I decided to take my husband there for his birthday and I’m so glad I did! We made reservations (always make reservations for here). We had to wait an extra 20 minutes, which wasn’t so bad. We sat and our waitress was nice. They ask if you have any allergies which is nice. The drinks were ok, I don’t think it’s worth it. I had the Gina Jamaica and they made my husband a mule. They weren’t nasty, just not worth the money to me. But the food! That’s worth every dollar. Everything had flavor and was seasoned well. We started with the cornbread (not your typical cornbread but still good and the bacon bao buns (delicious!). My husband had the fried chicken, I got the Korean short ribs and we got the lobster Mac and cheese. So goooooodddd! And we didn’t even finish half of it, we ended up asking for boxes, which they valet. Food valet! So cool and efficient. Our waitress figured out it was my husband’s birthday and did a special ice cream and candle for him. It was so sweet of her. Overall pricey but you plan for a special occasion. The ambiance and design looks amazing. Love it!
Great!!!!! It was raining so it was hard to get in but once we came in 👍🏾. My favorite dishes was the Mac and cheese and the cornbread.
Food was very good. Service a bit up and down.
The cold smoked old fashioned was great and we all enjoyed our meals. Thanks!
The food was good, but it was a bit pricey for lunch. It came to $100 for lunch for two people! A bit much for a lunch experience at the mall. Other than that it was nice—a good place to go if you have a special occasion.
Great food, inventive recipes, excellent service, pretty good wines, music selection and volume could be better
Will preface this review by saying have lived in Memphis, TN and visited Dallas, TX on multiple occasions. Both locations, especially Memphis are known as the capital of rib country. That said, International Smoke ribs were AOK. We tried their American Barbecue and Sesame-Gochujang(Korean BBQ) ribs and none of us were really 'wowed' by what they serve up. The sides, rib tip mac&cheese and garlic-rosemary fries were very good. The restaurant is cool and spacious with a minimalistic feel with very cool outside dining which we opted for. All staff were friendly and professional. Our waiter, Julietta I believe was super friendly and accommodating. We visited the night that heightened awareness for Hurricane Dorian was moving into high gear so wasn't that busy. Overall, though the ribs weren't a home run, we would give them a try again.
Consistently wonderful food, great service, top shelf management. This place is top-shelf dining
It was a first time visit and a birthday luncheon. We all were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and the kindness of the staff. We all ordered off the Miami Spice menu, so the value was great. However, looking at the regular menu the prices were still quite reasonable. Will definitely go back!
Food was amazing
Initially I found it to be disorganized, but once they assigned a wait staff to our table everything was good moving forward.
The grilled oysters and shrimp were delicious (see pic). Also tried the grilled fish sandwich - the bun was huge, the fish portion small, the tomato had that “I’ve been sitting in the refrigerator” look to it and although the menu said “avocado”, it contained an avocado paste that added to the overall wetness of the soggy sandwich. Also had the red snapper over garlic fried rice. The rice was too greasy to the point of being inedible. Overall, the meal started out promising but we were disappointed with our entrees. Too bad. Our server was lovely and the ambiance was nice. We wanted to like this place, especially since it’s in a very convenient mall location.
Food was okay. Service was great and ambiance was very nice!
We went for brunch, Ayesha has taken a spin on southern food a kind of fusion. The service was great.
Awesome experience! Great food, great wait staff! Ask for Damaris, she was incredibly personable. I ordered the salmon, and it was by far the best I have EVER had!
The food is spectacular and flavorful! The ribs are phenomenally tender, juicy and smoky. The branzino is also really delicious. Everything we tried was great, including the cocktails, one of which was served in a Spam can. The curry cornbread muffins are perfect comfort food. The service was also fabulous, especially by South Florida standards. I am looking forward to my next visit, which won't be far off if I have my way.
The food never came out hot, it was quite odd. Everything was lukewarm, not sure if this was on purpose or they just didn't bring the food to the table on time.
Returned for our second visit. We had eaten there right after it opened and it was good. This visit was excellent. The server was attentive and helpful without being intrusive. Corn bread was delicious and server brought butter on the side which was so considerate since it’s spicy. Tuna poppers were small and few for the price, but tasty. Our party had two types of ribs and snapper. Delicious! Highly recommend!
Excellent service, great food, cool fun ambiance
What a fiasco! We made a reservation for lunch on Saturday, even after we called and they told us we didn't need to. We arrived and they said we had to wait. Twenty minutes later I asked and they said the kitchen was backed up. One hour later, we are still at the bar ready to leave hungry and almost drunk. They never apologized, never talked to us... nothing. We were already disappointed with the place at arrival but kept our minds open. The bartender was kind and gave us a free drink. We saw a family with kids leaving after waiting at the table with water only. What a mess. Honestly, this place is a mix of Flannigan's and TGI Friday's. Shouldn’t be on OpenTable.
Very quiet, horrible service.
