The word Incontro means encounter, signifying the coming together of the cuisine from the mountains of north of Italy, to the beautiful hills of Tuscany and the southern Italian regions on the Adriatic Sea. Our menu is uncomplicated, but there is always a new encounter with special items that change weekly. Our bread, dessert and pasta are made by hand on the premises daily.

Incontro Ratings and Reviews
I took my husband to dinner here for his birthday. The place is cute, it looks like it used to be a home and turned into a restaurant. It has on-site parking in the back of the restaurant. It has a nice large out door seating area with a bar. One of the tables has a firepit on it ! I want to have that table for a GNO next time. The decor inside is nice and a good ambiance. There is an indoor bar as well. The food was really good. The service was OK, I expected much better from this type of restaurant. But, I will definitely like to go back and sit outside maybe in the Spring or Summer!
We were celebrating a birthday and we were more than happy with the service and the food. The Server was very attentive to our needs without being intrusive. He knew the menu well and of course he had some personal favorites. Keep doing what you're doing and you will continue to have repeat business.
I will happily admit that Incontro has a beautiful patio in which we thoroughly enjoyed sitting. The service was excellent and the waiter was most affable. I started by ordering a Manhattan which was actually pretty good although it was $16 and couldn't have been more than one and a half ounces sitting on top of the large ice cube. The caprese salad was very good and the chili oil was a nice touch. Unfortunately, both of our meals were a great disappointment. I was expecting an authentic, Italian lasagna with Italian sausage but, instead, it was a lot of melted cheese on top of a bland, pasta casserole. My date considers me a "food snob" and states that I am too critical although she did agree that it was a disappointment. She ordered a pesto pasta which was adequate but not al dante and not very hot. It really is a shame since it is such a nice ambience but a gastronomic disappointment.
We've gone there many times, but something was "off" this last time. The veal parmesan had no cheese and it was nothing special and just didn't taste quite right. The service was very slow and it took a long time to get a working heater as we were outside. Also, they were out of the first 3 red wines that we ordered and were told it was because it was the end of the month. I don't know if there is new management, but we won't be going back there for awhile and hope that they will get it together!
Lived in the East Bay and driven by this restaurant countless times. That was a mistake. My wife and I visited on a weeknight for a dinner date. Food was outstanding as was the service. Great place for authentic Italian and patio seating is great for a nice day or evening.
Severely understaffed..... Had to wait 15 mins after being seated to have the manager wait on us. Never saw a waiter.....never... long wait between courses... Had to go find the manager to have coffee, which he served ice cold...had to go back an make a fresh pot... The whole night was like this....
Overall the food and service were very good. The Scallops were excellent as was the Eggplant Lasagna, with both expertly presented. The Gnocchi was good but uninspired. The waiter, a pro.
The one disappointment was our seating, which was inside as requested. But, we were placed in a room that was soon vacated by the other two occupied tables. This resulted in our awkwardly sitting alone in the back of a banquet room when there was plenty of seating in the front of the restaurant when we arrived. Shame on the maître d for thoughtless seating that clouded an otherwise good experience. Avoid the back of the restaurant.
Great ambiance and service. Food was good - not great. Great outdoor seating, music on the weekends (outside), timely service - even when crowded, private parking in the back, and fun outdoor bar as well. Indoors is very well done. Private dining area that looks very intimate and quiet for a working dinner / party. We sat on the porch and had a good experience. With all of the competition popping up in Danville, I hope the food eventually matches the ambiance.
Second time here, this time was much better than the first. The staff works hard and is very accommodating. The ambiance and location is attractive if you live in the area. It is in the center of downtown Danville.
I had the veal parmigiana and my wife had red snapper, one of the specials that evening. Both of us agreed we would not order the same dishes again if we were to return to Incontro.
First visit to Incontro, since they moved from San Ramon to Danville. Nice ambiance and easy to visit with dinner companions. Food was tasty and large portions and prices were fair. Only negative was one in the party wanted coffee with her dinner and it took three requests before the coffee was finally delivered. Also wait staff cleared dishes promptly but never offered to refill water glasses.
Lovely setting to eat outside on a beautiful evening. Food was average. I had the capellini with tomato and shrimp. For a mid-summer time, the tomatoes were not very ripe or red. And the capellini was left out a while, so it was kind of stiff on top instead of soft and nice to eat.
My family and I went there for my "cheat day" and to maximize all the yumminess I decided a brunch would help satisfy all the things I missed over the past month and I wasn't disappointed. For me the biggest plus was how much my kids loved it because they are picky eaters but my son was all to eager to try many of the things they offered in both the warm and cold sections of the buffet. The one thing we all agreed was our favorite was the French Toast, it is a brunch must have. If you are looking for a nice, easy, and tasty Sunday Brunch with the family then I highly recommend!
We ate at Incontro on a slow Tuesday night. It was not crowded, and we chose to sit outside so that we could enjoy the lovely weather and the sidewalk traffic scene. The food was delicious. Three of us ordered the scallops. Came on a bed of mashed potatoes and veggies with a citrus/grapefruit puree - wonderful!
