We love this restaurant—our favorite in Marin
Great food and service.
Expensive but worth it for our special occasion.
Great ambiance, service, food and wine choices at reasonable prices, set in a wonderful place. Airy, open, bright, warm. I recommend it to everyone!
This has been a great restaurant in past, a go to place for a special occasion. This time, the waiter was seldom to be found, the food preparation was poor (overly charred meats so that cuts expected to be tender were actually tough to cut and chew) and the presentation of dishes was poor compared to past experience. An off night or a sign of staff deterioration?
This is our favorite restaurant in Marin but this time the service was subpar. The food and atmosphere are very good as usual. Service is important and hope this was just an off night.
Comradery among diners was wonderful. I was craving beef and the steak was spectacular, with mushrooms and smashed potatoes. Assorted small bites dessert was heavenly. I want to return to try other dishes
It was my sons birthday. We go every year for it and they always make it special.
The food is always superb with wonderful attention to detail and taste. There is great option for vegetarians and delicious fish options. Attentive service and great cocktails!
One of the best restaurants in Central Marin. Mussels and Mediterranean Platter were fantastic. The trout salad was overly dressed, Entrees are great.
Excellent meal, ambiance, service Highly recommend
The salmon with tarragon and sugar snap peas and basil was one of the tastiest dinners I have ever had. I hope this is something they will have on the menu always because I will come back once a week for that! Absolutely delicious!!
sharon our server went above and beyond and provided spectacular service. the food was good but was not extraordinary.
Food is always great and some recent changes to the menu were awesome.
Always love dining at Insalata’s. We had relatives visiting from the Midwest, and they really appreciated the Mediterranean dishes and flavors— it was fun introducing them to one of my favorite restaurants. However, the noise level made it really difficult to converse— even though we dined at an earlier hour to avoid that. Also, our server was a little frazzled and, I think, wrote down our table positions/orders incorrectly because almost no one received their own order over multiple courses. I would rethink dining on a Friday or Saturday evening there.
As always, Insalata's delivers, excellent flavors, great ambiance.
Mt soup and salad were quite good, though I was surprised by the $2 extra charge for chicken in my salad when the menu seemed to indicate that the chicken was included in this "soup and salad" combo. My wife ordered the burger and found it very hard to handle, with all the things that were stuffed into it. The dressing, in particular, dripped out on all sides and made it very hard to pick up. So we probably won't be going there again.
The buffet Easter Brunch was outstanding. Every dish was delicious and the variety was incredible. Some entree faves were the lamb, salmon, chicken, eggs Benedict. bacon, and truly amazing ham. Side dishes and desserts were fabulous. The crowd and waitstaff were all really nice and the large Spring flower arrangements made the restaurant ver festive. I think I want to make this an annual affair!
It was great! The food was outstanding as was the service. I would go back there for brunch. As it is the favorite place to be.
Always amazing. Great service and food. The best every time.
All was very good including the wine selection. This is the best restaurant in Marin that we have been to. We will be going back soon.
Love the steak and Sharon provides exceptional service!
Insalata really knows how to use spices to create incredibly flavorful dishes without overdoing either the heat or the spice. There is always something new to try and each dish is a winner.
Food was great. Sharon was lovely
Always top notch and great service. Good healthy options
Insalata continues to be the most consistent and best restaurant in marin.
The prices are reasonable, the quality excellent and the food always fresh and very well prepared.
In the past we had so qualms with the service, but on Saturday, our waitress was wonderful.
The Mediterranean flare is great.
I had the best potato pancake with smoked salmon I have ever tasted. The lamb was outstanding as is the chicken done Moroccan style.
Love it. No room for dessert, but we had some anyways -- and they were awesome.
Disappointing, expected more. Flavors and accompanied items with lamb and salmon were undercooked and over spiced.
Lunch menu okay...dinner menu too retricted. Used a gift card and they totally couldn't tell me what was the value or how much the meal was until we used it....weird system. Would go for linch but nevere dinner again.
Insalata's is one of my favorite Marin restaurants. The Mediterranean cuisine is creative, flavorful and seasonal. It's always been a good experience whether for lunch, brunch or dinner. My go-to dishes are fish, lamb and salmon salad. My friends enjoyed the food but were disappointed with the very limited selection of beer.
Love this place......................................
Food and professional, friendly service are consistently great. Only wish the wine list (especially Chardonnay) matched the otherwise wonderful experience of dining here.
My favorite restaurant in Marin - always delicious, with excellent service.
The food never disappoints. We always love the trio of dips, fattoush, and salmon. Out of this world.
I love their Fattoush salad for brunch, it's just so hard to slap down 17 bucks for a portion of a head of romaine lettuce, though the accompaniments are primo, such as olives and cherry tomatoes. The Eggs Benedict is a winner for brunch, as is the burger. Speciality sandwiches is where they fail, such as a Cod Burger which was all bun, with a bit of fish and a whisper of cole slaw. I want to love everything about this restaurant, but some things are just a bit ho hum.
Excellent food, service and ambiance!
Good food, but I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 because the crab pasta tasted good, but was too oily and not enough crab.
Food and people are amazing.
The layout is really bad: people jammed at door, breeze hits the bar every time.
Flow needs work if it is to have a better "buzz".
But the newish chef is great!
We had not been to Insalatas in a couple of years- which is a shame because we have never had anything other than a great meal.
We were there this time for a birthday dinner, but Insalatas is a lovely place with delicious food and attentive but not intrusive wait staff. We won’t let so much time pass before our next visit.
Friendly staff and very good food, but it seems just too expensive to go there very often. Too bad!
