The word Incontro means encounter, signifying the coming together of the cuisine from the mountains of north of Italy, to the beautiful hills of Tuscany and the southern Italian regions on the Adriatic Sea. Our menu is uncomplicated, but there is always a new encounter with special items that change weekly. Our bread, dessert and pasta are made by hand on the premises daily.

Incontro Ratings and Reviews
Expensive, busy, loud Valentine ‘s dinner at a local neighborhood restaurant. Incontro has always been mediocre but it is a place of convenience for us. There’s really nothing to write home about. For this particular occasion, the lobster tail was absolutely murdered and over cooked. The filet was better but on the tough side. Service was efficient but impersonal and hurried.
The food was good, the service was a little intrusive (the wait staff could have checked a little less often). Our seating was a bit crowded -felt squeezed into the spot even though there were not other customers seated near us. The wait staff was friendly and polite, but periodically noisy, talking loudly to one another > annoying and rude.
Perhaps I am expecting too much. But if I had to make some observations I would say the following. The food was okay. I would say average for this price point. But no meal stood out as something we would come back to have at this restaurant. Two had lasagna with spinach and liked the lasagna but not the spinach. It took a little too long to order a drink after we were seated. I actually asked the hostess who was our waiter. And I said everything is fine but when he gets a chance ask him to come over. It was a very busy Saturday night. And I still gave him a 20% tip. And I will go back again.
We had a regular reservation. When we arrived the hostess said we booked on the patio. We said no. She was almost insistent until we stood firm. She then put us in a cramped table behind her station. It was ok. The first guy brought water right away. Then we just sat waiting and waiting. We asked the first guy if he could get our waiter he said ok. A few minutes later he came over. Anyway, The food did not take to long. They did mess up the salads but ok. The food was average. We have been here a few times and like the nice quiet atmosphere. Well, That night was not the same. The people at the table next to us were entirely to loud. We could hardly hear each other. And it kept getting worse. We ate our food quickly and left. Pretty sure it was a one time thing ( We hope ) because we do like the food.
My family of 10 celebrated 3 birthdays for Sunday Brunch. Excellent ambiance, great service and value, and the food was excellent, from cook to order omelettes and waffles, with the added touch of Italian flair (tortellini / mini pizzas) to a typical American breakfast brunch buffet. Definitely will be visiting again for any occasion! They have good parking in the back too!!!
It is January and we were greeted by the hostess telling us that they have our table set for the patio! Seriously? We declined the patio and were seated indoors after a bit of a wait. We were seated in an overly packed room next to a trio discussing a recent divorce.....
The foot was good enough but not inspired. The service was fine and not rushed. But, with all the choices in Danville, I think it will be a while before we feel compelled to come back. Maybe when it is warm again and we don't mind being asked to sit outside.
Very pleasant experience. Food was fabulous, service very attentive, and noise level low so a group of five could easily carry on a conversation. My first time eating at Incontro and I would definitely return. A great experience at a reasonable price. Note it was a Wednesday night so weekends could be noisier and more crowded.
We thought it would be a nice New Yesrs Eve dinner with smiling faces and party atmosphere. We were placed in a door way where my husband had to duck several times to not be hit in the head with bar glasses. Other than water, no one asked if we wanted a beverage, then we had to flag someone down for a refill! They brought me a butter knife with my steak —-won’t be going back.
The building is beautifully decorated and great indoor and outdoor seating options. Food is very good and the service is awesome. I've been there with teenage kids as well as "date nights" and both were great. Convenient parking behind the restaurant is helpful in downtown Danville. When I book on OpenTable they call me back and reconfirm, which I like, gives me confidence that my reservation is solid, and they let me know about anything special going on, like their New Year's menu.
Was sad to see some of my favorite dishes off the new menu and not much available for vegetarians. The server was able to recommend some items that made a selection helpful however so this was much appreciated. Would return and especially enjoy their outdoor seating when the weather agrees,
I took my husband to dinner here for his birthday. The place is cute, it looks like it used to be a home and turned into a restaurant. It has on-site parking in the back of the restaurant. It has a nice large out door seating area with a bar. One of the tables has a firepit on it ! I want to have that table for a GNO next time. The decor inside is nice and a good ambiance. There is an indoor bar as well. The food was really good. The service was OK, I expected much better from this type of restaurant. But, I will definitely like to go back and sit outside maybe in the Spring or Summer!
We were celebrating a birthday and we were more than happy with the service and the food. The Server was very attentive to our needs without being intrusive. He knew the menu well and of course he had some personal favorites. Keep doing what you're doing and you will continue to have repeat business.
