Iris is named for the celebrated Mediterranean flower, and as a gentle nod to the “Evil Eye”, a regional legend known to ward off evil and bring great luck. Located in an iconic building of Midtown Manhattan, Iris is a restaurant that aims to showcase the best preparations of the Eastern Mediterranean region. The ambition behind this culinary initiative is to focus on the style of eating rather than the provenance of each dish. Approachable, wholesome and minimally manipulated, the cuisine will show another facet of the ingredient-forward cuisine that has built John Fraser’s reputation.

Lovely dinner at Iris, as usual. Always love their tzadiki and fresh bread, lamb chops which were great, as is the orzo.

Do not miss the opportunity to experience one of the best meals you will ever eat. Food is off the hook, service is superior and location is perfect. Mediterranean cuisine at its best! Fresh, light, full of flavor and immensely satisfying, this place is a must! THE place to have a meal before a broadway show.

Iris is one of our favorite neighborhood places. Last night was a great example of why we go there so often. There were three of us. We started with the selection of mezze which comes with incredibly delicious pita and fantastic whipped feta, hummus, tzatziki, stuffed grape leaves, eggplant and more. Then the three of us shared a lamb flatbread [a bit too spicy for one of us -- but the other two loved it] and the 1/2 chicken, which is always superbly moist and delicious, garnished with pistachio and other delights. After dinner drinks were lovely as well and a delicious bottle of Greek white wine was savored by all of us. At $60 it was one of the cheaper wines on the menu. We love the fact that there is adequate room between tables and the warm welcome we always receive when we arrive. Sergei the bartender is also warm and friendly too. There's an elegance about the place but also warm and attentive service.

It’s so wonderful to find a quality venue NEAR Times Square but not IN Times Square. Flavorful food, top service, beautiful decor, and a thoughtful ambiance. Highly recommend.

Iris, has been one of the best restaurants I have tried. This was my second time eating there and this time I brought my family to enjoy the food and ambience for Easter Sunday. The drinks are also great.

Delightful, as always, in one of the most attractive dining rooms in midtown Manhattan, Iris buzzes with an infectious energy. So many happy people conversing and eating such delicious food, and what a beverage list, and all of it served by such a polished and convivial staff of professionals. Brava and bravo to everyone involved with the ongoing blossoming of Iris.
