Intentional Smoke SF needs to thank Alex for his professionalism and service. Food was alright. Duck wings and chicken Karage didn’t disappoint. The ribs however are overrated and over-smoked. Regardless this does not negate me from returning.
Hello, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review. I am so happy that Alex was able to provide you with such good service, prompting you to return to visit us. Now that we know the ribs are not your favorite, we can make sure to cater a menu that includes other options. Looking forward to your next visit! Best, Leilani Levig, General Manager.
The food was over the top!!!
My babe took me here and it was great we loved the Food.
Took the wife there for her birthday dinner. We ordered a “punch bowl” for $60. Drank the entire jug and didn’t get a buzz. For that amount of money, we should have been tipsy to say the least. All we were was full!! Will stick with beer next time. Other than that, the restaurant and food is ok.
The whole experience was mediocre and unfortunate. When we got there the servers were quick to take our drink orders and start with our apps. All this came very fast. The apps were very meh and were actually kind of pricy for what you get. We ordered 2 of every app on the menu except the soup. The Bacon Baos were so pricey for something that was not tasty at all (presentation was nice). The Wagyu lettuce cups were presented very nicely table side but lacked in flavor. The truffle caesar salad was a unique taste but a bit over dressed. The cauliflower was good. Our entire party agreed that the only thing worth returning for was the ribs. Very good and cooked just perfectly. We tried the American and the Korean. Both very tasty. The Salmon and both steaks (filet and Rib eye) were not good. No flavor at all and just over cooked. We ordered med/rare and got med/well. Overall disappointed as we are big Michael Mina and Curry fans. Love Michael Mina, love Bourbon Steak. This was no where near at that level for quality and taste. Wanted this to be a restaurant we would regularly go to but it just didn't hit the mark at all We had to flag down our server several times as we did not have serving spoons. wanted our table cleared, wanted dessert and wanted our check. He just disappeared after the apps. Also, the interesting about that layout too is that they have this section that is separated by planters for I guess a semi-private party. The tables were really spread far apart in the dining area as well so it really felt like they were trying to make the restaurant look like it was at capacity when it really felt like a big room with tables spread out and an empty section.
Delicious prefix menu...pretty pricey, but very filling.
Overall, it was through and through a wonderful dining experience. We would most certainly be back. The information that I was able to include via OpenTable really set up the wait staff to cater to our occasion perfectly. They took the information and hit it out of the park with their presentation. We will be back!
Great food, awesome style, amazing service - I’m a fan forever!
We ordered from the business meal menu. Everything was delicious!
Good for a date. A bit noisy.
Food was to expectation. Everything was amazing. They didn’t have brussel sprouts (out of season).
I would come back here definitely.
Really nice restaurant with a good vibe, great food and service. It was freezing in the dining area (and I’m from the UK). This made the experience not that great. We asked for the air con to be turned down but I don’t think it was. We pretty much ate as quick as we could to get out and warm up on the street.
The food and service exceeded our expectations! Thank you!
Sometimes, you can’t go back. This was our second visit for the Business Lunch Special which we were looking forward to since we really enjoyed our first visit. I ordered the soup again which was delicious and my wife ordered the Caesar Salad which she like a lot better than the Quinoa and kale salad she had last time. Since we really like the entrees we had last time, we ordered the same again. This time my wife’s hamburger came without the delicious cheese sauce, an with Thousand Island dressing that was not disclosed. She would not have ordered it had she know. But the worst part was the hamburger was so under cooked you thought you could here it mooo. She sent it back. And the same with my black cod, most of which was a thick piece that was substantially under cooked, and couldn’t be eaten except around the edges. The best part of the entrees were the French fries that came with the hamburger. They were good. As were the chocolate cookies for the to-go dessert.
Creative, locally sourced dishes and low-keyed but efficient service make for a flawless dining event.
My companion, chef at a well-known Oakland restaurant, loved it.
Dear Jim, Thank you so much for your review! It always makes me happy to hear we can impress other local chef's with what we do here -that is truly special. I'm so glad you both enjoyed your dining experience and am looking forward to your next visit with us. Feel free to ask for me directly --I would love to hear more about your friend's restaurant in Oakland! Best, Marina Bain, Restaurant Manager.
Great price fixe deal. Creative dishes, and fantastic ribs.
2nd time there, and food is really high quality. Ribs were cooked perfectly with right amount of sauce and spice. Service was good, but took a while for drinks and missed one of our sides which we didn't realize until end of meal.
Great food and spectacular service. Went to eat here 3 nights and was only in town for 5 nights. If you sit at the bar, ask for Mitchell. Best bartender / server ever. 5 star service and so friendly.
