I really want to like this place. I really do -- been twice now; once when it recently opened and then last weekend.
To begin -- the service was top notch! Awesome experience!
Here's my criticism:
1. This place is loud. Ridiculously LOUD. Could barely hear the server talking to me and my date. By the end of the mean my date and I were so worn out from trying to have a simple conversation, and not being able to hear one another, that we just wanted to get the heck out of there.
2. The food suffers from a little brother syndrome -- it tries really hard but cannot get out of the shadow of the more mature and refined grown ups.
For example, it looked like a lot of the dishes coming out of the kitchen came with sides of rice and asparagus.
Meh.
Really? That's all you've got?!
Especially considering the kitchen staff didn't cut the ends off the asparagus that night... so the bitter, pithy, fibrous ends made it onto our plates... which completely undermines the otherwise tasty stars of the show.
3. Wine flights. Normally love 'em. Except here. Most of the flights contained the same varietals -- what's the point of getting three glasses of the same grape? People want flights so they can experience a little adventure. I also noted the pricing on the wine list and what appeared on my bill was different. Of course, the bill being a few bucks more.
4. Same with the deserts. Ho hum offerings of brulee or ice cream... the problem with that is it's similar ingredients and textures. Essentially one is cold cream and one is heated cream.
Sigh.
So much potential but really wasted on a garish (noise) atmosphere and missing a professional finishing touch on the menu and in the kitchen.
On a Thursday night, incredibly noisy. 20 minutes to get our first drink. Very nice wine list but extremely limited food choices. Nice, attentive waitress. Overall, you don't need to go there again.
For the price, this was underwhelming. We were seated on the sunny and crowded side of the restaurant instead of the rest of the restaurant, felt like we being put in the kids section. The food seemed microwaved, not seared. Menus could use reprinting, they’ve got a lot of miles on them. Again, I’m scaling for the price. If it were half the price we paid, a lot of these things would be overlooked.
The ambiance was wonderful. Our server Jeremy was fantastic. I would definitely go back next time I find myself in the Denver area.
We have been to Indulge many times . We have always had a wonderful experience. This is the first time we have been disappointed. The chicken gnocchi was awful! No flavor and rubbery! I only ate the chicken .
I really wanted this place to be good. The menu looked amazing, however the food was bland. Didn’t have flavor. We ordered the calamari, fig and arugula flatbread, and gnocchi and was disappointed. Even the drinks weren’t that great. The atmosphere was nice and our service was great. The food and drinks left little to be desired.
Wait staff and bartender were good. We've been here a few times and it is hit and miss. The kid that fills up water glasses and clears tables is rude, but everyone else is great. This night had some blow hard that walked in and made a scene yapping about betting on college basketball. The guy was a fat slob that bragged about his car. I felt bad for the bartender since he was trying to quite down Mr. Big. The food is very good and the wine recommendations are great. I guess I can't blame Indulge for what obnoxious patrons that they have to tolerate.
This restaurant was COMPLETELY unprepared for Valentine's Day. First, without prior notice --- neither from their website nor from the employee who cold-called the day before to make certain my reservation was still "on" --- they handed us an extremely overpriced, very underwhelming "Valentine's Day" menu. Second, they crammed about twelve tables for two in a small banquet room. Third, the $8 soup "bowls" (cups) were both luke-warm, and also served without bread. And last, the $24 cod entree was again luke-warm and also disgusting, and served with zero vegetables. To be fair, both the brushetta and margarta pizza were tasty. Our server was very good and friendly, but also very overworked -- we were unintentionally ignored most of the night. "Sham" is the word to describe our experience.
We had a great dinner for Valentine’s Day ! The fixed menu offered a nice variety. Service was a little slow but the place was packed for VD! We eat there often. Love it!
Out for Valentines dinner. Was sat in a small room with 6 tables and ours was the only one smack dab in the middle, not exactly romantic. Were served water only and waited for 15 minutes with no attention on a fixed menu night...Flagged down a manager who ended up our server for the night along with managing the restaurant. She offered a small discount and free desert, but we waited long times between ordering and all food and desert getting there. This restaurant was not prepared with enough staff for the occasion. Plus no explanation on what was missing, just empty apologies...Still bill came to $175 all in with tip. Should have been better service for the price and Expectations weee much higher than what was delivered!!!!Won't go back!!
we enjoy Indulge in both summer and winter. Summer for the patio and happy hour menu and wine, and winter for the wine and fair. Service has always been great.
The food was delicious and the service was very good. Kristie did a great job! We'll be back.
Yes, I just reviewed Indulge 3-weeks ago, but that was a busy Friday night and this was a slow Sunday night. I'll start with the seating. Everyone who came in was seated by the greeter in the corner to the right of the bar around the windows near the patio. Over half the place was empty and they crammed everyone into the same general place, filling nearly every seat in that area. It simply was not comfortable. Next, it took awhile before a waiter came by our table, and guess what? It was the bartender! In fact, the bartender was waiting on everyone who was there dining as well as those at the bar. So, the only staff they had in the dining area was the greeter and the bartender (and this was true for our entire visit). Needless to say, service was slow. Even with decent (though pricey) food, I am having more and more difficulty justifying choosing Indulge over the variety of other local restaurants, or even those farther away.
