Built in 1880, The Inn was at one time a brothel, until it was raided by federal officers. The Inn was a favorite site of cowboys and teamsters, who appreciated the fine foods and jovial atmosphere.
Over 100 years later, the Inn at Tres Pinos is now a San Benito County Historical Landmark, carefully restored by owner, Mike Howard. The ambiance is intimate, rustic, and elegant. It’s country with a touch of class, and decorated in a style that is a reflection of Mike’s personal interest. Mike's grandfather taught him the the art of fly-fishing, and every year the family still fishes together at the Big Wood River in Sun Valley, Idaho. Mike married Mary along the Big Wood River in 2010, and the Inn has become a true family affair. Mike’s philosophy is “Keep it fresh and keep it simple.” His staff is personally hand picked and will make every effort to meet your expectations. The Inn at Tres Pinos is the only four-star restaurant in San Benito Country.

Great drinks...need another bartender. Had to wait over 20 minutes for a signature cocktail that was on the menu. Food very good. Best calamari I have had. Dessert beautiful Server: She had no idea what sweetbreads were. They were the special appetizer of the day. Know your menu is #1 rule when serving. Ambience: Beautifully intimate inside. fun, casual outside with fire pits.

Server David was excellent, conversant, friendly, helpful. My meal of salmon was excellent, but veggies a bit too al-dente, could have been cooked 2-3 min longer. My wife's meal, calamari, was also excellent. We've enjoyed our experiences at your establishment and will continue to visit. We also give your gift cards from Costco to friends.

When I made my reservation I requested a meal that was not on the menu. Not only did the chef get the ingrediencies but he prepared the dish using two different recipes. The Inn went above and beyond to prepare the meal that I had requested. The food was absolutely cooked to perfection. It was a very enjoyable atmosphere and the server was very tentative to our needs. It is by far one of the best restaurants in the area.

What a delightful first time visit. My only suggestion is to replace the tables and chairs on the patio. Leg room was very limited, wire chair seat became rather uncomfortable. The food and service were wonderful!!

Food was absolutely delicious as always. We did have an unusual weight of it over 40 minutes before we got our main course. I waited 15 to 20 minutes to get my soup which I thought was unusual. The server could have come over and told us what was going on. Next time I will tell the server that we want the soup right away The lavender Margarita was my favorite.

Tres Pinos Inn serves typically very good food. They don’t serve bread anymore for some unknown reason (Covid). It seems like every time we go there we get seated in the add-on porch. Service was excellent with a $21 corkage fee. All steaks are listed at “market price“ and on our visit we’re in the $45-$50 range.

Our server made me feel so bad for asking him questions about the menu (which I'm pretty sure he gets paid for)..... he told me that my meat was meat and that it has tissues... obviously I know im eating meat!!!! I brought it up to the manager the fact that he ruined my dining experience.. she gave me a card and stated she would take care of something next time... I said I'm not from around here.... and she was like OH WELL, IF YOURE EVER BACK.. CONTACT ME.... hun, I told you I am not coming back... and even if I did, I wouldn't return to this hell hole...

This was our first time dining at the Inn at Tres Pinos. It did not disappoint! We were celebrating our Daughter and Son in Law’s wedding anniversary. We enjoyed a warm and friendly welcome. Our waiter was entertaining, made great recommendations, from the appetizers and wine to our main dishes, so good. The food was cooked and seasoned to perfection. To top off the special occasion they created a surprise anniversary dessert for the happy couple! Thank you for making our evening memorable. We highly recommend The Inn at Tres Pinos. We’ll be back!

Unfortunately for us(not for them), it was extremely busy. It took quite a bit of time for our food to be served… albeit our server checked in on us frequently and apologized, the order to serving time was quite lengthy. The environment was extremely dark. It was difficult to see the menu and and the food… Overall, the food was superb and the server was attentive.

Service was friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. Overall, the wait staff was excellent: a bit slow at times but not really an issue as we got to enjoy our conversation and drinks. We ordered wine and really appreciated our waitress, Emma, bringing the bottle and pouring the glasses at the table, allowing us to first taste and also authenticate the wine we had ordered. This is a nice touch that sadly, many other places no longer do. We were celebrating a couple of birthdays and appreciated the staff singing and lighting candles with dessert. Sauteed calamari was one of the best we've had anywhere. Caesar salad was generously portioned, nicely chilled and very crisp. Duck breast with orange was also superb, but would have preferred a slightly larger portion for the price. We will definitely return and highly recommend this establishment. Keep up the great work.

This was our first time eating at Tres Pinos. We had heard great things and we were very pleasantly surprised at how good everything was—food, service, unique and tasty offerings. It doesn’t look like much from the outside but is beautiful inside. I love the history page in the menu that explains its past.

This is our very favorite restaurant for all occasions. The staff is friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. The food has always been impeccable. As always, out appetizer and salads were beautiful and delicious. Unfortunately, on this night, the flank steak special was extremely tough, and my New York steak was difficult to cut. We will stick to pasta, poultry, and seafood dishes that are always fantastic.

Very delicious seafood farfalle and calamari dinners. The presentation was excellent. The wine and margarita were excellent also. The ambience was nice but there was a birthday group 8-10 that were very noisy in a small area. We have dined here about ten times and it is usually less than moderately noisy. All and all a wonderful experience. We will be returning.
