Staff was very hospitable. Great service. Henna was amazing.
Service a tad slow at first but food worth the wait. Corn bread to die for and crab fried rice more than just another side dish.
My wife and I dined here during our 15 year anniversary trip to San Francisco. When I made the reservation, I let them know that we were celebrating. We arrived and were immediately greeted with a happy anniversary by the hostess, the waiter, and the other staff that we encountered. They even gave us a hand written happy anniversary card, which was a very nice touch!
The food was sooooooo delicious! We ordered the cornbread to start, and it was absolutely yummy! We also had the bao starter, and the meat was so flavorful, tender, and delicious! My wife and I both ordered half slabs of ribs with 2 different sauce choices. Both were excellent, and the ribs were cooked to perfection. Very tender, juicy, and amazing. We will make it a point to return here whenever we’re in San Francisco.
Restaurant was very nice, quiet and fun. Food was fair. Ribs were good, but we've had better, especially for the price. Rib eye steak was dry and not very flavorable. Mashed potatoes was the best dish we had. Very expensive, $435 for 5 adults. Parking was horrible. It took us 30 minutes to find parking 3/4 of a mile away.
We tried a number of appetizers plus the rack sampler. Delicious! Bao buns were so good. Crab fried rice! Could have ordered that all night!
Cornbread quite yummy. Two in our party were lactose intolerant but we did fine. They gave us a few of the sauces on the side to accommodate. Dessert was just okay. Strawberry shortcake just didn’t hit the mark and the chocolate dessert also was just ok. We had a great time. The restaurant is definitely a destination and fun atmosphere. Will definitely return and again order foods to share. So fun!
The food and service were amazing! Definitely would recommend to everyone.
We celebrated our anniversary having dinner here. The lilikoi margarita to start was onolicious! And it came in. SPAM can.
We started with the chicken karaage and the kampachi sashimi ... delicious!!
My wife and I shared the Korean marinated shirt rib that was so delicious!
So full no room for dessert.
Great food and service.
Really great food. The ribs are excellent.
Attentive staff and amazing food.
It was amazing I loved the truffle cheese salad. I’m definitely going back
We started with Michaels Mom’s falafel and hummus for an ap, it was super creamy and the small falafel were the best, crisp on outside and tender on the inside, served with crudités.
We each had the business lunch, mine was the kale salad, interesting and deliciously dressed, and the achiote sauced vegetables. My companion had the Ka Tom soup, which she said was wonderful, and the achiote sauced chicken, which was perfectly cooked, moist and flavorful.
The sauce was a rich blend of flavors and nicely spicy. The cookies which came with lunch were soft, tender and divine.
Service was superb, attentive without being intrusive.
Excellent ribs, the lettuce in the lettuce cup app wasn’t big enough in proportion to the filling a little hard to eat , maybe butter lettuce would be better.
My party of 5 were I believe the last group to leave. We weren’t rushed at all, the staff was very lovely. After a day of hard work you’d assume they’d be tired but they were still very nice, social, and full of energy. The food was also very good, my steak was a little undercooked but the staff was on their feet when I mentioned it. They brought me back my steak and the night was pretty much perfect!
We were so disappointed. It felt, and tasted, like a fancified version of Sauced. Service was great. Salmon was great. Cornbread, meh. Steak, meh. Especially for the price. Birthday dessert was so cheesy for such an expensive place. We ordered "molten lava cake" that was just dry chocolate cake with literally no "lava" inside. A $325 dinner for 3 people at the quality we got, completely not worth it. We won't be back.
i Was apprehensive to go here after reading all the lower reviews, but I thought it was great!
Food presentation was attractive, but with a few exceptions the food did not have much flavor. The fixed price option allowed us to try a variety of dishes, but it is expensive ($65 ea.)
