Waited 30 minutes to just receive drinks then a further 1 hour for food since the order was taken. We ordered another round of drinks when the food finally arrived, but after 20 minutes of waiting, I had to get up to ask if there was an issue or mistake with the drinks order. The drinks then appeared in seconds, but had obviously been poured a while ago. Can’t believe the poor attitude of the restaurant staff when I checked on the food and drinks. We were also bought the wrong food that was ordered by another table. They had to call out to the waitress to let her know it was theirs, and they appeared frustrated with how long they had been waiting. If you going to sell food and drinks, you could at least try to provide reasonable service. If you don’t care, don’t bother. Also, don’t order the sole as you pay£22 for a load of bones and hardly any fish.

Great staff, laidback hobo vibe. Food great value for money and great quality. No hassle with us changing from indoor booking to outside. Breezy from the sea but nice. Worth the drive up the narrow road to the free car park.

Lovely meal, really nice food. Very quiet and service fairly slow. Had booked the Father’s Day special menu and was very disappointed to arrive and find that they were no longer offering it despite it still being all over the website. Felt a bit conned.

Excellent Roast Beef at an affordable price. I'd love it to have been a bit hotter but it was fine. Personable staff. Nothing was too much bother. Well done. We are local and will be back

Great place to go and have a drink in a lovely setting but food was disappointingly slow and of average quality. I don’t mind food taking time but would have appreciated an explanation from waiting staff or a free drink for a 90 minute wait.

Lovely, friendly atmosphere. The lunch menu with the drink is good value, good sized portions and nice. The staff are really friendly. Lovely views outside. Would definitely return.

My wife’s original choice was not available but took 15 minutes or so for the waitress to inform us. Her second choice, a steak and ale pie, the pastry was hard and the meat burned and overcooked. A 250ml glass of rose wine was over £17, nice enough but overpriced. Compensation offered, a free dessert, not good enough. The meal should have automatically been removed from the bill. We have had some good meals in the past but this visit was very disappointing so we will be in no hurry to return.

The team kindly booked our preferred table (we had our golden retriever with us and he has his favourite spot lol). The food as ever was delicious and Archie (the dog) appreciated the real meat gravy with my mushroom bourguignon pie…hopefully next visit the chicken & ham hock pie (my favourite) will be available. The team are awesome…always polite, friendly and helpful….we’re lucky to have this on our doorstep.
