
The restaurant is ok, nothing special. I prefer other IH locations (because they feel less like a chain) but go to this one sometimes because it's close and there's parking. On this visit, the food was ok but the sauce for "Thai Chicken Wraps" was quite salty. I didn't realize how much until I had the 2nd or 3rd wrap. I would have sent it back but I was too far along. The service is typically good. The restaurant is popular because it's family-oriented and gives off a neighborhood feel for those in the bar section. I would recommend to others that are less fussy about their food or just need a quick place to eat.
I like everything about this place.