We came in for the 1st time, to celebrate our Anniversary. It won’t be our last time. There were plenty of items on the lunch & dinner menu to entice return trips. The deck looked so inviting, but considering darkness and snow, that will definitely be a return trip. The Waiter brought us a wonderful desert to share to celebrate our 34 years together. It was fantastic!
Terrible Service, could hear Colt 45 blasting from the kitchen. Food was good but wont be returning due to lack of service, especially since the restaurant was very empty
A fair happy hour, though they should really consider including their signature cocktails/martinis in the deal like many of the better restaurants do downtown. Food is good but a bit overpriced, again as compared to restaurants downtown. In short, if the driving distance is the same to Highlands Ranch or downtown Denver, go downtown.
Loved our date night at Indulge in Highlands Ranch. While on the noisy side, it wasn't too loud, even at the peak time we were there (6:30ish). It also cleared out by 8ish, and was very quiet then. We had the most awesome waiter - Jeremy - he was very convivial, had great recommendations and provided excellent service the whole time we were there. He knew when to chat with us, when to let us be, always checked to make sure the food and wine were enjoyable. It was clear how much he loved his job, and was quite knowledgeable about the wine and food selections. He definitely made the entire experience memorable and when we return, we will request to sit in his section.
Had a great time there sharing wine and flatbread with my date during happy hour.
Excellent food and service. Great happy hour too. Came here a few years ago and I feel its better than I remembered! Will come back again soon!
We enjoyed the tony soprano flat bread & fantastic crab cakes. Our server, Jeremy recommended excellent wines.
We have always have a wonderful time at Indulge. Great food, great service.
Wine was great. Food was good. Service was adequate.
Great! Party of 10 next to us was a bit too vibrant for us but staff quickly relocated us to the quiet corner. 3 new diners with us 2 regulars were quite impressed and vowed to return for the fig and arugula flatbread.
Perfect evening, service food and wine were great.
Great food. Great atmosphere. Convenient Highlands Ranch location. Service was slow. Wine prices are high.
Long time favorite of mine. Went back after a long break. Did not disappoint. I hope to return soon.
Had a Groupon for a bottle of house wine and either the Margarita or Tony Soprano flatbread. We got the house red which was quite nice and had the Margarita flatbread, followed by the fig and arugula flatbread; both flatbreads were delicious. Since we were still hungry, we ordered the crab cakes because we had heard they were good. They were satisfying, more crab than bread, and tasty . We'll definitely be back, Indulge is a great neighborhood restaurant.
A great place, cozy and fun. Great view. Food is good. Staff is always friendly, fast and attentive.
I️ would recommend it for drinks or dinner.
The only problem we encountered was due to the fact the restaurant was out of Proseco and Limoncello, both of which we wanted before and after our meals. The wine selection was fine and the food good. The hummus was especially tasty.
we have been her several times- usually very very satisfied... excellent food an wine lists- both appetizers and main courses varied and well prepared.. so it was a surprise to have indifferent service- slow and not very attentive.. and to have to send a main dish back because of hair in the food... a shocker... still, given that we have visited in the area of a half dozen times, and were never disappointed till this visit- are willing to chalk it up to an unusual off night and give it another chance over the holiday season
This was our first visit. We invited friends who live near Cherry Creek. We wanted them to know that Highlands Ranch has some unique gems, too. The atmosphere was nice and the food was wonderful. The service; however, was inattentive. Perhaps someone called in sick? We’ll try it again, but our first time fell short of expectations.
We had a reservation for 5:45PM on a Saturday night. It took a while for someone to take our drink order and once placed it was at least 15-20 minutes before the drinks arrived. The waiter said the bar was backed up and apologized a few times for the delay. The food was a bit faster but not much considering we just got appetizers. Everyone at our table was served, and my chicken wings eventually showed up later. It appeared they were delivered to the wrong table. We've had decent experiences in the past but this time was a complete turn-off, especially considering how expensive this place is. I walked out wishing we'd eaten next door at Noodles & Company and saved the money.....
Our server was great in spite of the fact that the place was very busy. The flatbread with fig (the fig seemed to be missing) was dry. The sliders were excellent. It was dark where we were sitting and hard to read a menu. This was our first time but would try again.
Great place. Would recommend to anyone who likes a modern and good food
Our cheese plate was more fruit than cheese and service was slow. A table next to us was seated and had their entire meal and left before our entrees were delivered.
Great flatbread and wine for date night.
My reservation was cancelled via phone call because they decided to close down the kitchen before we even arrived. They gave us a 40 minute heads up so we could make other plans, but when a restaurant advertises certain hours, it shouldn't be so hard to stick to them.
We didn’t make it in time for Happy Hour, but we will try it again! The outside fire pit was going, and it was cozy both inside and out. Wines by the glass are a little pricey, but good selection. Had the Ahi guacamole appetizer, and red pepper bisque. Both excellent! Jeremy was great at multitasking behind the bar, and managing some tables.
Ordered a Greek salad to go; and it wasn’t too exciting. Everything else was great. It seems as if there are “regulars” who dine and drink there.
The ambiance cannot be beat - nice lighting, great seating, just a fun place. The wine was great and reasonably priced however the food was just ok. We ordered two flatbreads and the crust was soggy on both - they tasted like they were frozen. We also got the ahi guac, which was very good. I would recommend this place, just get something other than the flatbreads.
We love this restaurant and go there at least once a week!
