About this restaurant

Indiya in Collingswood has been serving authentic Indian cuisine since 2012 under the direction of Chef Bhasin. Lamb and goat form the basis for many of the menu items, including goat curry beli-ram which is slow cooked bone-in goat in the Punjabi style. Lamb rogan josh is lamb morsels cooked in Kashmiri spices along with yoghurt and saffron. Of course Indiya also offers chicken and seafood dishes as well as a full selection of vegetarian delights. For dessert, Chef Bhasin recommends the masala “chai” ice-cream, which is Indiya's best seller. Everything at Indiya is home made from scratch. Catering is available, and private parties of up to 50 people can be accommodated.

This is a great spot for lunch (all you can eat buffet that includes dessert), and a nice dinner. Would be great for dinner with friends, in a group, date night, really anything. It's a BYOB (of course in Collingswood). We went for Restaurant week, though we didn't all order from he menu, which was great. They had two separate RW menus, $25 and $35 menus. Teo of us ordered from the RW menus and two ordered from the regular menu. It was great that they accommodated that, often restaurants will not, and will say one or the other only. Three of us had lamb, that was delicious. The apps were fantastic. Fav was the crispy cauliflower. I'd go back just for that. So many gluten free and vegetarian choices!

We have visited a few Indian restaurants in the area, including philly, and Indiya is our new favorite. My husband is vegetarian and their menu easily accommodated both of our needs. Can't wait to go back!

Don't miss the cauliflower appetizer. We didn't go to Indiya with the intention of having a vegetarian meal but that's what we did. The baby eggplants in the coconut sauce were wonderful and the nine vegetable navrattan korma is delightful. The naan bread is some of the best I've ever had.

This was our second visit to Indiya, and we intend to come back again soon. We enjoyed sharing the crab cake appetizer. The tandoori shrimp were very good, but I couldn't call them great. My vegetable korma had an outstanding creamy sauce. It is a dish we have had often and this is the best version ever! The dal was, again, the best version of this dish I have ever had. I love the small serving of salad that comes with each meal. We ordered the mixed bread basket ($4) and loved every bite. We had several pieces leftover and took the remainder home to be enjoyed again another day. We had room for dessert and chose to share the galub jamun. While there were only two pieces per serving, it did come with a small scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Diverse, interesting menu, good service, nice atmosphere. Good food, about the same as Coriander and Cross Culture. No raves, no complaints. Suggest skipping the silly out-of-the-bag chips they provide, and go straight to the Naan, which was good.

If you love Indian food, you should try Indiya! Sister restaurant to the lovely Coriander in Voorhees, a bit smaller but the same fabulous food. Went to dinner on an Amazon Local deal, definitely recommended if you want to save a couple bucks. Took a friend who never had the cuisine before and he loved it! Their buffet is always top notch and cannot be beat. Tables seem a bit small and close but we happened to get sat at the table by the window which provided a pleasant experience. Can't wait to go back for the Non-Veg Thali!

If you're a fan of the food from Coriander in Voorhees, then you'll automatically love Indiya as this is owned by the same people, with basically the same menu. If you're not familiar with them, then you're in for a treat. Right up there on my list of the best Indian food in the area. The building is similar to others on the main restaurant row - narrow and kind of noisy, but that's to be expected. And don't forget to BYOB. Try it, you won't be disappointed!

I got exactly what I was hoping for when dining at Indiya - a great introduction to flavors I had never experienced before. Everything I tried was great - Ragda patties with chick peas was outstanding. As a heat enthusiast I selected the hottest item on the menu and found it to be a comfortable eat...spicy but not hot, very enjoyable. The Indian rice pudding was excellent as well. The waiters were very kind, accommodating and willing to take the time to explain things to first time diners like me. The restaurant was a little warm for my liking, but the décor was charming and fit the experience well. I had a great time.
