Amazing food, can’t wait to return
Great experience overall. Great service and food was on point as well. The biscuits! Jesus! Dat buttah! Let’s goooo! Yeee for the bay puttin down some good food. Me and wifey had a blast! Shout out Chef Curry and Chef Mina y’all the goat.
Food was ‘good’. I expected ‘great’ from prices and name recognition.
Excellent bar. Great execution with server. Food was just okay. Highlight was the corn muffins. Downhill from there. Over rated and didn’t live up to the hype
The food was good but a little pricey for what it was. For example, the Korean rib sauce was really tasty - sweet and a little spicy like I’d hoped - but the ribs themselves were firm and not nearly as tender as I sort of expected for a “smoke” house. Also, we were seated in a big open space that has no sound baffling whatsoever. I love a restaurant with “buzz” but this room just created a ton of “noise” that was really distracting. I might go back again and try something else on the menu, but I’d insist on being seated at the bar or what looked like the smaller, less chaos-noisy lounge area.
Came for my birthday dinner and this was honestly the best dinner experience we’ve ever had! Everyone was very attentive and checked on us every couple of minutes. Signature food were out of this world. The combinations of flavors were delectable. Icing on the cake was birthday cake on the house! Will be back again next time we’re in SF!
Fun find on an early Saturday night in July on open table! Everything impeccable: staff food, every bite of food. If there were less diners I would have licked the plates. Drinks were perfect, do not not get the corn muffins , they were the best ever and I am old school. All the way to the perfect cheesecake with strawberries.
We live in Sonoma County and will be back for this gem. Yea!
We had reservations at 930. Service was horrible. I understand we are some of the last parties being booked but we should be treated like someone who came in at 5:30. I felt we were being rushed out. We had a large party who were all excited to eat here but the service just ruined it for all.
Impossible to find the restaurant.
Other than that 5 stars
The food was the same level as an Outback or a Texas Roadhouse.
Ribs were dry, meatless and overcooked.
We were seated in the Atrium which was extremely loud because of the high ceilings and glass. We ordered and appetizer and entrees. The appetizer came out fairly quickly, but we had to wait over an hour for our entree. It wasn’t our servers fault, they are just short-handed.
I would have preferred to sit inside the restaurant rather then the atrium. Also, the restaurant should only seat as many tables as they can reasonably serve given the limited staff.
Long story short: Tony Roma’s ribs are less bad and at least they are cheaper…
I should have figured out by the name of the place that it was purely commercial.
This is what happens when a good chef (Michael Mina) opens way too many restaurants around the globe.
Wrong market positioning (BTW, as a joint venture with Ayesha Curry, it’s no wonder their Houston location was short-lived; did they really think before opening it?)); hyper salty and sugary food; and the worst was the set up of the atrium, with a deafening noise level.
All wrong from A to Z unfortunately…
Had a lovely birthday night out. We shared the rib trio, whipped potatoes and Brussels sprouts. All were great.
So I have been hearing mixture of years about this place so I thought I would check it out. We arrived at 6:50 and was told that our table will not be ready until seven which is perfectly fine. When we sat down we looked at the menu and we placed our order but were told to order everything as the kitchen was backed up so we did. We ordered two drinks two appetizers two entrées and that’s it. When we ordered some appetizers we were told that there was no shellfish or fish on the menu for tonight. That’s fine we ordered some thing else so we ordered the cornbread which was delicious! Since we ordered the Clocktower buns they also didn’t have those so we ordered the Thai coconut soup which was really really good. The trees we ordered was the filet mignon and the brisket and they both came out extremely salty and very cold. It almost seems like they made me earlier in the day and just added smoky flavor when it was time to serve. For the value of the meets at $52 each entrée I am very disappointed. For the value of the food and us not having enough service at the time and how much we paid is this place is really overrated.
Went for a date with a special someone. Service was outstanding. Food was amazing, not my ideal bbq but im from Texas so im bias. Overall outstanding!
The service was nice and food was amazing, try the Brisket it’s amazing.
Disappointed in the experience. The atrium where we were seated was loud and cold. Our cocktails came after we finished our appetizers (which were tasty and the best part of our meal.) The entrees were ok - nothing special. Burger was mediocre. Duck fat fries weren't crispy (isn't that the point of using duck fat?) Finished our dessert, then they brought a surprise birthday cake. Everything seemed off. Sorry, Ayesha. :(
Service was Horrible. Disappointing really. I waited 2 months to come to this restaurant. And travelled from Virginia. Soup came AFTER everyone’s entree. One drink order taken…Other five dining guests not asked if they wanted a drink.
