In Bloom at Keg & Case Market
Keg and Case is St. Paul’s most exciting eating and drinking project since beer was first brewed here in 1855! Inside the market you'll find a combination of chef-driven restaurants, craft beer and a uniquely curated market brimming with an eclectic mix of regional goods.
Outside, a bustling park is the backdrop for a diverse calendar of music, pop-up markets and events for all seasons. Revitalized and transformed, these welcoming spaces offer the community access to exceptional fare and new experiences with each visit.
Fantastic food and service. Highly recommend the counter seating to watch the artistry of the kitchen.
We ate dinner here on the first night of Restaurant Week. The restaurant menu was very nice, and it appeared that the restaurant wasn't offering up food from their regular menu. This is the second time I have eaten here, the first time was for lunch. I enjoyed it quite a bit, and will most likely be back. Service was very friendly and attentive. The restaurant also has reasonably priced wine by the bottle.
I asked for my salmon to be cooked thoroughly and only half of it was. My husband got the 2lb steak. It was pretty good but not worth $90.00
Very nice meal prepared expertly. Sold out of the wine we wanted but otherwise a lovely evening.
One of the best meals I’ve ever had in my life!
Gorgeous space and a unique concept — cooking everything only by open flame. The food was all amazing. Many flavors in the Roasted Things starter, sweet & salty & savory. The gnocci was unexpected, a single large portion like a polenta. Prices are on the high side.
I really want to give it 5 stars like we did after our first visit last year but this time our order was forgotten, waited over 1.5 hours for our food and in the end it was all cold. We might need another visit because we know it’s a fabulous place.
High school friend weekend getaway.
Atmosphere is wonderful. Service was not great. It didn’t feel like the server really knew the menu, and was not very attentive. The food was good, but I was expecting Corner Table quality and it wasn’t that. It is worth the experience but i don’t think it will be on my top list.
Very nice service. Upon arrival for our anniversary dinner, we were greeted with complimentary champagne. Thank you!
The food was fabulous! We were celebrating a birthday and they included a desert. The service and atmosphere were great. The market was also an added bonus to walk through and taste items for sale.
Wonderful experience from start to finish. Shared and enjoyed three brunch dishes. Leek & Mushroom Dutch pancake, huevos rancheros, and biscuits & gravy. Delicious. Our server was attentive, informative, and our glasses were always full with water and coffee. We will most definitely be back again. I only wish we had room for dessert!
Wonderful birthday dinner! Would highly recommend this restaurant!
Things were fairly noisy, which was bothersome, but to be expected on a busy Saturday evening. The food was delicious, albeit a little pricey for not getting any sides included with the entrees. Overall though I would definitely go back.
Our first but not last visit to In Bloom. We loved the ambiance; our server was fabulous - just attentive enough and available at just the right moments. My husband had the duck hearts - tender and seasoned perfectly. I had the salmon tartare - oh my goodness was it good!! My husband had the burger - not the best he's ever had - just so-so. I had the chicken thigh with leek risotto - loved it.
Cocktails were interesting and very tasty - good wine options.
Can't wait to return to try the pork chop.
Great ambiance and excellent service. Room was really drafty, especially in the area where the bar and dining room meet. Chicken thigh and strip steak were perfectly cooked and delicious!! Broccolini was overly smoky/grilled...tasted like fake smoke/lighter fluid and the sauce underneath it was really unappealing. Wine prices by the glass are on the high end ($14+) and could use some moderation to provide more options in the $9-$12 sweet spot. Bread service appeared to be 2 kinds of sourdough, so could use some variation in the choices. Radish salad was tasty, but I had gritty dirt/sand in mine. We'll try again when menu changes a bit, but expected food to be a bit better and more satisfying. Sadly, was hungry 2 hours later.
The atmosphere was awesome, such a pretty setting. The service was wonderful too. The food was delicious. The whole Keg and Case property is a fun place to go. There were three musicians playing by the outside fire that were awesome. Great ending to our evening.
All the good menu items are gone. Maybe chef Boemer’s heart is not in this place anymore. Or maybe diners only ordered the bland and boring items.
