Enjoy the atmosphere as usual, but it is very, very loud. Favorite cold apps continue to be the fluke carpaccio and eggplant. Love them.
Food was very blah
Friends from Amsterdam
The crab cakes were the best I've ever had -- fantastic! And the snapper was outstanding! Our server was attentive, the restaurant is beautiful, and we loved the entire experience.
Always adore Indochine! Excellent and consistent food with a great vibe! A New York City modern classic!
LOVE this place! Classically elegant, cool, sophisticated, yet everyone there is so friendly and surprisingly attitude-free. Service impeccable; food delicious and good-sized portions; really good (strong)cocktails.
A vestige from the old 80s still viable and even more perfect than ever. Once you have class, you never lose it - and this is one classy place. Can't wait to go back!
Our go to place whenever we go to the Public. The salmon dish is fabulous; crisp on the outside and rare inside.
Indochine is so convenient for public theatre performances it is hard to resist. The ambience is very nice but the menu has many spicy items so that if one cannot eat hot food it is a chore in selecting things without chilis.
Always a treat - the food is exotic and unusual - Northern Vietnamese - lots of wonderful combinations - the staff is outstanding and the atmosphere is lovely - and with all that, it's across the street from The Public Theatre
I can't say enough about this restaurant, I think I have been coming here for 25 years. I used to be a regular in the late 1980s and 1990s and then just began coming again about ten years ago and honestly it may be harder to get a reservation now than it was then! The food is always OUTSTANDING, no matter what you get! The spicy beef salad is the best that I have had anywhere hands down. My favorite dinner is the Chilean sea bass with sticky rice. This weekend we opted for sea bass, spicy shrimp, sticky rice and the grilled eggplant. Of course dinner was preceded by the cucumber and chili martini and my friend had red wine. The atmosphere is always lively and a great scene. I wound up coming back after my show at the theatre for dessert, coffee and more wine because we wanted more Indochine. I highly recommend and hope they stick around for another 25 years. The best!!!!!
We have eaten at Indochine many dozens of times over the last twenty years. We are happy to say that the food, service and ambiance remains superior. Keep up the great work...
One of my fav place in NY.
Beautiful place, nice people and amazing food.
Only challenge is the noise. Very loud.
But still, amazing experience!
We hadn't been to Indochine since the 80s and were pleasantly surprised to find it both the same and evolved. The Martinis were excellent, the food was very good, and the service was friendly, capable and not fussy. The seating was comfortable and even with people to the left and right of us, we didn't feel crowded though I was eyeing those round booths across from us.
The only thing we could have done without was the noise level steadily increasing as the evening progressed. We'll chalk that up to our age, but given that we can hardly be the only ones that are taking a trip down memory lane, maybe still something to keep in mind.
My favorite restaurant for decades.
Gale made our night perfect (as always).
Our the bussing staff was great. Our server was cold and inattentive. The restaurant was not crowded so there was no excuse for the poor service.
Eternally consistent !
Beautiful as always! It’s been over 30 years and it’s still swanky! Keep up the great work!
The atmosphere is fabulous. The staff is gorgeous and helpful. The food is very good. It’s a place to be. It’s a place to have fun at the place I have good martinis
Quiet when we arrived for pre-theater dinner, then became increasingly energetic! Food always outstanding.
After viewing the Warhol exhibit at Whitney, read a review that Indochine was a favorite of his. Got lucky with an early reservation. All these years and still fantastic. Excellent food and drinks. Will be back!!
A classic! Love the food and ambiance. One of my favorite places to go when I visit NYC.
Indochine remains one of the best restaurants in Mew York! Always great food and an electric vibe!
Finally I got around to visit this place which has been around forever! Recommended to us by our concierge at The Mercer, I was certain it would still be a place to go. And it was. The staff looks like supermodels, the place is buzzing and the food and drinks are really good! Just go.
The wait is always very long. Never go expecting to be seated at your reservation time
Great food and great crowd however this place is very busy and they rush you to eat and leave.
My daughter and I enjoyed pho, spicy shrimp, pea shoots, and spring rolls before Blue Man Group. Food was fresh and tasty! We loved it! The service was fabulous by the way!
40 mn to wait for our table to get ready.. at 10:30pm!
One step above your local Asian take out restaurant. Small portions, very noisy and spotty service. Worst of all, over charged the bill by 25% adding drinks and appetizers that were not ordered. Check your bill. Would not recommend or go back.
Delicious food , excellent service..but table of loud screeching people close to us made us feel as though we were in a bad movie.
Everyone was very friendly and professional. The place was dimly lit and the seating was relatively comfortable. The service was attentive. But it was very noisy. The appetizers were salty, especially the baby back ribs. The noodle salad was almost too spicy for my friend to eat. But my spicy shrimp we both agreed was delicious. We had a nice time but agreed that we wouldn't go back.
went for a friends birthday and they prepared a plate with cake and even wrote the birthday boys name
Indochine has sadly gone downhill. After thirty some years that's perhaps understandable, but a more likely explanation is what our server said: it's become a "high volume restaurant," not the in-crowd clubhouse it used to be. We'll go back and give it another try, and hope to see friends and eat better, but lowered expectations do not a favorite restaurant make.
Awesome food, service and ambiance. Just need to do something about the acoustics... Quite loud...
It's very good food and if it's the scene you are looking for than it's worth going. It is, however, very expensive and a bit too trendy for my taste.
Love Indochine but this last time was underwhelming. Arrived 6:00 for 8:00 show across the st. which we told them about. They were pretty busy, still, we didnt get our check until 7:55 and even then there was some confusion. They brought us 2 pots of tea that were tepid---not even warm really. So we ask to have them removed. A very tall and not nice red headed model/hostess came over to ask why we wanted tea removed. We told her it wasnt hot. She ratcheded up and said that was impossible--she boiled it herself. We basically laughed bc serioulsy, honey, you didnt boil anything yourself, but besides that, it was tepid! We're not trying to get free water from you. She was really bad at her job except the part where she looks really good. I had to run across the st. and get seats while they finished paying.
The food is truly delicious, so it's unfortunate that it's overshadowed by the early aughts attitude of the hosts and servers. It's not 2005, and they aren't extras in Sex and the City. Maybe it would be less of a scene early on a Monday, or if they serve lunch, perhaps. Also, a friend called to send over a bottle of wine as a gift, and they charged the friend but failed to deliver the wine to our table.
Been coming for 30 years. Always fab
Always good fun and fun ambiance. Indochine never disappoints!!!
The meals were just exquisite. I highly recommend it!!!!
Consistently excellent food and service, fairly priced for a spot with such history and elegance.