Milk Allergy reported. Waiter indicated he would substitute bread for lettuce wrap on burger. But dish still arrived on a bun.
Ayesha and Mina do better!! Not gonna tell my Virginian friends to come….just yet.
Very attentive, great food
We had a reservation set for a certain time. We still had to wait almost 45 minutes our table. Our server asked if we wanted drinks. We asked for water, Long Island and a margarita. Both tasted gross. They left us to bottles of water and was never filled again. We had a party of 9. We waited almost 2 hours for our food. When we got our food, it looked okay, but overall salty. The ribs did not fall off the bone. The duck fries tasted like regular garlic fries. The brisket, prime rib, Mac and cheese were ok. The crab fried rice had some some hard rice in there. The corn bread was was also hard. The reason why I am so vocal about this, is because I visited the San Diego location first. I was floored by their service and food. It was an amazing experience. The food was excellent. I give it an A+! This is why I wanted to bring my family to the San Francisco location to experience the same thing I did in San Diego.
This is real BBQ and not what Californians think BBQ is. Reminds me of a high class smokehouse in Texas with a Korean fusion.
I was very unhappy with the maitre’d who told us we needed to wait for the majority of our party to arrive before being seated at the table (we were a party of 6 and the 2 of us were first to arrive). This was just a too obvious a ploy to get us to go to the adjoining bar to spend $ on drinks, IMO. We did not feel like a drink, so stayed around the counter. We are an older couple so after waiting about 5 mins it was now 5:45 and our reservation was for 5:45. I went to the counter again to ask to be seated at the table and she said no, the policy is for the complete party or the majority of the party to arrive. I just glared at her and went back to standing near the counter. About 5 mins later another couple arrived and we were seated. I don’t know if this is a set in concrete policy, but I do suggest to the restaurant, if such is the policy that they reconsider this policy, especially if the people waiting are elderly. (Admittedly, we eventually received corn muffins from the waiter who delivered them to our table. Thinking this was a mistake (he never said why we received these muffins, so when we were able to flag him down, he said they were complimentary as we had to wait so long for our table. That was a nice gesture, but again I already was not entirely happy being at this restaurant.).
The food was good. I loved the pork belly bao, the truffle Caesar and the duck fries. The snap peas and mushrooms were good. We ordered the pork ribs (nothing spectacular, a little dry); the Chilean sea bass (very good), and the chicken (just ok).
Service was must ok. The waiter was nice, but he seemed overwhelmed with the number of tables he was servicing. Many times I had to flag him down to get things. However, given restaurants are having a hard time getting good, experienced help, I totally understand and can not fault him or the restaurant for this.
Amazing team dinner after 18 months virtual!
Excellent service. Good recommendations from Cecilia. Had a well paced out dinner with good food. Really enjoyed ourselves.
Food was delicious and service was great!!
Fantastic food and great service!
Fantastic updated menu. Amazing craft cocktails.
Great service, food & cocktails. Atrium seating is a bit loud & echos, which is no fun if one uses a hearing aid
Great dinner ! The Mac & cheese is excellent and the Brussels sprouts & ribs are very good !!! Large portions
Great people and food!
Great vibe. Great food and drinks. Really delivering an awesome experience.
Great service!! I will book again for Father’s Day
The food was truly fabulous! The Caesar Salad was the best ever, cornbread with delicious sauce on top always amazing, the ribs with the Asian sauce were so meaty and not fatty and super flavorful, the mac and cheese with truffles was over the top and the cheesecake (far from the usual) was really outstanding.
Our server was wonderful and very helpful in recommending dishes. Because of being short staffed because of not enough wait staff wanting to go back to work, made the usual outstanding dining experience frustrating at times. Not enough followup and bringing requested items when wanted.
I look forward to a more robust staff with more servers and bussers to be able to make the entire dining experience complete.
Rebecca was an awesome server! Great experience!
The waiter was friendly but came by every 2 minutes (literally) asking how was the drinks, and each dish…even before were able to taste them…very annoying. It was difficult to enjoy a relaxing meal out. It was a birthday dinner for my wife and the waiter said a chocolate cake was coming (complimentary)…waited 10 mins, no show, and left….waiter no where to be found, must be check on the other customers every 2 minutes.
Food was great!
Mediocre food, salty and bitter. Disappointed.
