In Bloom at Keg & Case Market
Keg and Case is St. Paul’s most exciting eating and drinking project since beer was first brewed here in 1855! Inside the market you'll find a combination of chef-driven restaurants, craft beer and a uniquely curated market brimming with an eclectic mix of regional goods.
Outside, a bustling park is the backdrop for a diverse calendar of music, pop-up markets and events for all seasons. Revitalized and transformed, these welcoming spaces offer the community access to exceptional fare and new experiences with each visit.
Interesting meat-based menu. Service cannot be beat!
Would prefer a few lighter menu options.
I was really looking forward to going as it was picked as Best Restaurant by Star Trib. However, I was disappointed due to how expensive the food was for the small amount you get, small menu with mostly foods I'd not had before and it took a long time to get our food. The location was great. We loved Clutch Brewery upstairs from In Bloom.
Beautiful food and presentation. Different enough to make it a must do. Some tables, however, don't have four star views (exit doors and recycling bins) so ask for a table with a view of the fire pit or upstairs. Noise level was high but it was Still. Pat's Day at Keg and Case. Still, expect high energy atmosphere, not calm and low-key.
Excellent food, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Pricey but worth it.
A chic new restaurant in an amazing indoor-market style building with a view of a 15' open fireplace where much of the food is cooked. The grilled trout and venison were amazing, and the carrots were wonderfully sweet. Cocktails were reasonably pried, and the service was outstanding.
The food is absolutely fabulous! We were there for lunch and tried several different dishes. I had the prawn, but I would have liked two instead of just one for the price. It is not a cheap place, the dishes are exceptional, if you like smaller plates.
The food was divine and the atmosphere was cool!
The whole service team was great, but our table server was so warm and took great care of us. It was the best service we have had in a while. We will be back.
Beer list has room for improvement.
Wonderful service, perfectly executed dishes, low-key yet elegant atmosphere.
The counter seating is the best seating if you want to feel the whole experience. I saw all of my dishes being made and got to how much care was put into my food.
One of the best and most memorable meals I've had in a long time. We went for a special occasion and it was perfect for that.
The food and presentation was wonderful. I don't typically eat at a restaurant where I can make the same food at home. Trust me, I can't duplicate this very flavorful food.
Great food, service and ambiance! Portions are a bit small
We enjoyed the unique menu, the deliciously prepared food, and perfect ambiance for a lunch date! The smell of the wood fire cooking was inviting, and it lingered on my clothes the rest of the day.....which I didn’t mind.
Food is amazing! Loved sitting at the kitchen bar and having the opportunity to chat with the chefs.
Poor gin, wine and beer selection. Food was fantastic!! Service was good but a bit slow even though it wasn’t a busy night.
One of the best meals I’ve ever had in the twin cities!
Second time dining here. Their food is amazing and exceptionally well - balanced. Each dish has thoughtful presentation and a pleasant balance of sweet or salt or richness, etc. They offer (and excel at) rare and more exotic proteins such as pheasant and venison. The food is a little pricy for what you get, but it's perfect for a fancy meal out.
Excellent service and food!
The menu was interesting -- nice selection of locally-sourced. The trout was excellent but the venison backstrap was a bit tough and the sauce overwhelming. The foie gras was superb -- like butter. Our server was extremely attentive at first but then became distracted as the evening became busier. We sensed she needed our table!
Venison never tasted like this! What a fun night -- delicious venison, prepared several ways, which we sampled three of. Roasted things was interesting; the rosemary potato bread is OUT of THIS WORLD. The round booths are the best seating so be sure to ask for one of them if you can. The wicker chairs at the tables are not very comfortable. Watching the kitchen prepare food over the open fires was a treat. We will be back!
The food is superb!
We had 5 different plates and each item was exceptional. The flavor combinations are unique yet incredibly well combined.
Wonderful restaurant. Food was fabulous; had the poussin and it had a woodsmoke flavor and not dry. A little bit noisy for this restaurant.
Love, love this place. No more than four at table to be able to converse.
We had a very joyful dining experience at In Bloom. Food was super good. Keg & Case was also a really nice treat visiting the shops. Overall a great concept.
I had the trout and my husband had the venison tenderloin. We shared a side of the braised carrots. Quite frankly we did not understand the hype about this place. This was the second time we’ve been there and both times the food was just okay or even maybe even bad. My trout was completely covered with olives and other acidic elements. You really shouldn’t do this to a nice fish. The carrots were glopping with a less than light creme fresh. My husband had the venison equivalent of tenderloin but again over sauced and under seasoned. At no point in the meal did we experience the aspect of of things being fire grilled. The pluses were the oysters, the rosemary bread, the service and ambiance.
Fantastic creative location, best steak ever, most tender venison, amazing roasted carrots. Husband had meltdown cause the prawn wasn’t split, but the kids and I thought the meat inside was lobster quality. Try it!
I really like the concept, but I think they are still working out some execution issues. 2 out of our 5 dishes were cold-to-lukewarm. Appreciate they are trying to do something very cool and difficult (cooking all dishes, to order, on an open hearth), but we expected them to be a little more buttoned up.
Service and ambiance were both great!
So here's where things are in MSP food -- a back to basics open flame at the rear of a food hall. Well, count me in. Sit by the prep station, watch the magic happen. If you have a matching experience you will wonder at the elevation of unpretentious stuff like mushrooms, venison, coconut dessert. You will also have a server (thanks, Bree!) who can read you right away and help you personalize the whole thing. Then you can wander around the rest of the building in a state of abject food excitement, buying cheese and sausage and donuts and planning your return trip. Believe the hype.
Our group of four ordered a variety of dishes family style and shared them. Everyone in our group was wowed by the quality and service! Trout was the unanimous favorite.
Reservations for weekend dining at In Bloom usually require weeks or months of waiting so our anticipation level was very high. To our surprise, the prices on the short menu were out of this world. It is difficult to get out of there full and satisfied for less than $40 per person for food. Most of the dishes , e.g., trout, were tasty. Bread cost $5 but was well worth it. Almost everything we ordered was saturated with salt. Not surprising, the noise level of Keg and Case made it hard to hear each other. And parking is horrendous to non existent.
Food was underwhelming given the hype
I took a friend to In Bloom for her birthday. We both had the trout which was excellent, and I would definitely order it again.
The service was friendly without being pushy. The noise level was moderate, but we were able to carry on a conversation without difficulty.
It's a good restaurant to go to for any occasion. The atmosphere is informal and welcoming.
Had a reservation, but were for counter seating which we didn't know. Really prefer a table instead. We asked for a table when we got there, but they said the reservation for counter and wouldn't seat us at the table. There were 2 tables open the whole time we were there. They could have put us at the table!
We had a great experience. Great food and drinks plus the warm fire grill. Would highly recommend.
Terrific service, beautiful food. Great wine list. Lotta fun!
The food was great! We had the vension, steak, mushrroms, and bread! Services was all around awesome, my server helped out with suggestion and we loved the restaurant. Will come back soon!
Great place for a family style, sharing meal. Wait staff was very on point and exceptionally well versed in the menu when we had questions. Made great recommendations as well to round out our choices. The pheasant, trout, and "grilled things" were all particularly amazing.
