Irma’s Southwest along with Irma’s Original have been household names in downtown food scene for over 17 years. Headed by the leadership of Louis Galvan and Irma Galvan, recipient of the 2008 James Beard Award.
Irma’s Southwest Grill is a casual elegant restaurant where you will enjoy some of the best Mexican food you will ever have north of the Mexican border. Our menu showcases some of the classic Mexican dishes including Carne Guisada, Pork Carnitas and Chile Relleno but it also incorporates Texas Wild Game in the form of Axis Barbacoa and Nilgai Tamales.     The bartender was wonderful. Attentive to our needs. The guacamole was the best I have ever eaten. Food was amazing!!!

    Nice restaurant with good service and food. The only thing was the loud music - I felt like I was in a disco. Hard to have a conversation and just didn’t fit the otherwise classy atmosphere. Probably won’t be back

    My 1st time there, my experience would have been So much better if I was not greeted with a manager telling us they was closed after I had a reservation it Rained that night so we were 10 minutes late and repeatly asking if I had a reservation after I answer 3 Times he went to check first impression is everything.

    Wanted to love Irma’s but left underwhelmed. Highlight is definitely the bar. It’s well appointed, the staff is awesome, and they make good drinks. The dining room however has zero ambiance and the food—though tasty enough—was way overpriced for small portions of simple food.

    Year after year, Irma’s continues to serve up great food. The Irma’s team of servers are very efficient, attentive, and friendly. This is our go-to restaurant, especially on Astros game days.

    The food is way overpriced, the menu limited and the ambience nil. The service was decent, but didn't make up for the rest. Go to the original Irma's.

    Thé margaritas are delicious and the wild boar sausages are amazing. My wife loves the wild boar tacos and I can’t get enough of the wild game combo. The guacamole is always fresh and perfectly seasoned. You can’t go wrong at Irma’s Southwest.

    Food is decent but a tad overpriced. BUT if you’re looking for a meal before a ballgame or something to talk shop with a nice ambiance, it’s great. Service is phenomenal too.

    The meal was very tasty. We had nilgai (antelope) for our appetizer and a sliced meat entree for two with chicken, sausage, wild boar, and shrimp. The drinks were ok, and our waiter was very attentive. I would go back.

    The food and service were both beyond expectations. When we arrived for our Saturday night, 7:00 reservation we were surprised at how few tables were occupied. After the best margarita in town and wild boar combo dinner, it didn’t matter any more. We would return, happily.

    Irma’s was Fantastic as always. We are long time patrons of Irma’s. The food is fantastic and the staff are so welcoming and accommodating. You should honored having such remarkable people under your wing. This also has to reflect management and ownership.     Irma's is a Houston Jewel and worth a visit either location. Nice place for a business meeting, a date, or even a family. One location slightly uppity the other quaint, regardless both location are exceptional!

    Juan was amazing! The drinks were stellar and most of the food was beyond reproach. I’m fact, all of it was amazing with the exception of the fajita beef, which had great flavor but was tough and had a fair amount of connective tissue.
