The sushi was very good, the rest of the food we tried was fried and heavy. The brussel sprouts were just friend leaves and bacon.
Great vibe and excellent food choices. Really recommend the Little Sister dish
Valentine’s Day. The Valentine’s menu was not inventive. The food The nontraditional Japanese was excellent! Lobster shooters and bbq chicken were a hit. Japanese was palatable. Ambiance was tepid and Service was slow. We didn’t order dessert- we just didn’t feel like it - - not even for Valentine’s Day!
Food was fantastic but we have come to expect that from Kent and John. It was really cool that Kent was walking the room greeting people. Great atmosphere. We will be back for sure!
We had a variety of sushi menu items and everything we had was outstanding. I also tried the chocolate dessert and WOW. It was a great experience. I recommend 100% and will be back.
First time Imoto diners. Food was excellent and Khang was a great waiter.
Everything was delicious but a little pricy
A little loud in concert nights and frenetic pace, but otherwise, outstanding inventive food. Some of the best sashimi and fresh tasting fish I have ever enjoyed!
Sadly, the wine list was better than the food as they offered a few top notch glasses such as Walt pinot. The avocado tempura was fried with a heavy crust not resembling tempura and the Brussels sprouts and pork belly were laden with grease as the dominant flavor. The cauliflower mushroom dish was delicious as was the salmon which was cooked perfectly though the chard under it was quite soupy. The service was good and restaurant decor appealing. But I wouldn't return....
Food was delicious!!! Service was great! We will definetly return!
Meh. Not shensei. Not great fish. Not inventive. Just meh.
Imoto is great. Excellent service. My wife and I took my mom there for her birthday. She loved it. Great sushi. The duck spring rolls are the best. The samosas were also good.
Very original restaurant concept with a great vibe and better food.
Love the idea of all shareable plates however nothing blew me away. First 3 items we tried to order they were out which put a damper on the rest of our dining experience. How do you run out of items on a Saturday night or not communicate that from the beginning with your guests? Let them know we were celebrating our anniversary and they seated us in a loud area so close to other tables we felt like we couldn’t even have a private conversation, and no acknowledgement of the occasion. Overall the restaurant is beautiful, service was great, but we most likely would not come back due to the food. If I want good sushi, I’ll go to Deep Sushi or Oiishi.
Excellent food and service. Would recommend to friends.
Food was fresh and full of layers of flavor. Waiter was knowledgeable and made great recommendations. Great date spot
Excellent flavor pairings in specialty sashimi. The Korean chicken was a smash at the table and we ordered 2. The Japanese mushrooms are noteworthy and delicious. Overall, excellent meal!
Great service, delicious food, and a convenient location for access to Victory Park.
Service & food exceptional
It was an amazing experience, fantastic food & great service. Can’t wait to go back! The restaurant has a great vibe. Our waitress Paula, made the evening all the more special.
Great spot for happy hour! We went before a concert so it was packed. I’m not sure if they weren’t prepared but two of our rolls came unfinished and our server wasn’t great on recommendations. We loved the lobster shooters, dumplings and butter chicken to start but no one out of the 5 was overly expressed with the sushi. Drinks are great and I think I’ll stick to that and apps from now on. Chef Kent did a great job working the room and the manager came by to check on us as well. Friendly experience, just wish the sushi had been up to expectations.
Loved it! The server explained how we should order and we loved all of it!!
We ordered the duck spring rolls, which were very tasty, and the spicy edamame. I would recommend both. I thought it was a little overpriced, and the dining area was a little too loud to carry on a conversation. However, the food was excellent.
AMAZING - CANT WAIT TO GO BACK
The food and service was Stellar as always.
I highly recommend Imoto. Wonderful neighborhood gem.
Great food. Best service I’ve had in a restaurant. Would definitely recommend this place. Will definitely be back.
We took our mother in law and had a lovely quiet (it was a Monday night) dinner. The service and food were fantastic.
Great food with outstanding service. Will definitely go back
Food was AMAZING!!!!!
The food was great & we were even surprised by a visit with Kent Rathbun!! We were given a private dining area for our large group, complete with a TV to watch the football game. Our server was very organized but she had to keep redirecting the food and drink runners with where to deliver the items. We’ll definitely be back for another visit.
Service and food are great!
Love love love this restaurant! Food is always amazing - Vincent, our favorite waiter recommends for us with each dish better than the last!
The food was amazing and the ambience was great for a night out!
I have gone to Imoto a number of times now, and it keeps getting better. This visit, we did the fried chicken, short rib pot stickers, and salmon miso. All to die for. The lamb curry is also one of my all time favorites. The sushi is always top notch. Kyle in the bar is fantastic... Truly a great find!
There were 4 of us who all ordered something different and we all loved our food. Service prompt and attentive without hovering. Lovely ambiance. Will definitely be back. Kent and Tracy have a great restaurant!!
This place was awesome and we even got to meet the famous chef!
My friend and I went here for N.Y eve and it was awesome. Kent Rathbun and crew do not disappoint. Everything from reservations to paying the check it was most memorable. The service was very professional without being stuffy or pushy like some places. The food was inventive but not intimidating. Very flavorful. Everyone needs to come here. Do yourself a favor and go eat at Imoto!
We have been wanting to try Imoto for a while and decided to visit on NYE. We arrived a little late but the hostess was very gracious and still had our bar seats ready at the sushi bar. We came for Jimmy who’s our FAVORITE sushi chef since Nobu, we were very excited to visit with him knowing that he is hands down the best. We had yellow tail, octopus, salmon, mini shrimps, Tuna belly (best ever) and a few other genius creations that was beautifully plated that I ate and didn’t ask (busy doing green tea shots 😝) we also had their dumplings and the BEST CHAWANMUSHI which is a soft egg custard with king crab 🦀, Caviar and mushrooms 🍄 omg it was Unami at it best 😋. We had great service and we can’t wait to return. Good job Rathbun!!
Got a reservation for New Year's Eve, and had a thoroughly enjoyable experience. My husband and I shared the potstickers (delish!), the cauliflower and mushrooms (a little salty but also delish!), sriracha king crab (almost too pretty to eat), the curried lamb (our least favorite and was returned because the waitress suggested it), and pumpkin bread pudding which was wonderful! Chef Kent presented us a surprise when he delivered one of the dishes himself.
Can't wait to return!