International Smoke was a nice evening experience. My group was about to enjoy a family style meal which allowed for sufficient sampling of multiple dishes. I’d definitely recommend the tender, smoked ribs and macaroni and cheese!!! Don’t leave without sampling the homestyle cornbread. Thank
Nice Restaurant! Food is great
All of the options at this divine restaurant are worth a try.
Absolutely amazing experience! Definitely coming back!
Wasn’t sure what to expect but everything was great - food was so tasty and original, loved the drinks and the clever use of different cups for presentation. That was probably one of the best cornbreads and Caesar salads I’ve ever had, Korean ribs were tasty, moist and flavorful. Crab fried rice was very flavorful, loved the key lime pie for dessert. Honestly, really enjoyed everything about this experience and service was friendly and attentive. It was a tad loud, but not unreasonably so. Definitely worth a repeat visit!
This was our first time at International Smoke. We will go back and try other dishes and I’m sure we will find some favorites but we are probably not going to be regulars mostly because the fare is not what we prefer. If you like sauces and complex dishes you should definitely give it a try. Everything we ordered was well prepared and presented. The service, when it came, was knowledgeable, friendly and professional but sometimes scarce. The stone fruit salad was especially good but the roasted cauliflower was drenched in a sauce that was too heavy for the dish. The cornbread was tasty but again, slathered in an aioli. Prices typical of popular SF restaurants.
Food was great and really good happy hour prices. The cornbread was amazing and the oysters were to die for! The punch bowl will keep the drinks flowing. You can tell when it’s happy hour, the atmosphere is very full of professionals looking for a good time.
My husband and I had the most memorable anniversary dinner at International Smoke. The food was delicious and the service was even better! 10 stars if I could
Wonderful Ribs, the Key Lime Pie is amazing. Probably one of the best Key Lime Pies I have enjoyed!
2 parts of our order was wrong. When we were ready for the check it took a very long time
Overall I did not enjoy the food, it was too salty and the chicken was bloody in the center which would be indicative of under cooked food. I would not go here again.
We had an early dinner there and the food was delicious. Unfortunately, our waitress was not very friendly and rushed us through the dinner even though we had asked for the dishes to come out in stages. The ribs were outstanding!
Went in on a whim for a late lunch, and LOVED their BBQ sauce options for the ribs. The Korean sauce wasn't as spicy as I was hoping it would be, but very flavorful. Would definitely come back!
Yum. The food is crazy good. Great spot for a business lunch.
Their chef is outstanding - food is unbelievably tasty and presentation was very appealing. Service was fast and friendly. It is pricey though - we didn't order anything extravagant, no cocktails and it's still over $50/person, which is quite pricey for lunch.
Unique flavors, great server, delicious drinks
Every dish we got exceeded expectations, we left incredibly full and extremely happy!
If you wanted to expand to Sydney, Australia I’d be your biggest fan!
Dear Lucy, Thank you so much for your review! I am always so happy to hear when we are able to impress people who are visiting from out of the country. We are expanding fast, so you never know! Maybe we will see you abroad sometime in the future. In the meantime, next time you are in SF, come back to say hi! We would love to see you again. Best, Leilani Levig, General Manager.
I really like the restaurant, the only thing is that the place was really cold. I told the waiter about it but he did not respond back to me or gave me any option. My experience was a little ruined by this. But despite that, everything was good.
We had the tasting menu and loved every dish. It was my friend’s first time there and she will be going back.
Our server was fantastic and his recommendations were right on
Our first time at International Smoke. The restaurant is lively with music playing, and an exciting place to eat with friends and family. The service staff is very friendly, attentive and welcoming. Our server, Carlos, deserves a high five. He was always checking on us. Our meals, the smoked St. Louis pork ribs, literally fell off the bone; as well as the Angus rib eye, was medium rare (perfect). We also enjoyed the crab fried rice, as our side, which was a treat and very flavorful. Ayesha's corn bread was a special treat for us, it literally melted in your mouth. To drink, we had red wine with our dinner; and a night cap to top off our dinner. Can't wait to come again.
Employees were very nice and the food was spectacular
