Superb, quick meal! It was perfect as we were in a rush, but really wanted to experience this Iron Hill! Will be back ASAP.
I've been there quite a few times and me and my girlfriend love it there.. We'll definitely be back again.. MANY more times..
The size of my salad shrunk! Chicken was delicious but very little lettuce and veggies. So disappointing. Also my lunch date had six fries with her burger.
1. Server had no personality or energy and did not return to check on us for what seemed like forever.
2. I was served cold soup, (returned it) which by the when arrived in something other than a crock sloshing and thrashing about. Bread within was dry, hard on 1st chomp and where is the star of the show...the onion.
3. My turkey burger was delish itself, though my request for avocado vs guacamole was mistake. Avocado was black, either from age or improper exposure. There was an over abundance of sauce applied to bottom bun with tomato slice, add a hot burger on top & I had a wet mushy mess. Oh and had one small strip of bacon.
4. I was served my burger meal in a metal trough. Didn’t care for that aesthetic. Are there plates in-house? I prefer a plate. It’s easier to reach in instead of over and in.
5. Is neighborhood spot will return but exercise more caution & ask more questions when ordering.
Fun spot on the Ave. really great salads...and a fun spot to hang out and people watch. Will be back.
I love the healthy bowls that they are serving now. My favorite is the Tuscan without the parmesan cheese. Then I can indulge with one bite of creme brûlée from my dinning partner’s dessert.
Salmon Burger, was not the best, had too many other filings that were not salmon, disappointing
Service was excellent thanks to Tyler, for the Exceptional service.
We got stuck with a stuttering hostess that should have never been put in that position. It was 5+minutes of hell trying to be polite and understanding. Her job should be escorting patrons to their table and that's it. I fault management for that decision. Not greeted with smiles from anyone that approached us. Beer was delivered warm because waitress forgot it. Apps overlapped our soup order. Waitress offered to help us, but walked away without clearing our dirty dishes that remain on our table til our entrees arrived. My wife's broccoli was raw - not so bad because we love vegetables- but someone else would have rejected it. We will never go back.
P.S. It was our 21 wedding anniversary and I listed that during my reservation, but it went unaddressed. Don't inquire about special occasions if there is no way to honor it. Totally sucked.
Food was cold and bland. Service was absolutely incredible. When I sent the food bank because it was cold and had clearly been sitting around, the chef came out with an attitude and asked again what I had sent the food bank for. Food came back warmer, but still bland. I've had good food here before, and I will go back. I just hope I get a different chef.
I got the beef stew as did 3 people at my table The vegetables were very good as were the potatoes but the beef was very hard to find Very very small portion. Maybe 3 forkfuls?
When you make a reservation, should not have to wait
The service was not as good as normal. It took a long time to get drinks and food. When the appetizers were brought out, the main courses were brought out 3 mins later. It wasn't particularly busy on the Sunday before Labor Day so not sure why the service was so spotty.
Ordered the salmon dish. There were 5 pieces of broccoli on the plate and a dollop of mashed potatoes - both were unseasoned (and you had to request salt and pepper!) The piece of salmon was also on the small size and the jam was no more than a teaspoon in size. I told the waitress my concern and asked for salt/pepper, she muttered okay, and we never saw her again until she brought the check.
Service poor- forgot our salad and you had to constantly ask for more water, bread, our food. Sever rarely came to ask if we needed anything.
Our server Evan was great. Gave great recommendations and checked in just enough. Having a friendly server is key when dining with your toddler.
The food was ok - nothing special. The quality, coupled with the price, make it hard to recommend but it is a decent local spot to go to in a pinch.
Would have loved to ate dinner this night but 1. out of my beer choice, 2. no rootbeer available, and 3. out of avocado for my salad I ordered. We had to walk out and go across the street for dinner which was absolutely fabulous. Sometimes eating local is a much better way to go then a chain restaurant.
