I love In Bloom. I was happy to get there before closures for COVID-19. I hope that you will be there when we can get back to eating out in the Spring.
Have been before for dinner, but not for brunch, which was this visit. Shortish menu, but great options. They are known for their Dutch Baby pancakes and they did not disappoint. Great cocktails to choose from as well. Super service. Can't wait to go back.
The food was good. The service was awful. Lack of attention and everything took a very long long time to appear at the table. My water glass was empty for 30 minutes (which is how long we waited to be asked about dessert ). For the price the service should be better
Entres, sides and drinks are all fabulous. Can hardly wait to go back.
Tried the brunch. It was great!
Chicken was very dry. Drinks were excellent as well as the ambience. However, the value of the food was way overpriced.
Food was great
Took a while to get our initial order in and a while to get the food but the dinner was very good
We were wandering around the Keg & Case, stopped into In Bloom to have a glass of wine and loved the look and feel of the restaurant. Loved the open kitchen with the wood-burning pit, and the aromas were very enticing.
Came back later that evening and had dinner. Food was very good and the service was good. Will be back to try some more of the offerings on the menu.
The food was ok. For the price I expect excellent. Mushrooms arrived cold. Steaks were meh. Brussel sprouts were very good. Waiter was wonderful.
Way too loud. Waiter seemed rushed. Overall a nice experience.
One of the best my wife have had in a long time! We sat at the counter and it was fun and delicious.
So very impressed, can't wait to go back. The New York stripe was wonderful.
Excellent meal, service, and ambience. Wonderful night with friends.
Best meal I’ve had in years!
Great food! The burger and flank steak were amazing! Our server was spot on as well.
The food was fresh and flavorful. The area is lovely and all of the other vendors add to the fun. I’m planning to return. We had a fantastic brunch and were not hurried to leave.
Mac’s service for our brunch was simply exquisite. Food was lovely and in right amounts of value for money. Highly recommend!
This is my third time and I was really looking forward to the food. However, the food was disappointing. The salmon was swimming in lemon. The scallops were small and covered in bread crumbs and bland. The grilled lettuce hearts were very underwhelming - I wouldn’t serve that to a guest at my home. The drinks, ambiance, and service were all significantly above average, but the food was really disappointing. Due to the high price, I won’t return for dinner or recommend. Really unfortunate that the food and value missed the mark. The owners need to go in and have dinner and reevaluate the food menu. It was so delicious when they opened and it’s disappointing. I hope the owners “revive” it.
In Bloom has been one of our favorite restaurants until our last visit. We went for a birthday dinner and decided not to have drinks. That appeared not to sit well with our server. We ordered several items and agreed to a service that would come out in two main courses. We were served our salad right away and then waited nearly an hour until all of the rest of our food came at once. We had ordered the pork chop which came out cold. After sending it back it was somewhat better but, after eating some of it, we noticed that some of it was still blood rare (not good for pork!). In our past 4 visits everything we had ordered was exceptional and served in a reasonably measured manner. This past time none of the food was better than ok and came at an unreasonable pace. Unfortunately, for a very expensive restaurant, I don't think we'll be keeping In Bloom on our list anymore.
salmon was a little overcooked, service a little slow. But overall a wonderful meal and I love the vibe.
The pork chop was very fatty. Maybe a warning would be in order. The pot pie was good, but was too mundane for an entree. The creme brûlée was excellent, the chocolate marquis was OK. Our server seemed spacey, or inattentive. The bus staff was good. The restaurant seems trendy and transitory rather than an ongoing destination restaurant.
In Bloom is a lovely restaurant in the Keg and Case building (old Schmidt brewery) in St Paul. In Bloom is owned by the same group that runs the Revival restaurants. The space is open to the larger building and because of this, we found it to be chilly even though the roaring cooking fires are continually being fed. I was glad to get in the car and turn the heat on. The food was delicious - we came during restaurant week - carrot soup, salmon and coconut panna cotta. All were delicious, however, and the reason I have to give only 3 stars - the wine prices! Not a Chardonnay under $13 a glass and the better oaked offering was $17/glass - ridiculous! We won’t be back due to the outrageous pricing for a glass of wine. Also, we had ordered the drop biscuits as a side (and suggested by our server) but never received them.
Expecting great food and interesting atmosphere. Food: average. Ambiance: moderately loud and smells like burning wood. Value: fair. I know I could have enjoyed far better food and not have to smell burning wood for the cost of visit.
Loved the food & the service. This place is great!
Tried the Restaurant Week menu of main dish salmon for me, pork chop for my partner. Appetizers of carrot soup and brusheta pate were good. Pork chop done well but not overly unique. Salmon was excellent - cooked perfectly over wood fire.
The Star was the desert - grilled pineapple and coconut with lime panacotta was to die for! I’m not a desert person really. The subtle sweet mixed with salty in cold was superb.
Overall chic and modern atmosphere with a cozy feel. Had a fine experience. We will come again. Maybe next time we’ll get handmade cocktails and the desert at the bar though ;).
Amazing food from start to finish! Watching the chefs work over the open hearths was a real treat and made us appreciate their work all the more. I had the duck pate to start and it was nice and smoky and very tasty. The pork chop was seasoned well and cooked to perfection. Others in my party had the chicken pot pie and they were so amazed by the flavor of the filling and the biscuit crust on top was delicious. Will be back again soon!
Restaurant week menu had some good choices. We enjoyed what we ordered. Because they were out of the wine we ordered they upgraded to a choice of two others which was really nice.
Wonderful food and drinks! It was a fun experience watching the chefs cook over the open fire. The wait for the food was well worth it.
Everything from our greeting at the entrance to the boxing of our meal was delightful. Our food was delicious and the experience was phenomenal.
Excellent staff. Limited liquor options, add Glenlevit 12. Oysters great, salmon incredible! Scallops were basic.
Everything tasted good. Nothing absolutely memorable as a dish. My friend is vegan so although several sides and apps available to pull a meal together I do not believe there was a truly vegan entree. So that would be certainly a nice option.
Slow, inattentive service. Several starters were microscopic. Mains ok. Good wine list (a bit pricey though). This was our 4th visit, the first 3 being better. Not sure if we’ll return
This place is the best. It has the best food and drinks, excellent service and ambiance and I can always get a reservation!
We took clients to In Bloom and it was the perfect, fun and relaxed environment for some social bonding! Kudos to the waitress (can't recall name unfortunately!) and the great food! Very seamless and great experience!
We absolutely loved it! Our server was wonderful and so accommodating. The food was delicious! Thank you!
Stupendous, as always. Service is top notch, as food is as good. This, coming from a classically trained chef and a service manager couple. We’ve spent years in this industry, and this place does it the best, in the twin cities, we feel. Thank you for the wonderful time, service, food, and attention to detail. Absolutely marvelous.
Food was delicious, tons of service and care that was exceptional! My next trip will be brunch, as I heard that’s also excellent. Sit at the counter, if you can. This team works so hard and is a joy to see!
Valentines Day: scallops came on plastic 'half-shell' displays - cute - steadied on a bed of something that turned out to be flavored rock salt. We received no warning at all. My wife injured her tongue from a salt burn on the 1st bite, and couldn't enjoy her meal - or $15 drink. 3 complaints to the waiter, but no action, no bill adjustment - and no manager visit. We feel robbed.
Just a great place for Saturday brunch. Good food, considerate and attentive service, very nice atmosphere. And whatever you're paying those chefs toiling over the fires, it's not enough....
Great food, service and ambience; although the music’s a bit loud?
