Great food, amazing service, fast, clean. Can’t ask for more.
I thought the service was great and the food, though a little different than I’m used to, was delicious. The only thing I didn’t like was the ambience. It was a warm day for December and it was so hot in the restaurant. The lights are really bright on your face too and since the downstairs is small it got a bit noisy. Also, maybe put some good jazzy Brazilian music in the background? But overall I really liked it and would come back again to sit at the bar or in the upstairs section if open
Excellent service and attention. Best quality. Food was savory and just delicious. I will recommend to my friends and will be back
Decided to try after some nice reviews online and was impressed with the overall experience. The food and service was quite good even though they were extremely busy. We were in rush to watch the radio city Xmas show and chose this place since it was close by. Would recommend and try again another time.
I had dinner with friends to celebrated the holidays. We had drinks and the Robalo Grelhado, vatapa, picanha, and Camarao no Coco. In other words, sea bass, monkfish w/ shrimp stew, 3 small sirloin steaks, and shrimp cooked in coconut. Family style rice and beans were also served. Everyone loved their dishes. Everything perfectly cooked and not overly salted. I made reservation and I would suggest you do the same. Thursday night and it was busy but not full. Our waiter Sam was very helpful in suggesting drinks. We can’t remember what they were but we liked them. He didn’t keep us waiting for anything. He made it a very enjoyable night. The busboy was attentive in filling our water glasses and clearing dishes. We had a great time here. I will definitely return.
Had the sea bass two nights in a row. Consistency was spot on. Delicious.
I enjoyed the sea bass so much that I went back the next night and ordered it again. Perfectly prepared and delicious.
Very good food. Very cramped restaurant. Very forgetful servers. Long wait between server's visits.
whenever we are in NYC we have to have dinner at Ipanema Restaurant it is the best in the city if you are looking for a good steak waiters are great and the restaurant itself is very clean and inviting
Food was excellent. Service great.
shell fish in paella were a bit dry, otherwise the other dishes wee good.
I’ve been to Brazilian steakhouses, but this food was unlike anything I’ve ever had. Absolutely amazing. Service was stellar; our waiter was so nice and efficient and had excellent recommendations. He even told us how to make the life-changing sauce they serve with the bitoque. I would go back a thousand times over.
We had a really nice family ( 8 people) dinner. Appetizers were good size and tasty, all entries were delicious and Portuguese vine was really good. Friendly service and pleasant vibe. This place is a good find.
First visit to this restaurant, called the best Brazilian in Little Brazil (46 between 5th and 6th.) Great food, delicious, interesting, tasty! Big portions, low prices. Really recommend it. Will definitely eat there again!
The food was simple but tasty. I enjoyed the sea bass and the veggies, potatoes, black beans and rice that were served with it. I would definitely go back to the casual and easily accessible spot near Times Square.
Nice and quiet place, the food was really tasty.
The food was excellent. I'd recommend the meat grilled platter.
Amazing food. Oh my the food was great!!!
I was very disappointed in Ipanema. We ordered bottled still water. The first bottle was fine but the second bottle was actual just a refilled bottle with tap water.. gross. I felt like this is typical of the quality of this establishment. I will not return.
Just an all around wonderful experience.
The food and service was awesome.
Can’t wait to go back.
Excellent delicious food but service was very slow. Food took a long time to arrive, and we had to walk up to the bar a couple times to get drinks because our server was nowhere in sight.
Very cool vibe, service was gfo
We went to Impanema after seeing a show. Food was excellent and great portion size.
Too noisy. Too much fried food. Not worth the price. Excellent service snd very friendly though
We chose Ipanema as our pre-theater dining spot. It was very good, not wildly creative or delicious but satisfactory. The waiter was helpful and understanding about our need to make a curtain at the show we were attending.
This place is a gem. We went be
Had the steak while my wife had the salmon. Both looked very nice, but tasted very......bland! My wife asked for a Sangria.....which never arrived.
It was the first time I and my friends were at Ipanema and we're already planning on returning next month. Nothing to complain about. Food was surprisingly good and the portions were manageable vs. entirely too much or (worse) too little. Thank you for a wonderful evening.
Food was excellent, service was helpful and continuously mindful of our experience. Thank you for a wonderful and authentic Brazilian meal, we will definitely be telling friends to try this place out! Yum!
These people are extremely rude. I been there twice and they literally had 4 different people, including a really rude manager, approach me about my request for avocado. The manager was so stink about it, that he actually came over and told me that even though i am a customer i can't expect to be given food for free.
I absolutely was willing to pay for the vegetable side - it wasn't a question of not paying. I was just stunned by the fact that they wanted to charge 8 dollars for a slice of avocado which equates half of the price of my entire meal. They lose, because i am part of a huge corporate community and i would have loved to recommend them because the food is good. However, i would never let anyone in my circle go there at my recommendation. Ever.
Top notch authentic Brazilian food plus absolutely terrific service from Evaldo and the entire crew... and the best caipirinhas in town! What's not to love??
Very good atmosphere, all of the staff were attentive to my party all night!
👍🏾 all good
Came here for lunch once and back again today for dinner. Tried a variety of four appetizers. All things octopus were the fav of the bunch.
We were celebrating a friend's birthday after seeing a Broadway show. Ipanema was the perfect find! The restaurant has a simple elegance, the food was delicious, and the staff is friendly and professional. Our waiter was exceptional. We were a fairly large group and we were given such careful attention. The drinks were creative and the food was authentic. We will definitely be back with more of our friends and family. Thank you, Ipanema, for making a special occasion even more special.
This restaurant is completely amazing. The staff are remarkably kind, polite and helpful. The food absolutely is to die for. Everything on the menu is delicious. I loved that they had vegetarian options and had pitchers of caipirinhas as well. I will definitely return. My friend that came to visit from California absolutely loved it as well.
A good find not far from Times Square. Nice to try good Brazilian food. Reasonably priced for New York.
Always a phenomenal experience. Our waiter Gustavo made the experience as much as the food; and the food was phenomenal. Gustavo was personable, attentive, and helped us make the perfect wine selection for the evening. The other servers and bus help were also top notch. The food, the food.... the Portuguese sausage with Yucca had an excellent flavor and was complemented by a red pepper sauce that Gustavo said was “ a house secret.” The Feijoada was a meal by itself. Loaded with pork loin, bacon, sausage, every bite is delicious, Definitely ask for the manioc and peppers on the side. Together the combination is one that we will return for. We also had the Marisca. This Portuguese seafood stew of mussels, shrimp, scallops, and clams was hearty and had a sauce worthy of using every piece of bread in the generous basket provided table side. The dessert of white chocolate and black chocolate truffles with a hint of coconut was a great ending to the evening. This is a Little Brazil gem located in the heart of mid-town.
The hearts if palm salad and seafood paella were both very good!
The food and the service were excellent. Having to confirm the reservation via the Yelp App was inconvenient.
