Indigo-Springfield Ratings and Reviews
Always love Indigo. Held my wedding reception there years ago and have been a regular ever since. The food is usually excellent. The service is on spot. Never too chatty, but never feel abandoned. The owners are very friendly, checking in with you throughout the night to be sure the meal is going as planned. My wife and I will be returning soon. She loves the Sea Bass. I like the Filet Mignon . Both are excellent.
Great selection of adult beverages so you can raise your class and cheers to an evening out. Portion sizes are good. You can easily enjoy an appetizer (we shared), salad, entree, and a dessert (we shared). Ambiance is great! Quiet and romantic (kinda of dark and candle lit). It's a perfect date night spot!
We meet friends 3-4 times a year for dinner-Springfield is half way point for both couples. We have enjoyed Indigo for several years as our meeting place.
The service on Sunday was wonderful-the staff was helpful and knowledgeable about the menu.
Our friends were disappointed in the wine selection. Not being a wine drinker, I had no issue but they felt selection was limited.
In the past , I would have responded that the food was outstanding. Sunday, I would only say good. I had pork chop and felt it was a little to well done/dry. Taste was fine but a little chewy!
Sword fish was deemed "okay".
As noted earlier, we have been extremely happy in the past but can only say OK for our visit last Sunday.
I had a moderately spicy scallop dish that was quite good. My Caesar salad was rather small, and my dessert was a chocolate/peanut butter cheesecake, which was pretty good, but not outstanding. Very nice, attentive waitress.
Went on a tuesday night which may explain why there were only 3 couples (including us) in the dining area. Bar picked up as the night went on. Very quiet. Very very dark. Overall, food was very bland. Had the hot dates appetizer which were filled with blue cheese and wrapped in bacon. Couldn't tell that there was blue cheese at all. Had the lamb and wife had filet. Meat didn't taste that they were seasoned at all. The cook was good (both were medium). The side with the filet was a fried potato salad. But the potatoes weren't crispy at all; they just absorbed the oil. The fried potato salad was lacking salt as well. The potatoes with the lamb were blue cheese mashed potatoes. But again lacking salt and didn't taste like there was any blue cheese in them. Both served with steamed vegetable blend. But again lacking salt. Had creme brulee for dessert which was good. Service was also really good. Have talked to other people who have had similar opinions about the food but have gone again and had better food. Food is inconsistent and quality may depend on which day you go.
My wife and I decided to have a private dinner and chose Indigo. We have been here several times and have never been disappointed in the food quality and selection. The server was very nice and made our evening enjoyable. Great meal and visit again.
My husband ordered the bone in ribeye special without asking the price. The price ended up being $60. Maybe this wouldn't have been a problem but the steak was nearly flavorless and the bleu cheese potatoes were disappointing as well. Entrée are usually under $40 at this restaurant. We won't be back.
My family and I wanted a good steakhouse that we had not been too and your restaurant popped up. My son had rack of lamb. He loved it. I had the sea bass. Was cooked to perfection. My man had the filet. His was delicious. Thank you
Fabulous! Each of the 4 of us ordered something different (jerk chicken, filet mignon, pork chop, Chilean sea bass), and each of us felt it was the best food we'd ever had. Totally worth the price. Great, personalized service. Quirky and fun atmosphere. No wait. Will return. Excellent way to celebrate a special occasion. Memorable
Always love the tuna entree! And the portions are very substantial. The dates and deviled eggs both were great appetizers.
Our server was on top of everything and quite knowledgeable.
It's a perfect spot for gathering with friends or just a couple celebrating with an evening out.
This was a chance booking as my husband and I had no idea what to expect. Being in a strip mall I was not sure about our experience but you can't judge without a try.
The service was great. I had rack of lamb. Delish! My husband had king crab legs. The sides were made with care and the house made lemon bar was fresh lemony.
We had a wonderful evening and We both would go back.
I don't know where to begin with this local gem. The exterior tells very little of what's inside. On this personal note, since the three of us were semi-regulars, and our last visit was 2 yrs. ago, it felt like old homecoming. Upon entering, we were greeted by owner/operator Mike Novel and server Lindsey Eyre, who then showed us to our table. I won't go into the specifics of why this evening was so special and why things that were done throughout the meal were equally special. Take my word for it. The food, in one word was excellent. Those of us who had steaks were encountered with meat cooked to perfection, as well as being tender and tasty. If going with a party of 2 or 3 or more, I recommend each person get a separate appetizer, then share. My only issue was the lighting. It was quite dim upon entering, but even after my eyes got acclimated, I still had a difficult time seeing things. This may be just me. The décor is eclectic; I just wish I could see it better. It might be a bit pricey for the casual diner, but it's well worth it.
My Mothers steak was butterflied when it was clearly stated not to butterfly her steak. The manager deceitfully offered a free dessert. This was very underhanded as the waitress had already told us, prior to the Managers involvement, that the restaurant was giving a free dessert to all Mothers eating dinner. He then reluctantly took half off of our bill for THEIR mistake.
He did not have the decency on this MOTHER'S DAY to take the whole meal off of the bill.
My Mother was embarrassed by all of this inappropriate nonsense.
We will think twice before returning to this establishment!
My wife and I have been enjoying the food, the ambiance, the service for a long time, and hope to continue to do so. We consider Indigo a place to retreat, to abandon the daily routine and to enjoy each other. It is like no other place in this city!!!
This is the type of restaurant where I struggle to order because everything sounds wonderful. We were a group of 5 and ordered 4 appetizers. They are small in portion but we all got a few bites of something. The duck enchiladas are incredible. The entrees were fabulous and worth the price point. We also ordered three desserts and kept passing the plates. Do NOT pass up dessert. The lemon bar was an incredible note on which to end. We will definitely be back!
My wife and I go to Indigo several times a year. Last Tuesday we visited to celebrate St. Valentine's Day. The table at which we were seated was about the size of a large pizza pan; not intimate, but crowded. And, because it was on the central aisle leading to the bar and an event occurring in the banquet room, there was a constant flow of traffic.
I ordered prime rib, and it was dreadful. It had no flavor, was cold, and was ridiculously over-priced. The mashed potatoes, also cold, were heaped on the plate with half of them residing on top of the prime rib and were without flavor. (In short, the presentation was not pleasant.)
My wife had her usual, the sea bass. While the fish was wonderful, as it always is, the sauce was overpowering and detracted from the taste of the bass. As mentioned above, the mashed potatoes were cold and without flavor.
We will not return to Indigo, and that is disappointing for us. But when you pay more than $100 for a meal and can't appreciate it, the decision to stop patronizing the restaurant, the decision is easy.
The only downside to this was the waitress suggested a wine to us, that ended up costing $130 for a bottle. Yes, we should have asked the price - but also yes, she should have mentioned it too. Don't be caught - ask the price before you purchase a bottle of 'suggested' wine. Not happy about that at all. Otherwise, a good business dinner.
