Can't wait till the new location is open. One of the best meals I've had in a while. And the dessert was to die for.
Awesome, a must try before they close
The food was incredible. We had the smoked mozzarella, bucatini, short rib, and broccoli. I've never had anything like the smoked mozzarella before. Highly recommend. The service was very attentive and knowledgable of the menu.
The tables were too small for this kind of food sharing. I prefer to eat my food not to share with other people
Meal was excellent. The bar staff and wait staff were awesome. They serve the food family-style so for our party of three, our server recommended 3 apps, 2 entrees & 1 side. It was perfect - we left full & satisfied! Been a long time fan of Michael Voltaggio and ink. did not disappoint!
Amazing food! Very creative dishes, unique flavors and presentation, service was top notch! Definitely coming back!
Great place. Service is above and beyond. Food was fantastic.
We did the dine LA deal and we each enjoyed everything. I got a little freaked out on the gnocchi bc of the inner texture and being pregnant but the mozzarella and steak were both EXCEPTIONAL. Amazing food adventure with service that doesn't disappoint!
Very unique and creative food. Truly enjoyable and super exciting for your palate.
Service excellent. Knowledgeable staff. Friendly if not sincere. E.g. GM never stopped by the table to ask how we were, we were served the wrong wine - but really overall, a nice night out with superb, amazing food with a front of house that has the impossible job of matching it.
I had been recommended this restaurant by friends as the best in La but it was not to my taste the drinks and staff were great, but food did not blow me away
Amazing as always!
INK never disappoints, and their special "Caviar Inspired" presentation for DineLA was nothing short of fantastic. THANK YOU AGAIN.
Music too loud. Service great maybe even a bit too attentive if that's possible.
The piace is a little bit noisey. The food is good but too expensive, we ate 2 entrees, 2 steak and One side and se spent more tran 200$.
Very attentive service - food was brought to our table quickly. They had dedicated runners helping the wait staff.
All plates were described as they were served; great for foodies!
The food was super good and the service was amazing. We loved our drinks and they treated us somewhat like royalty. Highly recommend!
Food was delicious and service was impeccable.
As always, dining at Ink was fantastic. The menu had excellent variety and we had a blast. Thanks!
Each dish out umami(d) the preceding entry.
Totally blew out tastebuds away to Saturn and back to earth.
Staff totally cared for each guest like favorite family members anticipating each desire before we even thought up.
Worth the drive from our part of the universe to the West side.
Chef Michael Volthggios in the open air kitchen really rock down the house. Finding excuses to return to his orbit as soon as we can.
Thank you INK for a monumental culinary experience.
The food was subpar and disappointing. The service was great, but the food was either bland or unappetizing.
Food very salty. Came very quickly. Felt rushed.
Eating at ink. was a very special experience. Of course the food was excellent, that was to be expected, but I was truly in awe of watching the entire staff absolutely work their tails off. Every single person who was working at the restaurant were attentive and focused. Their attention to detail was noticed and truly appreciated.
Good food! good service! Only problem is to noisy!
Why did I wait so long to try this place!! My friend Giles mentioned that this was his favorite restaurant in LA so I decided to come here to check it out. I loved everything that was ordered, thought some items were a bit salty still delicious. Service was great, and was able to have made same day reservations. Definitely will be coming back.
Oysters- love the frozen sauce gave it a big kick
***Street Corn- amazing corn porridge goes well with the chip
Laughing bird Shrimp-can be a bit salty, has an interesting taste combination
***Egg Yolk gnocchi- pops in your mouth must get
Branzino-you have to crack the skin and get to the middle and texture with the sauce gave it a twist. Tucked it in the celeriac like a mini taco.
***Short Rib 8oz- super tender and juicy , how the hell did they make this!!
Beet bolognese- tasted like muffins
Brussels Sprouts- goes well with the sauce
***Apple caramel- super delicious, had fun cracking the frozen cream then working my way through.
The staff greet us before we even entered the restaurant. We had arrived early for our reservation (waiting for a friend) and we took a seat at the bar. We had a cocktail and after we were taken to our table as she arrived. Everyone was very polite, knowledgeable, and lively. I never needed to ask for a water refill, if I'd like another drink, for new silverware--anything. We ordered a bottle of wine, 3 starters, 3, mains, a side, and a dessert. Everything was beautifully presented, easy to eat, share, and tasted great. Nothing lacked salt or acid or fell short. When we arrived in LA we had a lot of mediocre meals at the start but thanks to ink. we ended on a very high note.
We dine at ink often and were disappointed by our most recent experience. The hostess and her male colleague, not sure his role, were rude and had an attitude for no particular reason right off the bat. We ordered a good amount of food and it all came out within 30-40 minutes completely overcrowding the table and our stomachs, which kind of spoiled the experience. We love the restaurant and will return to give it another chance. Hoping it was just an off night.
Well, the restaurant is well decorated and has a trendy modern feel. The service was great. Our waiter was outstanding, and our water glasses were always full. Wish I could say the same for the food. I had a filet mignon and is was nothing special. The sauces that came with it seemed odd! My wife has the baja sea bass, and it was rather bland. We split a big eye tuna for an appetizer, and something about it just didn't pop. We also shared the romanesco broccoli as a side with our entrees, and that didn't hit the mark either. We wanted to love it, but as I say the food was mediocre. I understand one item not hitting the mark; but two entrees, a side, and an appetizer all missed it. The place was packed, so obviously it's a popular place and was well rated on Yelp and Open Table. We walked away not sure why.
