One Market Restaurant
Superb experience (my third, the first for the other 3 members in my party). Food is tasty , small but appropriate quantities. Interesting mix of sources and types of food. Menu is interesting with descriptions of where menu items came from. Loved the quiet, allowing us over-sixty-ers to heat one another without difficulty. In Situ delivered a little birthday cake and candle at dessert tine to the man whose birthday we were celebrating. Only disappointment (a tiny one) was the vodka martini—too small and dilute, missing the requested twist of lemon, though the olives were plentiful. None of the featured cocktails had a vodka base. But overall, an AAAAA dining experience, one I hope to repeat again soon.
FANTASTIC FLAVORS! Everything we had at In Situ was beyond incredible. Key highlights: carrot soup, lobster carpaccio, potato and roe, and filet of beef.
Food looks like art but a little too salty to my taste.
The carrot soup is incredible. An explosion of flavor.
Service and atmosphere are top notch but I cannot figure out how they have a Michelin star. Food was disjointed, at best. The tapoica app was recommended by the server was completely bland and the dipping sauce too sweet. One highlight was the cabbage dish. Everything else was underwhelming. Very pricey for the portions too.
Amazing creativity of food and flavors! Such a special experience.
It’s my favorite place to go in SF! Because it’s located in the Museum of Modern Art, it’s a nice destination lunch or dinner. The menu is devised from recipes around the world. Be sure to try the carrot soup...it comes in a shot glass.
Nothing was tasty. Food was “overworked” and pretentious. Flavors were tired and too sweet. Service was attentive — so attentive, we were constantly asked if we wanted more wine, even though we still had half of their small pour in our glasses. It is a lovely, quiet atmosphere, if a bit austere. In Situ is very expensive for the dining experience offered.
Nice way to wrap up a morning at the museum. Great food and service.
Quite good food. Seemed rather expensive. 20% “non gratuity” added to the bill which seemed a bit strange.
One of the best dining experiences I have ever had!
Food was great and interesting
Early dinner at 5:00 4 other tables sat for dinner
One of our party didn’t care for and couldn’t eat her stuffed fish dish. As it was to fishy tasting.
It was placed in the middle of the table for anyone to enjoy.
None of the servers noticed and asked if there was problem or if there was another dish she would prefer.
She went without any food.
In a high end establishment customers needs should be priority. Servers should be able to make sure food and experience is at the top of there list.
Amazing meal & service. Blown away by some of
the dishes. Definitely a must try in SF!
Fantastic concept, with amazing food. I love the high quality and high variety. Their service needs to improve; their staff are not enthusiastic about the meals they are serving.
We have eaten at the restaurant before but were thrilled when our very discerning friends adored it too. raves all around with plans to replicate the caviar and potato recipe.
Every bite was amazing. A must-do when in SF, especially after a day at MoMA.
Food was great. Drinks on menu paired great with each dish.
4-8 years ago this would’ve been a common desired destination for dining, but now it is something we don’t get to do as often. With that said, this was everything that was desired.
Thank you to the kitchen for the fantastic food (Raw lobster 👍), the sommelier for the pairing options, and the staff for the great experience.
Very creative dishes based on famous chefs around the world. Portion sizes are small. Service is good
One of the best meals I've had in SF. Ordered one of everything on the menu and each dish was something special. Will definitely be back!
Excellent drink, meal & service. Very subdued for Friday night, with many tables empty. The seating is somewhat harsh but relatively comfortable. Server was completely excellent, and the food was superb. Elegant cocktail was nice.
nothing impressive about the food. Supposed to be "cutting edge" but wasn't.
We’ve visited In Situ on three separate visits to San Francisco and enjoyed it each time. The food is always a combination of surprising but delightful and the wine matches complement it beautifully.
Our group of 6 ordered literally every dish on the entire menu--from every section--small to medium to large to deserts---and worked the cocktail and wine list---and it was amazing. I'd say, you need to double up on several of the dishes to make sure everyone gets a good sized portion--but even things which a conventional Western palate might seem puzzling (cabbage?) were amazing. We traveled through the leading restaurants and Michelin luminaries of 4 continents and 8 cities and never left our table in San Francisco. The chefs who entrusted their recipes to the team at In Situ to replicate and share---can rest easy. The trust has been kept; the food is amazing. This wasn't our first time there and we'll be back.
Great food. Great service. Fantastic restaurant!
Every bite was incredible! We asked our server Alex to be the expert and put the menu together for us - best decision
Though I am allergic to shellfish, there were a (limited) number of non-shellfish containing entrees. Everything was superb. Martini was excellent, so I didn’t sample the wines. Best of all was the quiet and comfortable seating.
Really enjoyed it. The ambience is great. And unlike most restaurants, it was quiet!!! :) Service was attentive, maybe just a bit more than I like. Food was delicious! Only issue is that the main course took a bit long to arrive.
Our fourth or fifth visit since you opened - always an extraordinary experience, that's now become somewhat usual, traveling to different cultures while staying in the same lovely place, not unlike SFMOMA itself...
A great concept brilliantly executed at very sharp prices. A must do every visit to SF. How clever is Corey Lee !
The food was better then we thought being a cafe in a museum. Love the food which changes menu and chefs every three months
Lovely food and service! I took my mother here for her birthday and the restaurant provided us with a delicious complimentary dessert to help us celebrate. Thank you In Situ!
We found it a challenge to work around our allergies and preferences, but it was wonderful.
The servers were good but nit
The service is excellent and the food is tasty, but, extremely small portions, exceedingly overpriced, and almost no menu options.
The food was very good and interesting. The waiters were very attentive and filled out my special request. It was a great anniversary dinner and I would certainly come here again.
I practice molecular gastronomy in my own kitchen and have no prejudicial/ ignorant ‘Whaaaat? They charged how much for a teaspoonful of *that*?’
But that teaspoon must be the purest most beautiful essence of an ingredient or two, that must serve in harmony. The ingredients at In Situ didn’t stand forth proud, and were muddled .
Great, diverse menu with super interesting dishes, unique textures, combinations, tastes. Love this restaurant.
We were a table of 12 and pretty much ordered everything. We really enjoyed ourselves and the staff was amazing. Highly recommend
The food as of 2019 is "hyped" Asian in small portions.. very disappointing to pay 100/person for foods you can readily get for $5. When I dined in 2018, the menu was much better- unique, upscale, with a bit of surprise.
