I enjoyed myself at Clay Pot. The Chicken Tika Masala Dosa was amazing! Also the Manchurian Baby Corn was nice and spicy. Ambience was nice, wait staff was very attentive as well. I will be going back for more soon!
Overall we had a great meal! The service was a little slow (which was not a big deal since we expected it, but sometimes this meant people went without water cups or they brought naan midway through our entree). The food was so good, though, that we will go back!
This was our third time there in two months. My kids actually like this, they thought they didn’t like Indian food. They beg to go for the butter chicken and naan. I love the various lentil and veggie dishes. Nice atmosphere and the service has always been friendly. Especially like that it’s closer to home than Devon A e.
Overall a tasty experience! Larger portions and great taste, the food actually rese
Mediocre. I don't know why it gets such good reviews, except that its cheap, and not bad.
Delicious ‘street food’ appetizer, great menu, thoughtful service, excellent vegetable entree and breads.
Food is good, service is not. If unfamiliar with the cuisine, don’t expect the server to help you besides telling you which items “sells” the most.
Awesome food and outstanding service , we went last week table for 2 , the food was awesome I have tried many Indian restaurant.some of them good some of them was good ,but Indian clay pot , was great food and the service was fantastic, the lady who served us keep checking everything is ok, and tried to explain everything about food, we ordered butter chicken, lamb vindaloo garlic nan samosa herb tea, everything was great and ingredients are so fresh you can feel it...we gonna reserve again with large group. Highly recommended..
We found this restaurant on line based on location and good ratings. My cousins and I eat Indian a lot and we were a mixed group in terms of liking things spicy or not. We thought the service and food were very good. My cousin who likes spicy and ordered very spicy said it was one of the spiciest he ever had. the rest of us ordered mild mango chicken and chicken tikka masala. both were good and just as ordered. rice and naan were very good. we ordered the vegetarian dish that usually is with potatos and caulifllower but i asked if they could do it with just cauliflower and t hey did and it was terrific. My cousin ordered a lentil dish for her daughter and said though they ordered it mild it was a little spicy. One improvement suggestion I would make is to bring the rice with the main courses or even before since many people use it as a bed. One of the best Indian restaurants I have eaten at in Chicago and I have tried many.
The flavors were very good. However, the entrees were too heavy on the sauce and not enough vegetables and meat. Also, the entrees do not come with anything like naan or rice. The server on several occasions was not around, and the restaurant was not that busy.
You’ll want to come here. Attentive service and delicious food. They chef takes pride in the food and restaurant.
My only complaint would be the dessert only came with two small pieces. At $4.95 that’s a bit pricy for two small balls of gulab jamun. For that price there should be at least 4-6 small balls.
I will go back for sure!
Terrific Indian food, very well prepared. Loved the dosa and accompanying sambhar & tomato/hot pepper chutney (though I wish the chicken was dark meat). Chana masala, bhel puri, baingan bharta, spicy naan and grilled paneer all excellent too. Solid spicing, nice texture for everything. The only other minor letdown was the slightly undercooked roti. Add in that it's byo. This place will save me some trips to Devon.
Really authentic Indian flavors that take me back to the Subcontinent in a flash.
The food here is simply GOOD! Everything we ordered from Dosas, curries and claypot Chicken we’re very good! The portions are not to big but the taste makes up for it. The business has just opened when we went there, not everything on the menu was available. Waiting for their lunch menu.
The Indian food was quite tasty and fresh. Looking forward to going back to try other dishes. I do wish they offered chutney(s) & papadam. All in all the food was quite good. And better than any place on Devon Ave these days.
This Resturant opened only a month ago, perhaps they will offer those items I mentioned in the near future.