I have been wanting to check this place out since it opened up. I really like the variety on the menu, there are delicious appetizers and mains along with three sauces on the pork ribs. I started with the summer time heirloom tomato salad and stuck with a classic half rack of ribs. I was very happy with the service and the food.
It’s definitely worth a visit.
Everything was great, the food, atmosphere, and the service. The prices are high but worth it. We had the sampler menu. We enjoyed soup, fish, barbecue ribs, chicken, fried rice, broccolini, cream corn, corn bread, preach salad and key lime pie. We could not eat all of our food.
Dear Lavone, Thank you so much for your review! I know our tasting menu can be quite the endeavor, but I am so glad you enjoyed everything it had to offer. Come back next time to try the other rib flavors, entrees and sides! Our menu has a lot to offer a la carte as well. Looking forward to your next visit! Best, Leilani Levig, General Manager.
We went for lunch for our anniversary. The good was delicious. Our only disappointment was that the special bottle of wi e we brought in had a $35.00 corkage fee. Normally we pay $20.-$25. Corkage. Especially when it is a local wine. We paid the fee, but we were disappointed
at how high there fee was. Often , for a birthday or anniversary, restaurants give a free dessert.International Smoke does not. They did have a happy anniversary card on the table though. We had a nice lunch and our waiter was great
Great service. Delicious food and drink. I had the quinoa and kale salad and the ribs. A spectacular lunch!
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review! I am so happy to hear that you had a well-rounded experience, and that the service we provided matched the caliber of the food. Come back for dinner for a different but equally good experience! Best, Leilani Levig, General Manager.
Theme and aesthetics fit the name, but food was too sweet (almost everything was covered in the same BBQ sauce). The drink special we ordered came out with a special smoke flair which was appreciated!
Nice to try, but wouldn’t come again.
Best Mac and cheese ever! Also the ribs are everything!
Everything was great. I know we were in sf but the food was overpriced. Really good but overpriced.
It was just so so not worth the price. Drinks were just ok...
Great food and service, Will definitely return!
Celebrated my daughters birthday. Staff was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. The food was delicious and worth the price.
The atmosphere is great. My shrimp starter was over cooked but the cornbread is to die for! I did feel our bill was high and it seemed a bit pricey but would dine in again.
Great service, yummy food. Burrata app is a must
Great for casual special occasion. Seats are close so you will hear others conversations service was great. It was our anniversary so we were greeted with a card from the restaurant & two glasses of Prosecco. We had the avocado app ( good but not exceptional). The soup was quite tasty. Similar to a Thai soup cornbread is outstanding. We ordered the American Ribs. Quite good. Ordered the crab fried rice. Good as well. Dessert was quite good. We ordered the Molten chocolate Almond Joy. Ohhhhhh so good. We would return & order other items. Thanks for s wonderful dinner on our fourth wedding anniversary.
Dear Kathleen, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review! I am so glad we were able to make your anniversary special, and that you enjoyed the food you ordered. Looking forward to your next visit with us! Best, Leilani Levig General Manager, International Smoke SF.
For the price the food was average! Won’t be rushing back any time soon.
Tickets to Hamilton after dinner
Everyone was so nice. I give this restaurant a perfect 10 😃
Almond joy dessert best EVER. We shared some small bites and everything was delicious.
Dear Sara, Thank you for your review! I am so glad you enjoyed all the bites you ordered. We also have some wonderful options for a full size dinner the next time you are in! But if small bites is what you like, our happy hour offerings are perfect for that too: Monday through Friday, 4 to 6pm. See you there! Best, Leilani Levig, General Manager.
Great! Very good cocktails and all
Around good experience. Very pleased!
Very enjoyable experience. All the food, service, presentation, everything was wonderful. Thank you for an excellent evening!
My self proclaimed "foody family of four" was disappointed with the quality of the food. We were expecting to have our palates blown away, especially with all the hype from the collaboration with Ayesha Curry. We were excited to try the rib sample platter but the excessive bbq sauce overpowered the ribs which were overdone and dry. We couldn't even detect the lemongrass in the Vietnamese ribs. For sides, we ordered the mac and cheese, crunchy cauliflower, garlic fried rice (w/o the crab) and the cornbread. The only dish that stood out was the crunch cauliflower. Props to International Smoke for the presentation of the food and the staff for the excellent service. However, with the meh food and difficulty in finding street parking, I would not recommend this place.
This place was so tasty and the cool factor is very high!
Very tasty chicken with the right amount of heat.