We got in early for our reservation and let the host know we were in the bar. The bartenders were solid and knew their stuff. At seven we checked on our reservation and the host said it would be a few minutes. After a few minutes we went back to the host who said out able wasn't quite ready. Fifteen minutes later we checked again and they seated us at a table that had been vacant for fifteen minutes. Not the most auspicious start to our "anniversary" dinner. The service was fine, but not polished. We ordered the barbecued oysters as a starter (3 oysters) and they were so good we ordered them again. The salmon was served very rare with thinly shaved mushrooms. It was tasty, but not exceptional. The pork belly entree was a gigantic serving, with a super crisp crust, but a little stringy. The nuom choc sauce was a little overwhelming, but I still ate every bite. The fennel and snap pea salad was fine. For a restaurant where woodfire cooking is the focus, it didn't seem to contribute to the flavor of what we ate. We liked it, but weren't wowed by the cooking. Normally I don't tick the box for a special event evening, but it was our 20th anniversary so I did, but it was not acknowledged in any way. We had a nice evening despite the hiccups, but I don't think we'll be rushing back.
Drinks were fantastic. Food was perfect. Service was stellar!
My family and I really liked this place. Everything from the decor, food, and delicious cocktails.
My only disappointment was the very limited food menu. It would be nice to have more choices. Other than that, it was perfect.
Brunch. I had the savory Dutch baby and my husband and a blueberry compote lemon ricotta Dutch baby. Both were very good. Fun to watch them cooking in the open wood fire. Great host!
The service and food was great. The noise level was a little loud at times. I was especially disappointed because this was a special occasion dinner. I notified them when I made the reservation it was my wife's birthday. When we arrived I confirmed this with the hostess. Yet they forgot and I reminded the hostess on the way out. Disappointing.
Our first visit and we were impressed with the food quality and dining experience. Service was attentive and we loved the venue which we strolled afterward and bought some yummy honey and enjoyed an excellent espresso drink at 5 Watt Coffee. We found a new favorite in In Bloom!
Awesome dining experience. Service personnel were exceptional, food was amazing and it’s our favorite place for Old Fashions.
Every aspect of our visit was excellent, but I was particularly impressed with the service. The hostess first led us to a table whose chairs proved to be uncomfortable for one of our guests with a cane. She noticed this and immediately moved us to a comfortable booth. Our server was knowledgeable, aware of our needs but never hovered. He became aware we were celebrating a birthday and put candles on our dessert choice. All in all a very enjoyable evening.
Excellent service and food - we enjoyed the menu and the ambience.
The ambience and service were wonderful! Interesting menu choices, mostly delicious but some of the sauces and dishes were a little too salty for me.
This was our first visit to In Bloom and we enjoyed it very much. The location is very nice and it is fun to browse through the marketplace in which it is housed. The restaurant is relatively small and I liked the open kitchen, comfortable seating and general ambiance. The menu is a bit on the eclectic side but all dishes were tasty. Our server was friendly but not particularly helpful. She failed to add any real value to our experience. Overall I would rate this restaurant as very good but not deserving the high praise that it has received in the local press. Restaurant of the year? I don't think so.
Excellent experience. Creative menu, great flavors. We appreciated being able to have a conversation without straining to hear or having to shout. Recommended.
We had an incredible meal at In Bloom...in town for the weekend and it was a highlight of our trip.
A must for any foodie. Great fresh food. They do a unique twist on some favorites.
Everything was perfect. This is clearly a talented chef and our favorite restaurant. This is a must for foodies am
Perfection from start to finish! There was no food that was mediocre, neither over nor under seasoned. Usually when we go to nice restaurants, there would be a hit or miss with the dishes but that was the first time we've had all hits. My favorite was the pork belly... It brought me back home! Perfectly crispy skin and juicy layer of meat and fat. The flavor was on point!
We enjoyed sitting at the counter and watching the kitchen prepare the meals! It was delicious!
The restaurant is beautiful and smells great when you walk in. Unfortunately, the food just didn't live up to the hype. We ordered multiple small plates and the pork chop to share. The "roasted things" with olives, dates, grapes, almonds, etc was very tasty. The other small plates we ordered were just ok including the gnocchi which really wasn't gnocchi and tasted more like bland polenta. We also had roasted mushrooms which were good. The real disappointment was the pork chop. It was served moist but cold. It was also pre-sliced. I didn't send the pork chop back to the kitchen because I was afraid it would come back hot but dry. Part of the enjoyment eating a grilled pork chop is presenting it to the table whole, with grill marks, burnt edges, on the bone. The presentation was ruined by pre-slicing it. It also made it cold. The taste was good but not distinctive. I'm hoping the restaurant just had an off night.
Yum! Everytime I eat here, it is out of the ordinary. Love the menu, the decor and the food.
Superb service and a different menu with awesome selections set the tone for a great birthday dinner. Complimentary champagne for a birthday toast, followed by a delicious meal for all.
