Booths are tight (and we're slender people) would have preferred a table elsewhere in the restaurant. Music was loud and hopped around a lot of genres of music, it felt like you were listening to a friends playlist (but not in a good way). Service was the worst I've ever had at a upper dining establishment. Waiters need to be trained. Food was good, I came as a long time fan of ink. Would recommend coming for the food and just sitting at the bar.

                                                                                                                                                                                  We've been big fans of Ink, the previous WeHo restaurant because of the outstanding creative food and atmosphere. Since the current restaurant opened, we've been several times and have had good experiences. The food never disappoints. The only negative about our experience was the fact that we were definitely being rushed to leave when it was clearly time for them to turn the table. Our reservation was at 6:45 and by 9:00 we were basically asked to leave in so many words. After every course (it's a small plate format mostly) before we were finished with the dish, the waiter tried to clear the plate. This happened several times to the point where it became annoying. When it was time for another cocktail or glass of wine, the waiter asked if we wanted another cocktail with the check in his hand. Being rushed to leave by the waitstaff has happened before to us before too which leaves a bad taste in one's mouth. I'd recommend a later reservation if you don't want to feel rushed.

I really didn’t expect a burger could have such complex and balanced flavors. Was visiting LA for work and was pumped to try Chef Michael Voltaggio’s food. I definitely wasn’t disappointed! Service was great, ambiance was great. Overall, a really cool experience and highly recommended.

They have fabulous food which I still think about days after the meal. Every bite is an explosion of flavor and such creative pairing, well executed and so tasty. This restaurant is for foodies and I am so glad I've rediscovered ink well because I will keep coming back!

What impressed me the most the first time was how each, individual dish was introduced and presented to the table, to be savored and enjoyed before the next one arrived. My second experience felt much more rushed and less special. Despite ordering an array of dishes, the waiter plunked virtually all of them down on our table at once, overwhelming us and diminishing our enjoyment of each dish. A few even got cold as we worked our way to get to them. I should have said something, but just a warning to any patrons looking to maximize their experience here. The food is wonderful and creative. It is meant to be savored. Don't let the restaurant rush you!

Some of the dishes were very good, some did not meet their creative aspirations. Some just failed. The place is sleek but without a personality the bartender made a wonderful Mezcal cocktail.

                                                                                                                                                                                  First time at Michael Voltagio's new restaurant on La Cienega -- very nice (actually beautiful) space, comfortable, great, friendly and knowledgeable service and the food -- excellent, and this was on a Monday night when we suspected Voltagio was probably not there. We had 6 dishes for the 2 of us, probably 1 or maybe 2 more than we needed but ate every morsel. We will be back.

                                                                                                                                                                                  While the food was outstanding (especially the dill pickles shrimp, the Baja sea bass, and the fries that came with the short rib), we came away unsatisfied due in large part to the pacing of the food. It felt as though the goal was to rush us out of the restaurant as fast as possible. The dishes came out of the kitchen at such a fast pace that we finished our meal in less than an hour. When we asked why, we were told that the restaurant never wants the diners to be without food. That is absurd. It is fine to have time to enjoy the ambiance in between dishes. And, we certainly were NEVER without more than one dish of food. We also were told the dishes at the top of the menu were only a few bites, which was not the case and led us to over-order. We so wish the total experience had matched the quality of the food.

I liked the Kurobuta Pork Shoulder, though my friends didn’t like it as much. We would never order the Cauliflower Shawarma again. It was cool to see Chef Voltaggio at the restaurant. Would definitely dine there again.

We were celebrating a master’s graduation and birthday. When I called to make a reservation, I requested something special for my guests. The staff went way beyond. They made us a menus with my guests name on it and the chef signed it. We got to view the kitchen and they comped several desserts. The food was excellent, unique and beautiful. It was a wonderful surprise and we were all intrigued with each course as they came. We are from San Diego. It was well worth the drive.

They do small plates so each person can order a couple different items. The food was delicious and very creative. We will definitely be back.

I've never had anything like it, but hope to again. But don't get the horseradish goat cheese beets unless you LOVE horseradish--the horseradish was incredibly strong. It ruined the dish for us.

Went because of reputation of chef and all that we have heard about ink and now inkwell. Not disappointed. We go out a lot, and the staff at inkwell is about the best we have ever shared a meal with, Engaged and engaging and not hovering. Knowledgeable, informative and ready with their own opinions about menu items. Three of the four items ordered were spectacular. The burger was one of the best three I have ever had. So rich and tasty that I could only eat half. Interesting sense of humor. Look at the bun to see what I think is very interesting. The charred potatoes, well, just order them. If you are disappointed in any way, call us and we will come finish them for you. The salmon was terrific as well. Some of the menu items are tongue-in-cheeked, for example a fermented cucumber is a pickle and an egg emulsion really is a mayonnaise. It's good to see that chef has a sense of naming humor. The frisee salad was interesting and not of our taste. Oh, the desert we had was other-worldly. Who knew that whopper crusts and fruit would be so good. And remember, the staff are all really nice people form the parking lot attendant, to reception to the server and wait staff. WE will go back again, and then again.

Though the food was good it wasn't outstanding. I thought they were trying a little too hard. They over used the frozen cheese, frosting? etc. which was interesting at first but got gimmicky as the different plates came out.

The food was still amazing and i was glad to see my egg yolk gnocchi was still on the menu!! I really could order three bowls of that and lick the bowl its just that good!!! The service was outstanding like always and the attention to detail was on point. My orders came out in a timely manner and for the final course I ended with the Wagyu short rib which was cooked to perfection and accompanied by the mashed potatoes. I did have the Apple at the end which is deconstructed apple pie in which every bite harmoniously comes together for a taste you have to try. I have nothing bad to say this is one of my favorite restaurants period!

IT WAS Amazing. Our server was Vincent and he did a great job leading us through the tasting menu. We order 6 different food items and wash were spectacular. I’m still having wet dreams about “Beets by Michael.” Also, my SO and I aren’t not into sweet treats but we Loved the Mexican Chocolate. Perfect date night spot!

Food was good, not great, based on the pricing and reputation - it is a true test on those who just want a good meal and not pay $100 each. Incredible.

Everything about it from the interior space to the cocktails, wine and food. I'll go back again and again. Our server was extremely friendly and attentive and had great recommendations for which plates to order and how many. If you like meat, the pork shoulder and wagyu shortrib are not be missed.

We started with the crab which looks simple but has so much flavor. The hamachi crudo smells as good as it taste. The short ribs with sour kraut is the most strange and delicious combination. We loved every moment and bite!

Our server made the night fantastic. The food is a good value, but the quality and presentation are amazing. We had the potatoes, which you would think would be simple, but they were the best potatoes in the world! I actually ordered the apple dessert twice and ate both! Great cocktail list. Servers were knowledgeable and very friendly and down to earth. Chef Voltaggio wasn't there that night, but he is frequently there and the food totally lives up to the reputation. I can't wait to go back!
