It is his passion for excellence, beaming hospitality and tireless work that have been the hallmarks of John's 30+ years as one of the Capital Region’s most popular chefs. He is known for his outstanding food that he serves to "real" people in a fun and unassuming style. His simple philosophy has always been "put the love on plate." In doing this, people feel comfortable when reading his menus and do not feel as if they need to be a chef themselves to understand it. Inspired food and service in an unassuming manner with outstanding hospitality!

Food was spectacular and our host, Angela was attentive. There were a few fruit fly around. We killed two.
I have been in many times and had a great experience. We will be back!
This gathering was a last chance to redeem itself. You need a reservation or you won’t get seated. We tried on a random Monday evening at 6:00 in May and the guy at the door asked if we had a reservation. We did not and he was pretty rude/smug saying he couldn’t seat us until 9:30. Didn’t even offer up the option of sitting at the bar; which was open and there were others dining there. Aside from that jerk, we really like the food. Mel our server was excellent!
The food was amazing, no one had a bad meal.
Loved the food and cocktails! I would highly recommend
Food is great, service is excellent. I can’t wait to go back.
Excellent service! Our meals were delicious! Can't wait to eat here again.
Gave it a try based on the generally positive reviews of others. First off, most of the staff were not masked including our waitress! Second, all the mixed drinks are generally sweet. Third, bean and olive tapinade was mainly just beans with little olive or flavor. Fourth taco Tuesday? Figured we would try it. Well having grown up on Mexican food I can tell you bland was the name of the game. The fish tacos were cheap breaded fish sticks with more breading than fish! Not kidding! The shearded pork tacos were again bland and with little of the actual flavor other than the pickled onions and cabbage under the lot. The lime chicken was also unimpressive. All three needed some acid and hot sauce which required a request and a puzzled look from the server. Think it was Frank's or the like. Fifth, The place was noisy thanks to literally not a single thought being given to sound treatment. Considering the very high ceiling it would have been so little trouble!
There are far finer locations for food than this, save your money and go elsewhere.
Why did you expect masks ? We are vaccinated and there's no mandate! We have many cocktails that aren't sweet. The bean dip is supposed to be mostly white beans w/ a touch of olive and other ingredients. It's a free snack while looking over the menu, your the first complaint about this free snack. We aren't a Mexican Restaurant however our tacos have been enjoyed for years, sorry you didn't enjoy them. We are a energetic busy restaurant with a loud vibe, we designed it that way ! It works .
Flavorful food - love the pasta. Love the crackers n bean dip. Love the bread. All your wait staff is great, but have to say that Patrick was outstanding. Terrific personality, appropriate timing, we loved him!
Very nice. Not a quiet restaurant, but an overall great time and find. (We were from out of town.) I highly recommend them and will be back next time I am in Albany.
Good food and great atmosphere outside on the patio under the heaters!
George was great as our waiter. He made great suggestions and was kind to out children .
It was certainly too noisy, even sitting in the outside area. Food was great and service was personable.
Attentive service, interesting and inventive menu, casual dining
We had a wonderful meal at Innovo last night - warm foccacia- like bread, delicious caesar salad, shrimp carbonara and salmon with vegetables: red onion, artichokes, salt potatoes! Everything was absolutely delicious!
We had two concerns - ordered a glass of chardonnay and a class of cabernet - usually one would just get the house brand but we noticed on the bill each was $5 more than the house.
Second, the noise level was high - difficult for us older folks to enjoy conversation with the four of us - we women were sitting on the wall bench next to a half wall and did not have trouble but our guys were on chairs on the other side of the table and outside the half wall and had trouble hearing us over the room noise. Any way to have noise absorbers in the restaurant?
Overall, we loved the restaurant!
Everything I ate on the menu was amazing, drinks were stellar, the ambiance is top notch, staff were super friendly
Wonderful lunch with my sister.
Always good here. Appreciate the ability to guarantee an outdoor table. Food is delicious. Our “ go to” meeting spot!
Overall atmosphere was nice. The outdoor heating and fireplace added a nice touch to outdoor seating. Our waiter, Julie, was friendly and gave good recommendations. The food was done well and the wait time was not long.
We shared a few appetizers. All were delicious and filling. Can’t wait to do it again. Our server was very attentive and the manager is very friendly and always makes us feel welcome
What a lovely evening and excellent service we received at Innovo Kitchen - no surprise here! Sitting on the patio under their new heaters was a pleasure on a mildly cool fall evening. Our prompt, kind and efficient server, Keenan, did a great job getting our orders in right away and drinks to the table pronto. After having their salmon main many times, I thought I'd switch it up and try the salmon burger. I'm always afraid salmon burgers will be dry or mealy, and this was neither. Moist and full of discernible salmon, with arugula, a tasty sauce and a beautifully toasted brioche bun. Once again Innovo impresses. Can't wait to go back!
Consistently amazing food and service! Our favorite place to dine close to home!
Awesome time, the lemon and cheese cake is a must have!
Was a little noisy to have conversations . But the food was amazing
Food was delicious. Service was great.
First time out with friends since the pandemic started; felt very comfortable and safe eating here; service was excellent as well as the food. Thank you 😊
Dining outside was nice. Our server was very attentive. We enjoyed the rabe and sausage and the shrimp carbonara. The pork buns are a nice appetizer to share
The food was amazing. Will definitely be back. Absolutely get the crispy confit chicken wings… they are a game changer!
Sat on the patio - it was a beautiful evening. My husband has celiac disease - the waitress was knowledgeable and attentive. Food was very good. Will definitely go back. Loved the nacho tator tots and the Paloma mule cocktail!
Think no more and just go. You will NOT be disappointed.
Great meal and service
Everything was great, food , service and especially the dark chocolate after dinner.
Great service and delicious food & drinks. Love the open air concept and dining on the patio was wonderful.
Great vibe, food and service. We’d go again
Great time celebrating my daughter’s birthday. Several small plates with eclectic options, and they were happy to split the entree three ways. The outdoor patio faces a parking lot, but pretty quiet in the evening
Service was very slow. Although the restaurant wasn’t overly busy, our server, Tricia, seemed overwhelmed. Didn’t check on us after we got entrees and didn’t ask if we wanted additional beverages after ours were gone. Not typical of this restaurant.
Great food and attentive service. We enjoyed our meal outdoors on the patio.
Great kid free night out to eat! Food was delicious and service was attentive.
Our server Trisha was very attentive. We enjoyed the pork buns as a shared appetizer and the beef and fish tacos
Nice to sit outside but near the outer porch edge birds gather there and fly in and out. I see this as a health hazard and something needs to be done to keep them off the rafters.