Was it an ink.redible experience? No.
The service was friendly and perhaps overly attentive. I don't need my waterglass filled after every sip. I think it's a bit wasteful to swap out silverware after nearly each dish.
Now to the food...
The calamari coating fell off. The black on black color scheme wasn't for me.
The gnocchi were delicious.
The sea bass was lovely. I would order it again.
The filet was not a good choice. The steak was tender and cooked to the proper temp. It felt underseasoned. The accompanying dipping sauces weren't special. The sea bean chimichurri added salt but not much else. The steaksauce was blah. I'm not a sauce on my steak kinda guy though. Just not a good value.
The romenscu broccoli was not too our liking. I felt there was too much black garlic purée. I preferred the shaved pieces.
The Brussels sprouts side
Dish was better. The aligot served with it tamed the bracing acidity from the vinegar. I would've liked more gruyere nuttiness to come through.
We skipped dessert and opted to walk a block to Sweet Lady Jane.
Minus a couple of points for the head chef and owner not being there. He only comes in twice a week apparently. For Top Chef fans, it's kinda like going to Disneyland but Mickey isn't there.
So glad we made it to one last dinner here before they closed. Will miss Ink.
Great food, the only unique meal we had on our travels in the US. Wonderful service, the waitress was very knowledgeable about the gluten free options.
The service was great, I took my boyfriend here to celebrate our anniversary. Our water glasses were never empty. The waitresses has us order everything all at once and they will course it out for you do you can really enjoy the meal. I like this type of style because it gives you a good pace of not getting full. After every course they also switch out the plates and silverware... That's when you know you're eating at an establishment that knows what they're doing,
Now onto the food,we had a lot of hits and one miss which was the froie gras. When we got the dish it looked nice but I felt that the peanut butter combination undermined the froie gras and it just didn't work for me.. taking a nice, savory ingredient and bringing it down.
Now the rest of our dishes were amazing! The egg gnobbici was a spoon full of deliciousness when it popped into your mouth, gravy was yum! Octopus , cooked to perfection with a bit of crispiness to the edges. Laughing bird was an interesting plate with the avocado shaving being cold, was a different element I wasn't used to.
For the meats we chose the 30 day aged rib eye with chimichurri and this brown sauce with tendon puff... All of it was great , the meat was buttery and perfect and the sauce complimented it very well. To balance the heavy meat I chose the side of beet balls with feta inside, nothing too amazing but I liked it nevertheless. Lastly, desert! I thought it was really cute they brought it out with a little candle wishing us a happy anniversary. We got the hazelnut dish with a chocolate dome and the waitress pours the peanut caramel sauce and then coconut ice cream at the base, let's just say there was nothing left and we were both super satisfied and amazed how light the desert was. Very great experience here and will definitely come back to explore the menu more.
Amazing food, and really amazing service. would highly recommend for a first date here.
Cocktails were excellent. Service was mixed. Very rushed and pushy.
Dining at INK was a first-time experience for the 4 of us, Seniors, using a gift card that I had received for my birthday. The attentive service occurred the minute the door was opened for us with pleasant greeters who showed us to our table. Our excellent, knowledgeable waitress knew about our food allergies as we had been contacted by restaurant staff 2 days prior to our arrival. She guided us to order 4 starters, 3 mains, and 2 sides - just the perfect amount . All the dishes were served to be shared - we tasted and marveled at the flavors and unique sauces, presentations, and colorful dishes. We questioned the waitress and servers regarding ingredients, the preparation of the unusual bites. Each staff member patiently educated us. Some of our favorites: salt & charcoal potatoes, smoked mozzarella, egg yolk gnocchi, the branzino and the filet mignon. We finished off our evening wit 2 dessert selections and were so pleased with the apple and the berry pavlova. Truly a feast and special dining experience that was unlike anything we had experienced before! Only one drawback to the environment: We are grateful that we had a 6:45 dining time because there were few diners and we could discourse comfortably. After 9 pm there was quite a din as the restaurant was Full!
A must visit for any foodie in LA. Already recommended to a friend.
Made a reservation online. Loved the follow up. Painless & easy. Service was spectacular. We didn't feel rushed. Our servers knew the menu well. We went with the salt & charcoal potatoes, calamari, street corn & egg yolk gnocchi. The potatoes were fabulous, calamari so great & tender & the street corn was like a dessert. Our least favorite was the popular gnocchi. The banzino was very mild & favorful, petite filet was well prepared & pork chops were tasty. We loved the deconstructed apple pie but didn't care much for the carmel gelatin which had a bitter aftertaste. The strawberry shaved ice was refreshing to the palette especially with the fresh fruit below.
Lovely food and attentive but not overbearing service.
Egg yolk gnocchi were great as well as ink octopus. We ordered their signature dessert "Apple" and it resulted a really good choice. Service was impeccable, waiter were kind and attentive. Only note, the ambience is a little bit noisy.
Delicious food, great service, dessert amazing, loved the cider.
