It was very loud, restaurants in nyc don’t put enough emphasis on sound buffering. It’s ok to have energy and a crowd but the sound just echoes off the wall and right back at you, piercing. Also food was overpriced for what it was.
The food was delicious. The service and ambiance were great
Great ambiance and great food in this lovely Manhattan restaurant. We were a party of 8 and had a great time.
Iconic and always an incredible experience. Food and service always the best
Love this restaurant. Food is consistently good and the service is great.
Amazing experience. We just had the best dessert of our life! Banana and coconut milk :)
I’ve been coming to indochines for years and the service had always been excellent. This last visit was really poor
I did not like the food or service. We were there for my birthday and they stuck us in this weird seat where you did not have space to move. The couple that came in right after us got a booth. It was such an uncomfortable seating arrangement. The food was also nothing to write home about abd service was sub standard. I would not go here again.
Good food, great service and great drinks! Shots were a bit watered down though.
Food was excellent but the waitress had an attitude which was not at all appropriate because it is an informal and relaxed place. Even though we ordered regular Prosecco she tried to sell us more expensive Rose and in fact brought it to our table until we asked her to take it back to give us what we ordered
Indochine on our recent visit was as good as ever. Coming early (6-6:30) and getting a table in the back helps with the noise level which is reached an hour or so later. the food is delicious, especially the sole and snapper among the very delicious fish entrees. the coconut creme brule and lemon tart are standout desserts.
I love Indochine and is one of my go-to's when I have friends visiting from out of town. Great food and great ambiance. I was disappointed this last visit however with cocktail options - there isn't that many cocktails listed on the menu and they wouldn't customize a drink for me. I'm not sure if it was my waiter or the bartender or both - but they weren't accommodating. I think most restaurants that are like Indochine have mixologists that are eager to customize a drink for your tastes. If you are a cocktail-person then Indochine may not be the place for you.
The restaurant was a great delusion. The place was over heated and the service was poor. The waiters were unfriendly. The food was very much below expectations, in some case not edible (grilled salmon burned was not possible to eat). Certainly the food was not worth the very high price. The first wine we chose we had to send it back because it was not good. The second one was barely drinkable but very expensive. Overall a place extremely expensive and not worth it the effort and the money at all. Awful experience.
The food was excellent. was kind of disturbing that in a restaurant of this caliber, every time food came to the table the servers did not who belonged to what dish
Great evening. Excellent food and wine. The atmosphere was great and the staff were really attentive.
We have been dining at this restaurant on and off for many years. It never disappoints. The food is always delicious and the staff is not only gorgeous but also possibly the best service in town. There are several outstanding dishes on the menu - the fluke appetizer, the sea bass and all the vegetarian choices. The deserts are outstanding . It should be on everyone’s list if they enjoy south Asian food with a twist. All around a 5 star experience .
Amazing from start to finish.
Exelent , great ambiance, good food .
Poorest service ever
Birthday daughter which i mention when i make the reservation but there was no reaction from staff but we had also a good time!
Food and ambience was fine but the service didn’t match. The servers lacked attention to details, were sloppy. Quite unfortunate.
I have been coming to Indochine since the late 70's. It was a wonderful find then and still is. Food is delicious and the staff are attentive. In addition the staff are always wonderfully dressed.
Delicious food with good sized portions. Pretty atmosphere dim lighting. A little hard to read the menu had to use light from the phone. Staff was very pleasant but not overly friendly. The restaurant was not super busy at the time we went and they left us alone and didn’t push us out. The best part about this place was the delicious food.
While the vibe and decor are fantastic, Indochine is a bit too pretentious for the quality of food, level of service, and comfort. There was a long wait to get seated despite a reservation and the dining room is cramped. The food is fair and not worth the cost and the service is slow. I’ve been many times over the years but won’t return.
For the second time in as many visits it took 45 minutes past our reservation time to get our table. Hostess didn’t seem to care or do anything to accommodate us
Great food and ambiance, too bad the service really killed the experience. I don't mind some level of affectation in delivery and mood, but the server was completely ineffectual, vacant, and uninterested in our enjoyment or satisfaction at all times of the meal.
Understand the place is more of a scene, but rude service as part of the 'fun' went out with the 90's...
Love the food! The waitresses are great and their outfits are always so fashionable. Always a fun place to dine and wonderful food.
Our waitress marina was so lovely and we had
it is a great reinvigorated classic. normally great but this evening it was too packed , like a factory
Interesting menu and beautiful dining room. My soup was excellent. My spicy octopus salad was salty, which was disappointing. Drinks were nice, and service is excellent.
I use to love this restaurant. Food has become mediocre. The noise levels are deafening. This restaurant has gone down measurably.
Love the ambiance of this restaurant. Food and service are excellent too. I especially love the sticky rice with sausages which was delicious with the crispy red snapper! Though prices are a bit steep, the prix fixe menu is good value. Have a sip of the Lychee Saketini while waiting for your table or while chilling at the bar, it is sweet and can be deceptively intoxicating in a good way.
We are from out of state, but this is our forth time there. The first time was outstanding and each one was exactly the same. OUTSTANDING in every aspect. This one is a must do. I can't say enough good about it. I collect NYC menus only and frame them as wall art. The criteria is they have to be outstanding or historical.
Indochine is outstanding and hangs on my wall of fame top center.
Food was fine, but service was awful. Waitress super rude and had an attitude with us - didn't have an attitude with the other tables next to us. Would not recommend Indochine and will never go back. It's not worth it to be treated like garbage by the staff.
Everything was great the service the food the cocktails I would definitely go back again
One of the most beautiful food experience in NYC, amazing food.
One of those standards which has managed to maintain quality through the years. Always stylish, delicious food, a fun place to be. Appreciate that they have not tried to reinvent themselves - no need to, why change a winning formula. Wish it were a little quieter, but, not exactly contrary to the norm. Wish there would be more efforts to keep noise levels at a reasonable level.
Everything was great. The waitress was attentive and informative. The food was delicious.
My family and I have been going to Indochine for our birthday for over 15 years. The quality of food has not budged. Amazing.
Well, the food was great but the service was abysmal. We were there at 5:30 for pre-theater dining, so it wasn't at all crowded. Still, it took 30 minutes to get drinks and the appetizers came before the cocktails. I could see other tables getting drinks and food in a timely manner, so I believe the problem was just with our server, not with all of them. Eventually we gave up on our waitress and started ordering things from the busboy, who was very attentive and effective. The food was delicious, so I say go to Indochine and just cross your fingers that you don't get our inattentive server.