This was my second visit and again I was not disappointed. Celebrated my BFF 60th Birthday. The decor and ambiance is Awesome. The entire staff works as a team and they are all very professional. We chose the $55pp entree, which was Delicious. Its definitely worth the price. This entree allows you to enjoy various foods on the menu, and it includes desserts. You even have leftovers. Trust me you won't regret it. The Manager, Mr. Kim was Fabulous and very attentive in checking on how we was enjoying the food and service. You must try the Mai Tai drink served in an actual SPAM can. Yes, SPAM can..you will LOVE it. There is a large ourside seating area. It's perfect for large groups, either inside or outside.
Very noisy, waited long for food, atmosphere can use improvement.
My husband and I tried International Smoke four times before trying them for Miami Spice month, and we left with the same feeling each time - the food is not that great.
We had the "jerk" chicken and shaking beef appetizer, branzino entree and chocolate chip and walnut cookie for dessert. My husband is Jamaican and was offended by the "jerk" chicken appetizer. It was breaded chicken breast strips that were "seasoned" but they were not what you would expect from authentic jerk chicken. The branzino was a good portion, but it was salty and so was the shaking beef. The highlight of our meal was the chocolate chip cookie.
They lack consistency in their food; the same item tastes different each time you go there. We really wanted to like this place and gave it a fair try, but will not be back.
Delicious southern cuisine with international flavors - I couldn’t quite distinguish all of the spices, although I tried. It was amaaazing. We got the fuego which is listed for two people but could easily feed four!
Great place, delicious food! A little pricey for what it is, but will definitely go back. Nice addition to Aventura dining options.
Love love love the food. It’s tastes like a fusion with all of the flavors. I really can’t compare it to any other restaurant because it’s so unique. Service was a little slow and there was no connection made between staff and customers. However, the food and ambiance made up for it.
We thoroughly enjoyed the Miami Spice lunch menu!! The food was exquisitely prepared and brought out in a timely, unrushed, manner. The only drawback was the noise level. It was loud, but passable. We will come back again, even after Miami Spice!
Food was jus
Great American southern style food
Great server. Music too loud. Very good food. A lot of food. Nice experience.
So we went to International Smoke for Miami Spice Lunch, absolutely worth the cost of the lunch menu. Great Service from Su, but the kitchen takes long and when I say long I do mean Looong! So if you're in a hurry, please understand you will be here for a bit. The food was good, Cornbread great a not grainy soft, fluffy, sort of cake-like, I enjoyed the signature spicy sauce they put on it but I asked for some honey for my chicken and hubby ended up putting it on the cornbread and it was AMAZING!!!
Here is a quick run through: Appetizer: definitely order the Wedge, the truffle Caesar was good but the Wedge my hubby had was far better.
Main: I had the fried chciken hubs had the skirt steak, the chicken portion was amazing, the breading on it was ridiculously good thick, crispy, crunchy not soggy but the chicken itself was moist but just tasted WET, no flavor or seasoning...it was odd - I asked for Honey and hot sauce to help w flavor and that did it some justice but you shouldn't need it. Hubby loved his skirt steak but wasn't a fan of the potatoes it came with so it was a good thing that we ordered an off the Miami Spice Menu side of the rib tip mac and cheese.
The actual Mac & Cheese pasta and cheese sauce was amazing the sauce from the rib tips took the mac and cheese to a whole other level but the rib tips themselves were hard, overcooked and not a pleasant addition to the mac and cheese. They were hard, difficult to chew and not enjoyable.
Dessert: They bring you two cookies and one cup of milk to share...the cookies are amazing, soft, chewy chocolate chip cookies w Almonds in them.
Overall the place is nice and the food is good. Like I said the portion sizes are great for lunch! Just wish we would've had a better batch of rib tips on our mac.
Also beware they do not give you the Miami Spice Menu, you have to ask for it and don't let any of the managers tell you they don't do it on the weekend. The lady next to us had that experience.
It was a great experience, our server was excellent and food was very good . On the down side drinks were unimpressed, expensive, weak and icy . Stick with the wine . Ribs were the best , order the rib combo to share. I see myself coming back .
Max, who waited on us, was excellent. The food was delicious and very flavorful. The whole service team really were top-notch. Max (with his wife, Michelle) accommodated allergies, questions and personalities and smiled the whole way through. We will be back.
There was nothing good about the visit to this restaurant. Unprofessional waiters, management. Food is mediocre. Not for the price they are charging. Maybe it was a bad day for a restaurant, but it was definitely the first and last time for us. Too many other good places around.
Food was amazing but service left MUCH to be desired
Took 20 minutes to get cocktails after we placed order Only to find out the smoking mechanism was broken so one of the drinks we ordered could not be made—but we weee still charged
And then after we asked for bill it took another 15 minutes for someone to come get my credit card to process
Only happened cause I pushed the billfold into manager face as he walked by and said I am ready to pay
It was not crowded at all but I guess the $120 we spent was worth better service
Very clean place, nice atmosphere ,great waiters. The ribs were very tasty, corn bread was good, the French fries were salty.
The food and service in the resturant was GREAT but the valet out front was EXTREMELY rude. I do not know if the valet service is directly associated with the restaurant but the valet is the one deterrent for me. No one wants to go to brunch to get yelled at by a valet.
Food came out all at once even though we asked for it not to. Food was so so