Delicious food, service was good, great variety of craft beers, staff accommodating to our additional person added to our reservation. Recommended.
Food was mediocre at best. The steak was cold and had zero seasoning on it. Salt and pepper goes a long way. The apple crisp had an overpowering flavor of lemon. Waitress had taken the dessert menu from us while clearing some things from the table. When asked if we could see one she came back and said instead of bringing you the menu I’ll just tell you what we have available. Which is fine but with the brownie sundae she never disclosed that it came with nuts and that’s an important detail especially with somebody with a but allergy. Not that anyone in our party had an allergy but something that should be disclosed. We frequent the Media location and I have to say never had a bad meal there. I won’t return to this location.
I had to dine alone and the service was excellent. I got a perfect table for one and the waiter was courteous and attentive. It’s a busy place and I expected to be somewhat overlooked. It was not the case. Good experience.
Food wasn’t good at all. Service was excellent tho. And the dessert was good.
We were a party of 3 and one order was wrong. We were finished eating before the waiter informed us that the correct order had been “damaged” and it would take another 10-15 minutes to replace it. So my friend just ordered a simple salad. Restaurant was not busy and we could not understand why service was so slow.
The only good news was that my friend was not charged fo4 her meal and the restaurant gave her the original order to go (also free).
Overall it was not a good experience and would have been nicer if we all ate at the same time.
For it to be a big group the waiter did an amazing job. I also liked how the new chef came out to talk to us and see how was our experience. I will definitely be back.
This was the second time at this restaurant and we love it! There were more families having dinner and then we remembered before but it was nice. We had a booth facing Germantown avenue and could watch all the people go by. Food and service was good. We will go back again.
I was with a friend who had never dined there before and they were super impressed. The food was excellent and our server Grace was awesome.
Very enjoyable overall experience!
The food was horrible, my sides were very cold and the lobster flat bread lacked texture and flavor. My steak was not seasoned and it was over cooked. My broccoli was ice cold w no seasoning or butter at all, the asparagus were cold but seasoned better than the broccoli and steak. The most pleasant part about my meal was my server and the blackberry lemonade. My sons Mediterranean Salmon was dry and lacked salt, the string beans weren’t bad. I did not try the mashed potatoes. My mother, whose birthday it was, steak was cooked perfectly but still lacked seasoning. Her broccoli was also cold and not seasoned.
It as a great birthday celebration
Hot day but restaurant was warm and stuffy, They were out of the Tuna entree and Salmon entree which was a disappointment for 2 of the 6 members in the party. Other than that all was good.
The only reason I gave fewer stars is because the A/C was broken on a 96° day so it was hot as hell. But the food and service were great.
A nice neighborhood restaurant. Met with family from out of town and we had a good time at lunch.
Difficult to find-signage small. Was not aware of parking in the back
It was not crowded, but the service was SLOW. The front door/hostess staff were great. Our waiter got our order wrong, but he meant well...so we just lumped it. He needs to be able to multi task and put a little pep in his step.
Excellent service. Disappointed with the new menu - lots less choices and feels more like a bar menu rather than a restaurant
Our server was outstanding. He made the visit worthwhile. All good. Thank you!
Great service. I had the naked burger salad...delicious!
I ordered the crab cakes for lunch and the food was good, but not great. I gave the service one star because our food server was not attentive to me and my two guests. He took our orders and disappeared, so we had to ask others working at the restaurant to help us if we had a request. Our waiter forgot to bring me the glass of wine I ordered, so I went to the bar and got it from the bartender.
In summary, our food was good, but the service was awful.
A Friend and i went for brunch but the brunch selections were very limited, which surprised us. The serverthough nice took a long time bringing back some things we asked for and Never brought my friend the extra blue cheese dressing she asked for. The food was pretty good but my flatbread was overcooked, because it was soooo busy i decided to eat it as it probably would have been a while to get something else.
Lura is fantastic. Friendly, amazing service. 5/5.
