The food was all too salty and not good quality. It was very noisy and service was poor. It was slow and I never did get my beer. Had to go ask for the check and nobody came by to see if we needed anything.
Great food, excellent service. We started with crab cakes, fresh cooked potatoes chips, draft beer and cider then moved on to my usual - blackened chicken salad. My husband had a burger, salad, and a cheesy beer soup. We split the beignets for dessert. Everything was fresh, beautifully plated, and delicious.
Always good food and service with reasonable costs
Had a great dinner with our granddaughter. Food was great and we will be back.
We recently discovered this place and absolutely love it! The location is very convenient to get to after a Griz game. Food is best New Orleans style food around!
Kudos to the staff here who are hanging in and doing their best to provide pre-Covid service without the employees necessary for that. Our waitress was great and when it came, the food was quite good. Like many Montana restaurants, Iron Griz has had to cut back on days or hours open due to the much-publicized, post-pandemic labor shortage. Worth the visit, I'll be back for the yummy salads offered.!
After several years, the Iron Grip finally got their act together.
The menu is very interesting and the food good.
The service has always been excellent.
We will certainly become "regulars".
Great shrimp and grits and the dessert was wonderful!
Second time there and I wasn’t disappointed!
We have been to the Iron Griz many times. The service is great and the food is always good. We will be back.
I loved this place for its delicious food and great value. The staff were the nicest I've encountered in Missoula. The tables aren't crowded together like in so many restaurants. I'll definitely go back.
Overall fabulous food, service and experience!
Unusually diverse menu for Missoula, MT, The Iron Griz is an excellent choice for an out-of-the way place that flies under the radar.
The food was excellent. We started with the fried green tomatoes/pork belly appetizer and the biscuit and corn sticks with pimento cheese and honey butter. It was nice to have options other than the grilled Brussels sprouts and fried calimari found in many other restaurants around Missoula.
The main courses were varied - we chose blackened chicken over a buttermilk-dressed salad, a blue cheese burger, roasted duck and sausage gumbo, and étouffée with crawfish. We were all happy.
Kids have six choices for dinner. Ours, not very discerning eaters, had no complaints with their chicken tenders (real, not processed) and fries.
We split the bread pudding and beignets for dessert.
There’s a good selection of seasonal, local beers and ciders on tap and wines by the bottle or glass.
Iron Griz has a nice vibe - it overlooks the university golf course and even if you can’t score an outside table the patio doors are opened wide so it feels like you’re dining al fresco.
Food was outstanding. Will dine often at the iron Griz.
My reservation was cancelled due to major kitchen issues...super bummed!
Food and prices were excellent. Service was a little slow, but not terrible. We would definitely return.
Friendly staff and great food. Love sitting on the patio in the summer
Enjoyed the great food; nice atmosphere and good service. Had shrimp and grits and it was superb as well as the pear cider.
Great chicken and waffles, friendly staff, clean facility.
We enjoyed our food and service. However the reservation for the pod was not honored. Only one pod was available on the day of our meal, but on the day of my reservation there were three pods available to reserve. Fortunately we were able to sit by an open window. Without herd immunity we are cautious in large crowds.
Great food, great value, great service, fun menu. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Surprise discovery. Relaxed atmosphere, very good menu, and friendly staff. Have been recommending Iron Griz to friends and family.
Went there for a little lunch celebration with a friend. I had Chicken truly divine. She had a lovely salad; I confess I didn't notice details of the salad as I was too busy swooning over the chicken a nice treat. Lovely place, and people were all very friendly and helpful. Looking forward to going back!
Fabulous food. Loved the menu. Lovely wines at a great price. Highly recommend
Incredible experience and food! Small restaurant ran primarily by university of Montana students.
It was awesome. Locally sourced. Nice UM students waiting the tables. Lovely atmosphere. It’s all there.
We loved our experience here. Friendly staff, fun atmosphere out on the patio to eat, heat lamps turned on when we needed. The food was delicious and got great recommendations. Loved it!
Make sure you have Waze or something similar to find this jewell. The Sweet Tea fried Chicken was OUTSTANDING!!
Amazing food, ambience, price and value. Highly recommend.
When we arrived the hostess seated us right away at our reserved table (in the shade). The menu, quickly offered by our server, was very interesting and varied. It was our anniversary so we ordered wine which came right away. Our dinner was really good : blackened chicken salad and shrimp and grits with a crawfish appetizer. Watching the golfers was fun, and of course the expanse of green and the hills lovely to look at.
Love this place!!
The food was amazing! The shrimp and grits were fabulous!
Bread pudding 10 out of 10!
On a hot Montana afternoon we were looking for a light and cold meal, a salad specifically, and we were sent here by our Air BnB host. So glad we came, we were seated promptly on the porch overlooking a tee and a long scenic fairway. We started with the arugula bruschetta which was quite tasty with just enough toppings for the bread. We had 2 different salads which hit the spot, The Blackened Chicken and Strawberry salads. The strawberry salad came with nasturtiums, which I hadn't had in a long time. The strawberries were quite sweet and was exactly what I was looking for.
Only drawback was the golf carts which stopped right in front of the patio area, but were only there for a few moments as the golfers grabbed something for their round from the walkup window.
All Covid-19 precautions were adhered to and made me feel as safe as possible.
Great job UofM!!
Dinner was wonderful. The Culinary School does a great job.
The food and service were great. We had the hyper local salad, garden bowl and sausage plate.
Sara provided great service & the chicken sandwich was great
Excellent food, great service! Loved the shrimp and grits.
Very good food! Relaxed atmosphere. Would eat there again.
I love this place. Great atmosphere, good service, August is wonderful, fire is nice, all so relaxing
