A classic that still feels new. Outstanding food. Beautiful room. Very friendly staff.
Food is great: we enjoyed the fried chicken rolls and crispy stuffed shrimps for appetizers. A favorite was the “shaking beef” with lemongrass. Beware of the high volume of the restaurant.
Amazing food (shrimp appetizer; steamed Chilean sea bass; roasted banana and tapioca pudding) were delicious. Fun, hip restaurant in a cool location. One of my Top Ten restaurants in NYC!!
We were seated right away which was great, food is always good here, there were some loud Birthday parties going on and it was extremely noisy the night. The server was very attentive, checking on us frequently.
It was great! I’ e Been going there since the 80’s and it’s always been consistent! I miss Undochine🤗
Best service, incredible cocktails, awesome decor, fun vibe. So much fun & the banana dessert is fabulous
We went for my husband’s birthday. The food was excellent. The children said the food was very good, they ate it all - and these are very picky eaters. I would definitely recommend Indochine to anyone looking to treat themselves to a wonderful night of food, service and ambiance.
Great food and service before a Jumbo Shrimp game. My go to restaurant downtown.
Overall the experience was great, despite the fact that we had to wait for at least 10 min until someone took our orders - all other servers were ignoring our wavings. The food is really good, go for the fluke carpaccio, fried spring rolls, summer roll of vegetables, shaking beef, crisp red snapper and the vietnamese bouillabaisse. Yummy! Restaurant is very dim lit and loud, so not very suitable for first dates.
Beautiful restaurant inside with beautiful people taking you to your seat and waiting on your table. Ordered shrimp and chicken spring rolls, steak salad, and noodle salad. They all had average taste, the portions were small to medium, and the prices for all three were outrageous.
Die besten Jahre sind vorbei, Essensqualität sehr bescheiden!
Daher Preis-Leistung viel zu teuer.
Nicht empfehlenswert, da gibt es in NY besseres... BDK z. B...
Regulars for many years to this iconic NYC establishment. Always incredible food and service. Melanie who oversaw our table is the best!
Great food. Wonderful atmosphere and good drinks. Nice staff
Overrated, food is ok but not worth while. Mediocre service and much too noisy and far too cold inside
Loved it. Service was amazing, setting was retro cool and food was ace...
The acoustics is not good. We couldn’t talk. The food is excelent
Always amazing!!! Everytime! Love the food and ribs! Fish... All of it!
Wonderfull food. I had crab cakes to start and the sole filet with coconut and spices cooked in a banana leaf as a main dish.
Both were delicius.
Service from waitress at the entrance quite bad
The cocktails are delicious, the food is delicious, the room is beautiful, the staff is beautiful, gracious and provide excellent service. A 5 star experience all around and while not a low budget option it provides a 5 star value.
We went to celebrate out birthdays, my and my friend. The food was ok but not worth the cost I'd say.
They are coasting on their reputation or just the proximity to the Public Theatre. The eggplant on my dish was more seeds than eggplant! and the waitress forgot to bring my chocolate martini. When it did arrive it was not very good. My friend did enjoy his fish, but I am a foodie and I was really not impressed. We should have gone elsewhere -- but it was his choice!
Always Superb! One of my favorite, iconic places to go in New York.
This past weekend was my first visit to Indochine. Dinner was simply delicious. I enjoyed a number of items from the menu , each one better then the last. The service was good and our waitress cheerful and extremely helpful. I look forward to my next visit and have placed Indochine on the top of my restaurant list when visiting New York.
I’ve always loved it and it’s lasting beautifully over the years.
Enjoy the atmosphere as usual, but it is very, very loud. Favorite cold apps continue to be the fluke carpaccio and eggplant. Love them.
I often go to indochine for the excellent food and great decor and fun. But the service is deteriorating each time with it sometimes impossible to get a wit staff to help or get another drink or whatever. Too hectic to make the trip worth it anymore. Too arrogant a place and it feels like they're doing a favor to serve you.
Food was very blah
Friends from Amsterdam
The crab cakes were the best I've ever had -- fantastic! And the snapper was outstanding! Our server was attentive, the restaurant is beautiful, and we loved the entire experience.
Always adore Indochine! Excellent and consistent food with a great vibe! A New York City modern classic!
LOVE this place! Classically elegant, cool, sophisticated, yet everyone there is so friendly and surprisingly attitude-free. Service impeccable; food delicious and good-sized portions; really good (strong)cocktails.
A vestige from the old 80s still viable and even more perfect than ever. Once you have class, you never lose it - and this is one classy place. Can't wait to go back!
Our go to place whenever we go to the Public. The salmon dish is fabulous; crisp on the outside and rare inside.
Indochine is so convenient for public theatre performances it is hard to resist. The ambience is very nice but the menu has many spicy items so that if one cannot eat hot food it is a chore in selecting things without chilis.
Always a treat - the food is exotic and unusual - Northern Vietnamese - lots of wonderful combinations - the staff is outstanding and the atmosphere is lovely - and with all that, it's across the street from The Public Theatre
I can't say enough about this restaurant, I think I have been coming here for 25 years. I used to be a regular in the late 1980s and 1990s and then just began coming again about ten years ago and honestly it may be harder to get a reservation now than it was then! The food is always OUTSTANDING, no matter what you get! The spicy beef salad is the best that I have had anywhere hands down. My favorite dinner is the Chilean sea bass with sticky rice. This weekend we opted for sea bass, spicy shrimp, sticky rice and the grilled eggplant. Of course dinner was preceded by the cucumber and chili martini and my friend had red wine. The atmosphere is always lively and a great scene. I wound up coming back after my show at the theatre for dessert, coffee and more wine because we wanted more Indochine. I highly recommend and hope they stick around for another 25 years. The best!!!!!
We have eaten at Indochine many dozens of times over the last twenty years. We are happy to say that the food, service and ambiance remains superior. Keep up the great work...
One of my fav place in NY.
Beautiful place, nice people and amazing food.
Only challenge is the noise. Very loud.
But still, amazing experience!
We hadn't been to Indochine since the 80s and were pleasantly surprised to find it both the same and evolved. The Martinis were excellent, the food was very good, and the service was friendly, capable and not fussy. The seating was comfortable and even with people to the left and right of us, we didn't feel crowded though I was eyeing those round booths across from us.
The only thing we could have done without was the noise level steadily increasing as the evening progressed. We'll chalk that up to our age, but given that we can hardly be the only ones that are taking a trip down memory lane, maybe still something to keep in mind.
My favorite restaurant for decades.
Gale made our night perfect (as always).
